  • READ IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE RUNNING. The game was made for DOS, so if you want to play it on your modern computer you need to use an emulator. I recommend dos box.

  • This video is a favorite on Georgia

  • In all honesty, I'd rather spend $60 on this, instead of Modern Warfare 3.

  • I had this on my old machine.... a pentium 100 with a "turbo" button. You kids need to stop playing COD and appreciate how it actually came about.

This is coming from someone who was bought up with Space Invaders and Paperboy, the classics will never die

  • Do they not have bathrooms in the future? All of the characters act like they need to go really bad.

  • una mierda

  • the graphic looks bad! Come on this server: CS.crizatii.net

  • this and future shock best computer games period

  • FPS, that is really what terminator games should be like, we dont want 3rd person terminator games we want to be a solder of the future hiding underneath the surface of the dust from the nuclear war hiding to get the right chance to throw a grenade to blow up that huge terminator on tank wheels :P

  • in 15 years, the games today will look just as pixelated

unless skynet kills us all first

  • @bughunter801

That's not really true. Once games hit a high enough definition our eyes wouldn't be able to tell the difference, and its already close enough that it's probably going to be within ten years that it happens.

  • hasta la vista baby

  • you knoe if if the graphics are crap compared to the games now, i think the oldness of the game makes it more amusing and like, "ah the good times!"

  • Still have it.

Multiplayer over IPX was always fun.

8 Player lanfests..... and only 1 game cd needed per 3 players was a winning idea.

    @vjanik - good rant :-) because it's so true.

  • @erewhonable Didn't the LAN implementation had a bug that when you had more than 4 players some could either not see one another or couldn't do any damage?

I loved that game, LAN and single player :)

  • @R1ddic Sorry not sure. Only ever played with a max of 4 players and predominantly 3.

  • it's... bloody... awesome =')

  • This was VERY fun. Good times.

  • holy crap i remember playing this ages ago

  • This game is great. I have played it but the windows xp is not compatible so the game crashes randomly.I hope they will remake this game for iPhone 4.

  • @kujahhhhaaaaaaaaaaa yeah i have both this and future shock, but my pc is too new to play them. i would use dos box, but that thing hates running for me and i can never get it working. its a shame, i have the proper cd games too from way back

  • @Amaranthus616 Consider VirtualBox.

  • @MadsterV hmm, i think i just might. thanks

  • ou know a game is old when the cutscrnr graphics are worse than ingame graphics today. i wish i had this game

  • This game was more loyal to the movies than T3 or T4 ever was.

"A stolen nuclear missile"... awesome story, and nice atmosphere!

  • they need to remake this with the fallout 3 engine

  • Man, this game was fucking awesome.

  • amazing game i wish it wasnt fucking impossbile to get working on this pc.

they should totally do a remake.

  • Min. specs :

    Intel Core i7 3000 Mhz

    4 Gb DDr3

    2x GTx 400

    ==========

    Recomended:

    Intel Pentium 1 300 Mhz

    32 Sdram

    4 Mb video card

  • @IanasAnd I GET IT RUNNING WITH MY RIG! XDDD

  • This is brilliant.

  • That's a pretty dynamic trailer for that time. I remember the dull trailers for Diablo.

  • I love the graphics :D

  • haha wow i remember playing this game in 1996. it was difficult if i remember correctly. wow this brings back memories. thanks!

  • I don't really care about the grapics, this game looks fun! I like almost anything terminator.

  • That looks like the Quake engine!

  • My how far gaming has come...

  • graphics is not everything. some of these old games are better than today's.

now its just a marketing strategy. make a game just to sell it, make it short so that people have to buy new ones, make it nice to look at. i feel games improve in graphics but lose depth. everything us dumbed down so that anyone can play. before it actualy was challanging.

sorry for the rant. i had to let it out

  • @vjanik You are absolutely right. I am searching for older games because of that, not just my computer is geting too old for the new games.

  • @vjanik Oh yeah so true. Just look at the Mechwarrior series. The first two had the shittiest graphics, but it had a really in-depth storyline, and it was a battle simulator. You had to worry about things like affording fuel for trips, making money off contracts, not getting back-stabbed, etc. Don't forget the battles, you really felt like you were controlling a nuclear equipped mech. As the series went on, they gutted the story and the simulation aspect to make it a mind-numbing shoot-out.

  • @vjanik Halo is a beautiful exception to your statement

  • @vjanik You're right. Minecraft is very old and even today alot of people play it!

  • dam i had the demo back in the day, just kept playing it again and again! brings back memories, they gotta make a new game!

  • The player models twitch like mad

  • Graphix are sikkkkkkkk

  • epic in videogame history, whithout question..

i played this game all night long and bunked off school for that..

    wow, memories.. :)

    greetings from germany..

  • Loved this game. The terminator salvation game is crap.

If only they had done something like this fine game, imagine how cool it would be with todays spec computers/consoles.

  • 13 years - from 8MB to 8GB of RAM - WOW

  • @GTASanAndreasPL 5 months and you can buy a Mac Pro with 16GB of RAM. Amazing.

  • A month and you can buy a DELL with 64GB of RAM. Simply amazing.

  • wow the graphics aren't half bad

  • Damn, I love this game!

The were other Terminator FPS games for DOS.

Rampage, Future Shock and SkyNET are the best!

  • If you want to see s Skynet type intro on a non SkyNet game, search You Tube for Earth 2140 intro. They have the Terminator thing down pat - even though it's a pretty bog standard RTS game with robots at the end of the day! :)

I think Bioforge was the most Skynet game I played, and maybe System Shock! :)

  • @Cobatarms:

Graphics is old and therefore looks "bad" compared with today's standards.

I bet the gameplay is awesome, though.- That is what counts the most.

  • I've played ALL the fps since a friend gave me Wolf 3d on a single floppy WAY back in the day. My whole group of friends thought Skynet was WAY ahead in a lot of ways. It had its glitches but there were things you could do in the multiplayer that other games weren't even close to. It's the first game I ever remember having vehicles that could be piloted. We had an absolute blast with this game at our LAN parties. We all feel Skynet was very underrated at the time. Awesome, awesome game!

  • Bethesda should make another terminator game after they finish Brink and TES V

  • @JBau3rCTU

They lost the terminator games license, so they can't make another one

  • @lordzilu1584

Maybe when they sell a few million elder scroll V games they can buy it back :)

  • If women in the future look like that, then I can't blame SkyNET for trying to terminate humanity.

  • WOW ya think

This was high-end in the day

  • did you play as the terminator or humans in that game?

  • This game is just cool. Multi player mode was fauls advertising here. The game came with a SVGA Update for the game Future Shock. But this came also came with Full motion video mission briefing. This game is what started the whole FPS. DECENT 1, and 2 was a classic. But this is the FPS before anything including HALO and Half Life.

  • Uh, what? Wolfenstein 3D started off the FPS genre.

  • Oh yeah your right. But I mean the controls of full 360 free look style. Strafing aiming and zooming in. And yes I know Wolfenstein 3D was bloody. But this game doesnt even have that. Kinda funny about the Mission Briefing meaning you have to have a soundcard. full motion video and with Kyle Reese.

  • Both, it was team multiplayer.

  • the best game ever! xD

  • that game looked good

  • Does anyone remember the original, original Terminator computer game?? OMG! We've come sooo far since then.

  • I can tell that these models are very impressive. This reminds me of their next game which is utilizing the best of the latest shader software, physX engine, and polycount is over ninethousand per character! This game will be the most epic game of all time! It shall be called... Duke Nukem Forever-- COMING SOON! circa 1997

    ok it's late, i should go to bed now >_>;

  • I remember, When how I used to play it, when I was a child, and it was such a hit! I'm downloading it now, to play it again :)

  • Oh, my god! very bad grapich compared with on now....how....ITS GREAT GAME...Good Movemets....really cool and good Sprites

  • for me it looks astonishing when considering that it was released in 1996.

  • back then this to us used to be like the xbox 360 next generation of consoles. Can't wait in ten years how video games are like and they laugh at our graphics. :D

  • You mean ps3; yes it's nicer looking!

    O and i own both!

  • i wanna play it with my gaming pc lol oh noes i dont have 8MB of ram lol

  • why do the terminator character models look so much better than the human ones?

  • Which do you mean? The in-game ones or the cut-scene ones?

  • the cutscene ones

  • I don't know. Cutscene models just seem to look better than the actual in-game ones in most games I've played. I'm kind of surprised how good the cutscene Terminators look; in my opinion they're on par with some of today's stuff.

  • dark forces? no!?

  • hey i remember this - was actually quite scary to play in the middle of the night. it was great.......sounded scary when you heard a T800 walking around after you

  • nice rofl at 51 seccs with car!

  • woah check out those graphics!

  • They need to remake this game on a modern game engine :P

  • True. One of the best FPS games ever made. And its because of the incredible atmosphere it had. Masterpiece.

  • They did. It's called Fallout 3 LOL

No, seriously, they should remake this. Looks good

  • Played it and Terminator: Future Shock and it was a kickass game. Unfortunately, I cant play it anymore on my new computer : (

  • DOSBox dude. Check it out.

  • It' great how all the characters seem to feel the rhytm:)

  • bet this game was bad ass

  • You are not alone.

  • simply awsome ! :)

  • whoa it requires 8mb of ram.... I need to upgrade.

but this was a great game. still is.

  • they should remake this game

  • That's awesome. I didn't really know that much about FPS back then outside of Wolfenstien and Doom. Oh and Faceball 2000

  • FACEBALL 2000 FTW!

  • LOL you like that? ;3

Its nice to see someone who remembers classics like that.

  • Back then? Those games came out several years before this one.

  • Yeah, and when do you think that this game came out...? Protip: Look in the video description.

  • Which is why I made the comment I did.

  • Well if you are saying that a game from '96 isn't old then it makes sense, but I consider a game from '96 to be old...well, older. ;3

  • Dang, I lost my copy of SkyNET ages ago. I would love to play it again. Everybody seems to have forgotten the monumental impact of this game. Incase you don't know this IS THE VERY FIRST game to have the mouse used as a tool vor view navigation. People take for granted the idea of looking around and aiming with the mouse, well Future shock introduced it :D

  • Its awesome how much graphics are changed... In -96 it was like this (And im sure that these graphics were in -96 very good!) And now in 2009 they are pretty lifelike.

  • what some of the r-tards harassing the graphics dont realise is that in its time the graphics were acceptable and the engine that generated the graphics was a breakthrough, it just wasn't pushed to its limits because of development cycles and the abilities of home owners computers. Its still the best game of its type 12 years later, what does that tell you!!!!

  • Can you get this on 360 or ps3?

  • this game ...95

  • i hope my computer can handle this

  • LOL! ''i hope my computer can handle this'' HAHAHAHA! Good one!

  • LOL

  • i hope my pocket watch can handle this

  • hehe still have that damn game, hell the sequel too. Imho the best terminator based game ever. Too bad it has an argument with xp and modern pc's

  • It's pre-Quake 1 you little graphic whore.

  • wot motherfocker wot!

  • Omg this is really sweet!!!!! which year??? Which console???

  • 1996. PC.

  • what console???

  • Imagine just how far games have come...

  • I liked the grim atmosphere,it was a great game!

  • freakin sweet man!

  • bingie going to make a game called skynet the path of destuction afther they finsh halo 3 o.d.s.t drop 2012 before the end of the world

  • the game is over 12 years old. of course the graphics are shit, what do you expect?

  • He's obviously a guy who doesn't play retro...

    btw The game is awesome.

  • Future shock and skynet are the best terminator games out there. Even in todays advanced gaming features these old schoolers are worth a play.Where you actually immerse yourself into the terminator world.

  • The precurser to this was The Terminator: Future Shock. You need Skynet, as it has improvements for Future Shock. Bethesda has a thing for games on a massive scale. No shitty actors in FS. :) These gams will scare the FUCK out of you. If you can get past the limited graphics, this game will really blow you away. I loved playing it.

  • 10 years ago this was state of the art. Bethesda was a company that introduced Daggerfall to the masses. The scope of these two games were way beyond other games of the time. I played this game through so many times. You don't think the game is old or lacking as you play it. Performance is better than most games today. Fast load times, freakish action, intensly scary.

A true current comparison would be OBLIVION, which may seem amazing now, but 10 years from now, kids will think it's primitive.

  • The graphics may be blocky, but i still think that it gave the games of this era far more character than today. Same as the PS1 days to if i'm honest, they all had a feel and character to them that seems missing today.

  • does anyone know of another well old school game called skynet where you had islands in the sky and a mage and stuff, such a long time ago now, but im still trying to find it!

  • Comment removed

  • i have the first terminator future shock and this other version too :D

    nice games!

  • hard to believe this was only 10 years ago now games look so real thats it unbelievable.

  • I think a ps1 can support better graphics than what this runs on.

  • bloody hell, just think that just over 10 yrs ago games n graphics looked lik this! almost everythings is square! still good games tho :)

  • Loved the vehicle modes (especially the armed jeep) and the weapons. You know, you could use a rocket as a UAV scout by firing one over enemy territory and switching to rocket view.

  • That sniper rifle looks strangely similar to the ones in Halo.

  • you mean the ones in Halo look similar to these ones. This game came out long before Halo.

  • does anyone now where i can buy old games like this

  • This is an awesome game, the best thing about it were the open ended levels, not like the dull linear PFS games of today. Also cranking up the "Machine Debaser" by Fear Factory while playing the last levels rocks too.

  • I'm still trying to get some DOS player to play this game, I have both games, that being Skynet and Future Shock. Both great games although Future Shock has like.. gazillion more levels and is way more epic.

The game still haunts me to the core since I first played it when I was 10, ever now and then I have some crazy dream like the ones Sarah Conner has.

Anyways, a great game. Someday I'll record, write a review, and even write a walkthrough to the game so it shall hopefull be remembered.

  • this was a great game... went unnoticed, but it had many of the stuff we see in today's games (footsteps, zoom, nightvision, panning) and... for the time, the graphics were great. Good stuff.

  • lol - graphics have improved so much now. I love the way the thing in the air blows up at 1 minute in and the running at 1 min 20 ha ha...

  • This game was a breakthrough when it came it but didn't sell amazingly well. It really is an awesome game though (despite how far graphics have come), which is due to the kick arse game play. Fuck Id love to play it if Id an old PC.

  • They need to remake this game with better graphics this game would be cool if it had better graphics and by the way I never heard of this game.

  • I wish my cd didn't go poof (asshole stole my cd case). There really needs to be a good terminator shooter come out. It'd be way better than Halo.

  • Lego was fun too so whats yer point?

  • I love this game. I never even beat the first level when it came out it was so hard. Just recently bought it again and I still can't do it lol.

  • First 3D FPP Game

  • what's with the knees

  • bethesda nade this game? cool, too bad theres not an updated version out there somewere... thanks for the video, looks like fun,

  • Looks like fun to play.

  • good graphic's

  • Wow, I bet this game was like the Crysis graphics of it's time.

  • i have the game and its pretty hard but good graphics for a old game!

  • The terminator music just kicks that game trailer up 10 notches in my book. The music from terminator rocks, but to put it to the terminator game, awesome.

  • i can't believe sega could actually make scene/videos that good on an old system

  • the sega saturn was a superior peice of hardware compared to the ps2, the problem was the programmers had trouble programming it, for whatever reason, and the download fall of the saturn began as tons of machines sat on stores shevles and games were left unfinished

  • What a great vid dude. I lost my copy of SkyNET years ago and was never able to beat it. Any idea where I can download a free copy of it?

  • same exact situation as you. never beat and im trying to download it somewhere

  • what game is this

  • Like the title says, Skynet. MS-DOS game by Bethesda (known for Elder Scroll series) over 12 years ago.

  • Future Shock is better. :)

Actually, there's this Terminator game from 1990 that's almost like a GTA clone, if you can believe it. You roam all around LA as either the Terminator or Kyle Reece and try to accomplish your mission. Stores, vehicles, lots of guns, etc...

  • oh hell ya that part at :21 when the robot looks up at the missle is creepy.

  • relly old 3d tpp game :)

  • Always thought this was a fpp game...(sorry 4 my english)

  • Interesting to see what games came out when I was like two, maybe three!Good work!

  • This, together with TIE-Fighter would really be awesome if remade.

  • Lol@ this clip reminds me of Dire Straights MTV video animation.. "Thats the way you do it. Money for nothing ; and the chicks for free.

  • Haha true!

  • I wish this game was remade compatible to XP and Vista. I keep getting an error just by clicking on the icon.

  • VIVAN LOS POLIGONOSSSSSS

  • y los vertices y los triangulos y los mapeos de texturas, etc

  • It is perhaps one of the only highly enjoyable terminator games around. I remember this game back when I was in 4th grade in 1996 and not only was I intrigued, but scared from all the high pitched sounds and enemies like the raptor. There were so many places to go in each level, check out old terminator movie spots and go into random buildings, so barren yet so enjoyable.

  • After eleven years it's still my favourite game. It's genious.

  • well i really like the music

  • God I remember this game- it was so cool. I remeber wasting away good summers days and nights playing this game. There is just something about a urban waste land filled with robots that apeals to me... for some reason!
