  • @DanteMcSparda Do you want me to show you the boxes and discs? I bought the education edition, 1/3rd the price.

  • thanks 4 the video but I still have a problem ?! I have full HD handycam ,when I start to edite the dobe CS4 monitor is frozen and no audio ?! .. What should I do ?

    Thanks

  • Hi, I really appreciate your videos. I must thank you 1000 times for your step by step guide. Very clear man. Thanks you a lot. (If you would watch my video in my channel).

  • thanks helped me out so much:D

  • Where did my videos music go?

  • Hi! i hope you can help me... I've done something that i don't know... and that screen in the middle disappear. How can i fix it?

  • i was actually looking for what format to finish the project so it will play on you tube, now, i also know a bit more about the effects i can use. lol, thanks for the info, really helped

  • @binkiie4dictator I go over that in part 4 :). I'm actually going to be uploading a tutorial soon showing the different formats.

  • Q: why when i put a video in the timeline that just take the video?

    and the audio No?

  • thx so much :D

  • @djunk666 Glad it helped :)

  • This helped a bunch. Thanks for putting up the effort in this tutorial!

  • @WeArePurpose That's okay :)

  • don't thank me for subscribing, i didn't lol

  • @ItsTimeToChime Wow, you're an arrogant one judging from your previous comments on my other videos.

  • nice video super clear and lifted a lot of stress thank you

  • @xsk8terx1234 Glad to hear :)

  • Guys can anyone please help me? I'm making a stop motion video and i'm importing the pictures from the capture program called MonkeyJam. But I'm having trouble making it fit fully on the canvas! please help me!!!

  • i followed all the steps but its still showing the black bars on the side of the preview (but its widescreen in quicktime). its driving me crazy! lol anyone know what i could possibly be doing wrong?

  • @JaneBoleyn ur a moron .. thats why ..

  • @rhn94 hahhahhahahha

  • Thanks any way. I have to add and give you credit though, this video tutorial is so amazingly clear on 720p. Truthfully, the quality to this video is so awesome, that it made me want to learn what you were teaching.

Thanks for the upload. It was still very helpfull. Now I know why my HD videos looked funny. It wasn't set to "progressive scan". It was interlaced. Big help!

  • Not a wucking forry! :)

  • Wot do you mean by you no longer offer support for this tutorial ???

  • I haven't got the time to offer support to those who need help any more - especially when it's a question about the program, not the tutorial. I don't work for Adobe and if one needs help with the program they'll need to seek it through Adobe themselves.

  • Ok, totally understand. My problem is capturing the HD footage.

I recorded my scene in HD with my HV30 canon. My computer came with a capture software called PowerLink Cyber Director v7. Should I just use Adobe Premiere for my capture source or stick with this Cyber Director? What software do you use to export HD footage from your camera?

Oh and yes, I use a IEEE 1394 cable to connect the canon to the computer. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • I actually don't own a camcorder at the moment, I use my webcam, iPod and mobile phones to capture footage.

I have no experience catching video from a camera in Premiere Pro and I've hardly used Cyber Director before. I'd suggest sticking with what you know unless you have the time to learn how to do it in Premiere Pro - which may or may not be worth learning, I don't know because I've never really done it.

Sorry that I can't help much with that :(

  • I would most definitely stick with capturing with Adobe

  • What do you mean You don't support it?

  • I don't offer support for the tutorial, if that's what you're referring to.

  • I have elements and I cant change the frame size thats why it pisses me up, and I bought an HD camera and everything

  • I don't THINK there is a restriction for the standard accounts vs partner accounts on YouTube but I'm not 100% sure. Either YouTube has bumped up the compression or people are uploading at a low bitrate.

I've also found that the HQ/HD button appears on newly uploaded videos before they have rendered the HQ/HD version and although it says I'm playing in HQ/HD I'm actually looking at the lowest quality.

  • does anyone know how to edit the FPS of a AVI file? because i recorded something, and when i play the avi file, there are no laggs.

But when i put the avi file in adobe premiere pro cs3, it becomes 200fps and very laggy... and i think the fps is suppose to be 12

  • try rendering it first, see if that works

  • Yes, but it'd take a while to explain in the comments section. If you're doing basic video cuts etc, I recommend sticking to Premiere Pro but if you're doing animated graphics, go After Effects. Just google "how to export 1080 After Effects h.264"

  • hey man...what is the different 16:10 and 16:9?

    quality or display?

  • 16:9 is widescreen, 16:10 is a little taller than widescreen.

16:9 / 16:10 is an aspect ratio, it gives a measurement of how wide and tall the image is going to be. Hope that helps :)

  • thanks....i understand now...:D

  • I'm very suspicious of the comments going on my videos, they seem to be advertising Sony Vegas. Any more comments of that nature will be deleted, unless I deem them to be legitimate.

  • Switching to Adobe Premiere was the best thing that I have ever done in terms of software. I used to use Sony Vegas Pro and I edit on a laptop and when I imported HD Video and tryed to play it, the computer would lock up. But not on this.

  • Really? I've yet to experiment with Vegas but that sounds like a very odd thing to happen. It's great that Premiere is working for you though, I think it's a great application.

  • I'm using Vegas platinium now and I have no problem working with HD. I make the switch to Vegas pro in a month.

  • Question. When I drag HD clips into adobe premiere it's to slow to play the clip. It just skips through it. What can I do to solve this? Would a new videocard work? Thanks

  • Try rendering the footage before hand, you may need to change your render settings if it looks distorted. I'm pretty sure you just need to hit "enter" to start rendering.

  • Is it just me or doesn't this work? When I export me videos with these settings, it doesn't look good at all!

  • same with me. looks all blocky n like total crap.

  • Chris can i ask you a ?

What size of desktop resolution do you use when recording tutorials...

    Thanks...

  • 1920x1080, generally.

  • Does anyone know why youtube has a wide ratio now than before

you upload 720p HD now you get the black lines on each side. bah hehe.

  • Now is:

    1280x640

  • dont worry, i think i figured it out :)

  • Need help.. :(

I've made a video on premiere CS4...but before i made it i didnt know that u had 2 change the size so it'll fit on2 utube wen u upload it, so now im worried dat my vid would be 2 small 2 view on utube??

i tried changin it by goin on File & then Export & then Media, & then changin the Format to H.264 & changed the Preset to Youtube, then @ the bottom it says the Frame width and height [pixels] for my vid is 320 by 240? would dat make it the right size 2 upload on2 youtube?

  • Thanks for the tutorial mate, really needed this one. Since I'm combine between

Sony Vegas & Adobe Premiere Pro

Sort of funny actually. Everyone think you've downloaded it, and everyone goes like

''HES A RICH MAN!''. Keep up the good tutorials. We appreciate your work!

  • Haha, thanks :D I've got to get back into making tutorials soon.

I'm not rich at all, but I don't have much to spend money on, so I could afford the discounted version.

  • hey i dnt kno wat happenz, everytime i upload a vid to youtube that was exported from premier pro cs4, it comes out very small :S can yu help plz

  • also Adobe Premiere Pro Look realy nice i wanna Test It! Thank you :)

  • Try it out, it's free for 30 days :)

  • is this cs4 howd you get it darker?

  • Yep, CS4 - just go into the preferences of the application and change the interface brightness :).

It can also be done in CS3.

  • wow thanx it worked hey dude what if I want black bars on top and bottom?

  • WTShit! Same desktop wallpaper as me, NICE! I've had that wallpaper for like months lol.

  • LMAO!

  • I've got the box if you want me to prove it.

  • It was the whole Master Collection by the way, not just Premiere Pro.

  • You bought this?

  • Yes, what's so amazing about that? lol.

  • Fuck I wanted to get for free..

  • Lol.

  • Why do you prefer Premiere Pro over all the other programs? Super is not giving the same HD quality as premiere pro?

Which program did you use to create these 4 HD videos?

    Thanks

  • I meant that it's the best editing software for windows, in my opinion. SUPER is just a converter.

I used Camtasia Studio to capture my screen, then imported it into Premiere Pro, edited and exported through Adobe Media Encoder CS4.

  • Super i not working though. I get some errrors.

  • I don't work for SUPER, sorry, you'll have to contact them.

  • I did not ask why I get errors.

  • Guys do you think the Sony Handycam HDR-SR11 camcorder is good?

  • It looks like a good program man. what are you planning on doing?

  • program?

  • hey chris i have adobe prem elements 7, i just bought the hv20, do u know wot settings i should have on the cam to get the hd or hq result. Ill sub ya if u can help too! :)

  • I can only guess, as long as the resolution is 1280 x 720, 24 or 25 or 29.97 or 30 fps it should be fine. You might need to convert the file to an mp4, I'm really not sure - sorry.

  • no probs, gona have to just mess around with the cam an edit software til it comes together eventually. Thx 4 replying.

  • Hey Nesian, I also have an HV20 and just made my first real video with it - it's uploading right now and the name will be 'driving through nigeria'. check it out in a few hours ;)

What chris said is true. Follow the same instructions.

  • JUST FOUND YOU--THANKS FOR ALL YOUR GIVE. ADOBE TELLS ME I CANNOT CAPTURE FROM MY CANON hd VIDEO CAMERA RIGHT INTO MY PREMIERE 7.0--CAMERA DOES IT ALL JUST RIGHT BUT FOR720X480--TOOK YOUR ADVICE AND NOW HAVE SUPER C-- I AM PRODUCING hd widescreen VIDES ON YOUTUBE-- WHAT WOULD DO WITH 7.0?Mr.Y

  • hey after you export the file, how do you upload to youtube exactly like you did? did u use the youtube website video uploader?

  • Yup, just the standard upload form :)

  • alright. Its just that when I tried it last time, the video came out extremely blurry on youtube. what is the .thing at the end of the video for urs?

    for example

.mov, .mp4, .wmv, ect for when you put it on youtube?

  • .mp4

How long did you wait for it to process? Sometimes it can take hours before the HD link appears.

  • Thank you:))

  • No problems :)

  • does this work with CS3?

  • also when i put time effect and slow the video down the screen goes black

  • this another to get it to work just did a test video its on prv my video showing 720 by 480 I went down to effect by mistake and put. Time effect Posterize time and now my 720x480 fits the whole screen now and i have Sony dcr-trv280 cam corder now I will have HD send me text if yall get to work to.

  • why would you tell people its very expensive... people well.. kids and young adults do not buy software lol... they go t othe pirate bay :D

  • Lol, I know most people do, but I bought it.

  • Comment removed

  • I've got an HD link below the video player.

  • 'only problem is its quite expensive'

    lol

    tpb should get you started

  • I am against stealing applications that make you a lot more money in return.

  • i thought you might say that..i have access to 100mbit servers from around the world with tb, upon tb of content. everything is free, use the internet to get it. the movie industries already make so much more money than normal people, you think its fair your not allowed to watch there movies w/o paying for them? everyone who already has money, just wants more from the people that dont. i had a friend who was a dj, he said if his shit got on lime wire or youtube or whatever, hed be fine with that

  • I agree and disagree, I mean, watching movies doesn't make you money. Also, Hollywood have earned their way up there to make that money, from that perspective, I think it's fair to pay for movies. On the other hand, I do think that they could lower the price a bit.

  • the fact is hollywood has at least 1 trillion $ saved away from movies. you think after all this time we should keep giving them more money? if i was stealing some piece of software that somebody wrote themselves, they wern't from a big corporation, or if i was stealing an independant film or something, it would be different. but most of the stuff people pirate is owned by corporations and companies that have tons of money. i understand what your saying thought.

  • I totally see where you are coming from, I agree too, they are asking too much for films.

  • very helpful

  • thanks :)

  • I NO LONGER OFFER SUPPORT:

I have NOT disabled comments because occasionally one commenter may help another.

I CANNOT offer support for this tutorial any more due to time constraints.

Thanks so much for the support towards this video so far.

Thanks for understanding, feel free to comment, just don't expect a reply from me.

  • Hi ! What pc do you use for this hard work- ill need same

  • I have an HP HDX Dragon, it's a monster laptop.

I am hopefully switching to a mac though.

I recommend a mac, but if you prefer windows, I suggest looking out for something like this:

intel 2.8ghz core 2 duo extreme processor

    4gb ram (1066mhz)

Though it may be a little pricey, that would be a powerful machine for youtube videos etc.

  • Definatly mac. and if u want to download cs4 for free, hit me up

  • You can get discounts on CS4, legal is always better and has its advantages, also gives you goals.

  • you already download the 30 day trial, which means you do now have CS4, which means all you gotta do is just disable the registration by editing the preferences files and your good to go, dont even need to be illegal.

  • hey man. my raw file type is .m2ts and it says its unsupported on premier pro. what do you suggest.

ps i dont want to use vegas haha

  • You might want to download a special codec, BUT, one thing is that vegas support .m2ts files very well. My friend has a sony Hdr-Sr12 and i edited a video with vegas that was shot with his camera and it worked great.

  • thanks man. ill try and find a special codec :) coz i dont want to use vegas haha. i prefer premier pro :)

  • As far as I know, in the LATEST update for the Adobe Media Encoder CS4 - it has support for m2t but I'm not sure if it will allow you to work with the files in Premiere Pro - not 100% sure on what I just said, but I remember reading something a couple of weeks ago.

  • thanks man.ill try and figure it out haha

  • ok thanks. does vimeo leave it at what the file is?

  • I believe they also compress it, but I'm pretty sure they also offer a link to the ORIGINAL file you uploaded, so that could be a .mov or whatever you use - that would have 60fps.

  • cool. thanks for all the help man :)

  • no problems :)

  • Good tutorial, I think you will go far.

  • Thanks :D

  • hey if i increase the amount of frames per second will it make it better quality. the camera records at 60fps and i think 25 would be a bit of a waste.

  • Youtube for some reason has removed my comment (at least, I can't see it)

    I'll repost:

I think Youtube will automatically lower it down to 30 frames per second - not 100% sure though.

  • thanks but can u please tell me how to make hd movies for dvd? everytime i export them its all fuzzy. i didnt get the $2700 camera 4 nothing. oh and the format the videos come out of my camera in is m2ts and it wont go on Premiere. please help me.

  • From what I can see, youtube deleted my comment for some unknown reason.

M2TS is supported in the LATEST version of CS4 - you have to download the updates (at least, that's what I read)

As for HD movies for DVD, are you trying to play the DVD back on your TV, or just on a computer, because if you are trying to play it back on TV, DVD can't handle HD size.

  • Thanks for your VERY helpful tutorial! I'm sure I'll tune in in the future.

  • thanks :D

  • OH MY GOSH!! It suddenly works now, LOL!

  • Did you reformat or is it just suddenly working now?

  • Randomly started working, aha xD

  • my capture device records in mpg2 what can i use to change the format so that i can edit with adobe premier pro cs3, thanks..

  • There is a program called "SUPER" - watch part 2 of this tutorial :)

  • -______- I have the Adobe Master suite, but when i click okay or load poject it closes and asys send error report./

  • You know something, I had the SAME errors from them. I just reformatted my computer the other day, they seem to be all gone.

I have NO clue what the issue is.

Maybe you should try reinstalling windows (or whatever you are on) just make sure to backup your files onto another hard drive.

  • Hey man, thanks for the swift reply!

  • no problems :)

  • Hey Chris - Excellent Videos - One question....

I have Premiere (same as yours) and I noticed on your General set-up screen you have Microsoft AVI as your Video Preview selection.

What codec do I get to have that on mine- all I have is Quicktime listed. In other words - How the hell did you get that as an option.

By the way, nice bit of "That's what she said!" humor. Most people will be like, "What the L is he talking about?" LOL.

    Thanks in advance, MD

  • ROFL! I have no idea, it was there when I installed it. I haven't got a quicktime, oddly enough.

I'm sure Adobe will be able to help you out if you give them a call. I'm really not sure about this. Try googling it as well, it's probably just a matter of downloading something.

Are you using Mac or Windows? - Just curious.

Glad you enjoyed the video too btw :P

  • LOL I downloaded it for free its awesome!

  • Premiere Pro?

    It is a GREAT program!

  • I don't understand, when i create the sequence and then import the video into premiere the video keeps its dimensions the same, it doesn't fit the 16:9 ratio that i create from the general tab

  • Have you tried scaling just the width in the effects controls tab? Make sure to un tick uniform scale.

  • never mind bro i figured it out, i just put in 640 x 360 instead of 1280 x 720 and then the video perfectly fit lol, but thanks anyways man.

  • ah k, np, glad you got it working :)

  • thanks again man, great video too, i just have one question though, is 640x360 going to fill up the whole youtube screen? it should right since its still 16:9 ratio.

  • yeah it should :)

    4:3 - 640 x 480

    16:9 - 640 x 360

  • ok kool, thanks bro, I'm about to find out in a few anyways cause I'm putting up a new video.

  • nice, I'll check it out :)

  • alright kool, sounds good :D

  • i think i lost my project, like when i try to open it now it tells me this "this project contained a sequence that could not be open, no sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type" do you by any chance know what i'm doing wrong??

  • I've never ever had that error message, maybe you can google it and see if somebody can find a solution. Sorry

  • yeah i tried to do that but google would just list me with a variety of things about adobe premiere because of the long sentence i put down, and i can't really shorten it because it just will only show other troubleshooting tips.

  • I'm really sorry, I can't help with errors in the program as I don't know the coding behind it all, maybe you can contact Adobe?

  • its ok bro, yeah i contacted them and they still haven't gotten back to me, but i think the problem is this ratio thing cause when i create a project using its default settings it can open later but when i try doing the settings you mentioned in the video i am unable to open it later.

  • can you please, please make a tutorial for premiere elements 7??? I don't have pro and I desperately want to do this!! thanks!

  • Alright, I'll try to get one up within the next week :)

  • thank you soooo much you do not know how much this means to me!

  • By the way, I use a canon zr800 for my videos now, I hope this is not a conflict.

  • Say if I make it 640x360, but my video is not 16:9 ratio. How can I change the video to fit the 640x360 setting I picked?

  • Make sure you have 16:9 on the aspect ratio box selected.

If it is and you are still getting a weird aspect ratio, it's hard to tell, maybe try using the crop option (on the right, there is a little button for cropping) and crop about 32/33 of the top and bottom - I haven't tried this feature yet, but give it a shot anyway.

Let me know how it works out :)

  • I don't wanna crop anything out tho..

What Im saying is like the sequence setting is on 16:9 like I want it. But my clip/video might be something like 720x480 and thats not a 16:9 ratio. Is there anyway I can change that to a 16:9 ratio or just scale it to the sequence size.

If you dont know what I mean just message back..

  • if you are converting a non 16:9 video to 16:9, one of two things will happen.

1 - you will have the video stretched

2 - you crop the video so that everything is in proportion, but you (possibly) loose some image quality and defiantly loose a lot of the picture.

    Is this what you mean?

  • Yes, I want the video stretched, but I do that by cropping? Is that what your saying?

  • Nope, if you want it stretched - just changing it to the 16:9 option with the res of 640x360 should work.

Make sure to tick "Stretch It" on the right hand side

  • Yur gonna tell me how to do that lol.

    Ty for the help btw

  • just choose 640 x 360, 16:9 and make sure stretch it is ticked - right above to the crop button on the right

  • Lol, I'd hate to be a pain, cant find the crop tool. Sorry I usually use after effects for all this types of stuff

  • No problem, it's on the right of the bitrate setting for the video, just under the DirectShow Decode option.

On the right, you will find the Stretch It option.

    Hope that helps :p

Just look at the directshow option then look down a bit, and to the right.

  • Omg, I feel like such an idiot. Im new to all of this. What window is this stuff in? Do I have it turned off or what? I cant see any of what yur saying anywhere :P

  • I can't find the crop tool so therefor cant find what u said above

  • Oops, sorry, I'm the one to blame, ack.. I misread the title, I thought you were using SUPER, not Premiere Pro..

Sorry, rofl... I'm the idiot here :p

Okay, so, to stretch the video, have you created a widescreen project or just a 4:3 project? - either works for stretching

  • Wow, Premiere seems quite a lot better than VideoStudio!

  • hells yeah! Got a truckload of tutorials on the way

  • ...seven months later and I still haven't gotten them up. Gah.

  • O btw dude, how do I get black bars on top and bottom?

  • As in have a normal 4:3 picture and then put a widescreen 16:9 picture in the middle?

  • lol,take a break dude I guess <:) I think I got HD for my computer though... :I not sure i dont think so,guess im'a try it now D:

  • HD!? Wow, I never thought youtube would go true HD! :O

    Looks amazing...

  • :p, I still want 1080p

  • ...and now there is 1080p.
