I've found instructions on how to remove the radio elsewhere but that last step with the clips is what I needed to finish removing my radio. I, actually, managed to lose one of those bottom three clips.
Thanks for the video I was having a hard time pushing up on the air conditioning vents. The after market kit actually says to put a flat head screw driver in a little slot under the hazard switch in order to remove the aftermarket radio I guess they were wrong. Thanks again for the video..
this was of no help at all.. my stick is all jacked up and i could not unscrew it but twisting it i had to unscrew two screws behind the stick and now i cant put it back together because it does not align right the was it normally was.. man my gear shifter is all jacked up right now.. maybe we have two different models.. mine is a hond accord 2004 sedan LX.. i wonder if that matters.. well anyways i still havent got any further than the gear shifter..
I used one of these kits to replace my radio, NOT A GOOD IDEAL. The kit made by Metra, they DO NOT LOOK good at all, the control buttons start falling apart after two, three months. The dual zone AC control never works right after I replaced the factory radio. A year later I purchase a double din kit on eBay, I put back the factory radio, I installed the double din at the factory pocket and it looks SO SO MUCH BETTER. I can still have power and all the controls from the factory radio.
dude i fucking love you for this video just got a dash install kit for 25 bucks off ebay and am gonna use a pioneer aftermarket cd player because my stock radio aint puttin out enough pre amps to power my amplifier to power my two kicker 12" cvrs :)
Definitely appreciate the vid man. I did this today because my 6 cd changer stopped working. Ripped the player apart because I thought it stopped working due to a stuck cd. God the cd out, but the 6 cd changer still wont work. Will probably have to buy a new changer on ebay. I appreciate the vid though, because without this vid I would have been up shit creek. Most other videos like this just show you how to install an ipod, but you took out the whole unit.

thank you for all the info. i have a 2004 accord v6 with a busted cd player, i fully understand what you did in this vid but what are my options after i have done all of this? does an aftermarket cd player replacement exist for this car or would i need to find an oem replacement? dealership wants $750 for a new unit. considering the dual ac/heat feature intergration?thx for the help.
Sorry for the late reply. Have you looked at any of the Metra-Kits?? I forget the part # off hand. They will allow you to install an after market CD/MP3/DVD/whatever you want while also maintaining the climate controls. Check em' out and let me know if you can't find the Parts #. I got em' both somewhere around here.
I own a 03 accord ex A/T, awhile back i attempted to remove my stock radio but could only get to the "not an ashtray" removal. The actual tray itself was seemingly impossible to remove. Are you sure there are no clips to depress or screws to undo? I got to the point of yanking my tray to were i thought it would break. any help is appreciated great vid!
As long as it's a 7th Gen. Accord then I believe that the NOT AN ASHTRAY holder thingy is just held on by 2 clips on either side. I suppose I may have over looked sum screws but if I did, they're on Phillips Screws holding the entire dash together. Hit me up if you need any help!
Great vid. I think th e reason you broke the top clip is that if you push int he emergency flashers, you can release it with a flat tip driver by pushing , gently, down in the flasher hole.
Much obliged!

Thanks I would reccomend going to Harbor Freight and getting the upholstery tools for 5.99. They were invaluable. Thanks for the upload.

@thejinn96
Yeah it should pretty much be the same. The clips might be in a different area but the layout is the same.
