  • Hi hogger01,

Really great video and the video and music both real nice! Looks like there's still a place for the old trains then!

    Take care, mrbluenun

  • Great Video..I Love the MUZIC TOO! A+

  • they don't make em like they used to/

  • wow those tracks are really close to that rocky wall, if a big piece of rock fell off a train would hit it for sure

  • Neat that these are captured in time with these images. Never saw how it was done.

  • I seen 1 of these in Brandon,Manitoba's CN yard had same shape but not a caboose frame. It had big side wings. My dad knew a person that runned this CN plow. His name was chuck. My dad worked with MOW (maintenance of way) He liked the kershaw the best he said

  • That's an early model Russel Plow. The newer ones were about 10 feet longer. My video responses will show the newer model on the sides really good.

  • what is the name of the current song?

  • I have no idea

  • Notting Hillbillies

    Railroad Worksong

  • We have one of these in our Roundhouse at Heritage Park. I am going to print some slips up with the link to this video and hand them out to patrons.

I like the music. It fits.

    Will

  • We have one exactly like this one at the Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn, MI. Ironically, it is also a CP. Hmm, I wonder...

  • Have you changed the music to this vid , was it not railroad worksong before ?

  • Hi Zand3r73.

Yes I changed the music, NOT by choice.

Youtube is getting alot of heat from record companies because of copy rights. So they gave me 2 choices scrap the video or change the music from a list they say we can use. I've had to do this with 3 or 4 of my videos now, it sucks.

  • cool video I seen one of these in action a few years back up on the CP Mountain sub while rideing a Christmas train on the Rockey Mountaineer

  • @hogger01 hey hogger I have noticed people make sure to put in the copyright info for a song with the artist info, record label and state that all rights are reserved by them. And put that in the video info seems to be enough they can get away with using copyrighted songs.

  • I wonder how many HP that bad boy got!

  • Hi Serostern

    That locomotive is a GP-38, it's 2000 HP.

    Thanks for watching!!

    Hogger01

  • CSX in West Springfield Mass had 2 in the yard for a while which were aquired in the Conrail purchase..they were ylw.

  • i agree the older snow plows were better

  • They don't make 'em like that anymore, eh...

  • man!!! incredible, big equipment. . . here in Brazil we didn't use because we don't have snow. . . but oh it becomes indispensable! ! ! great video. . . congratulations

  • this was great! everything about it is top notch. love it!

  • I worked on the Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad for 23 years, up until 1992. We had a snowplow nearly identical to the one in this video, even to the paint job. The BML bought it from the CP. 1926 sticks in my head as the year it was built.

  • THANKS! GREAT SONG TOO!!!!!!

  • This is probably my favorite part of railroading the snow, and snow equipment!!! Keep it up!!!

  • 5 stars from me!!!!!

  • Woow man, what a fantastic job you have!

I wish we had that kind of snow here in the Netherlands!!

  • We got one of those just wasting away in Wainwright, plain shame not to see it go down the ties if you ask me.

  • you have the greatest job EVER!

  • That looks like a Russell snow plow to me. I scrapped one just like it for The Iowa Interstate Railroad 8 years ago. It was a former Rock Island plow. I still have the builder's plate off it! Nice Vid!

  • An amazing piece of history still in action. That's so cool!
