@TheAntiPop777 Even though is not meant to be brutal, it's still heavier and more brutal than most of other genres of music, even death metal or grindcore.
Also, "metal" is a blanket term, I think some of the posters on this video should really look into just how many different genres are contained within metal as a whole. Just might change your tune a bit.

Doom and Sludge are both sub-genres of metal (and yes EW is a metal band, deal with it). There are also large differences between the two genres, and to those who keep labeling Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath and the like "sludge" need to do a bit more homework before posting.
This band reminds me a lot of both Acid King and Electric Wizard. The vocals sound like Dead Meadow. Based on these two sentences, this band fucking rules.

Sludge Metal check out Coffins or Electric Wizard Sludge Metal is Derived from Stoner Metal but also a bit of Grind Core depends on who you are looking up and who they are influenced by.
@TheCenterOfDisease Stoner in the sense that Electric Wizard is drugged out of their heads when they write record and tour (every waking moment). But the music is straight up Doom ala Black Sabbath and Mercyful Fate.

@GanjaKahn42O Doom Metal is Real and has a history along with many bands filling in that genre. Weird many haven't heard so many branches of metal and yes the difference is very distinct and the styles are defined as the genre depicts.

Check out Lycia and try and define their style, such as The Body Electric or The Bells by them; you will have little room to define their genre.
