thanks 4 the video but I still have a problem ?! I have full HD handycam ,when I start to edite the dobe CS4 monitor is frozen and no audio ?! .. What should I do ?
Hi, I really appreciate your videos. I must thank you 1000 times for your step by step guide. Very clear man. Thanks you a lot. (If you would watch my video in my channel).
i was actually looking for what format to finish the project so it will play on you tube, now, i also know a bit more about the effects i can use. lol, thanks for the info, really helped
Guys can anyone please help me? I'm making a stop motion video and i'm importing the pictures from the capture program called MonkeyJam. But I'm having trouble making it fit fully on the canvas! please help me!!!
i followed all the steps but its still showing the black bars on the side of the preview (but its widescreen in quicktime). its driving me crazy! lol anyone know what i could possibly be doing wrong?
Thanks any way. I have to add and give you credit though, this video tutorial is so amazingly clear on 720p. Truthfully, the quality to this video is so awesome, that it made me want to learn what you were teaching.
Thanks for the upload. It was still very helpfull. Now I know why my HD videos looked funny. It wasn't set to "progressive scan". It was interlaced. Big help!
I haven't got the time to offer support to those who need help any more - especially when it's a question about the program, not the tutorial. I don't work for Adobe and if one needs help with the program they'll need to seek it through Adobe themselves.
Ok, totally understand. My problem is capturing the HD footage.
I recorded my scene in HD with my HV30 canon. My computer came with a capture software called PowerLink Cyber Director v7. Should I just use Adobe Premiere for my capture source or stick with this Cyber Director? What software do you use to export HD footage from your camera?
Oh and yes, I use a IEEE 1394 cable to connect the canon to the computer. Any advice would be appreciated.
I actually don't own a camcorder at the moment, I use my webcam, iPod and mobile phones to capture footage.
I have no experience catching video from a camera in Premiere Pro and I've hardly used Cyber Director before. I'd suggest sticking with what you know unless you have the time to learn how to do it in Premiere Pro - which may or may not be worth learning, I don't know because I've never really done it.
I don't THINK there is a restriction for the standard accounts vs partner accounts on YouTube but I'm not 100% sure. Either YouTube has bumped up the compression or people are uploading at a low bitrate.
I've also found that the HQ/HD button appears on newly uploaded videos before they have rendered the HQ/HD version and although it says I'm playing in HQ/HD I'm actually looking at the lowest quality.
Yes, but it'd take a while to explain in the comments section. If you're doing basic video cuts etc, I recommend sticking to Premiere Pro but if you're doing animated graphics, go After Effects. Just google "how to export 1080 After Effects h.264"
I'm very suspicious of the comments going on my videos, they seem to be advertising Sony Vegas. Any more comments of that nature will be deleted, unless I deem them to be legitimate.
Switching to Adobe Premiere was the best thing that I have ever done in terms of software. I used to use Sony Vegas Pro and I edit on a laptop and when I imported HD Video and tryed to play it, the computer would lock up. But not on this.
Really? I've yet to experiment with Vegas but that sounds like a very odd thing to happen. It's great that Premiere is working for you though, I think it's a great application.
Question. When I drag HD clips into adobe premiere it's to slow to play the clip. It just skips through it. What can I do to solve this? Would a new videocard work? Thanks
Try rendering the footage before hand, you may need to change your render settings if it looks distorted. I'm pretty sure you just need to hit "enter" to start rendering.
I've made a video on premiere CS4...but before i made it i didnt know that u had 2 change the size so it'll fit on2 utube wen u upload it, so now im worried dat my vid would be 2 small 2 view on utube??
i tried changin it by goin on File & then Export & then Media, & then changin the Format to H.264 & changed the Preset to Youtube, then @ the bottom it says the Frame width and height [pixels] for my vid is 320 by 240? would dat make it the right size 2 upload on2 youtube?
hey chris i have adobe prem elements 7, i just bought the hv20, do u know wot settings i should have on the cam to get the hd or hq result. Ill sub ya if u can help too! :)
I can only guess, as long as the resolution is 1280 x 720, 24 or 25 or 29.97 or 30 fps it should be fine. You might need to convert the file to an mp4, I'm really not sure - sorry.
Hey Nesian, I also have an HV20 and just made my first real video with it - it's uploading right now and the name will be 'driving through nigeria'. check it out in a few hours ;)
What chris said is true. Follow the same instructions.

i thought you might say that..i have access to 100mbit servers from around the world with tb, upon tb of content. everything is free, use the internet to get it. the movie industries already make so much more money than normal people, you think its fair your not allowed to watch there movies w/o paying for them? everyone who already has money, just wants more from the people that dont. i had a friend who was a dj, he said if his shit got on lime wire or youtube or whatever, hed be fine with that
I agree and disagree, I mean, watching movies doesn't make you money. Also, Hollywood have earned their way up there to make that money, from that perspective, I think it's fair to pay for movies. On the other hand, I do think that they could lower the price a bit.
the fact is hollywood has at least 1 trillion $ saved away from movies. you think after all this time we should keep giving them more money? if i was stealing some piece of software that somebody wrote themselves, they wern't from a big corporation, or if i was stealing an independant film or something, it would be different. but most of the stuff people pirate is owned by corporations and companies that have tons of money. i understand what your saying thought.
you already download the 30 day trial, which means you do now have CS4, which means all you gotta do is just disable the registration by editing the preferences files and your good to go, dont even need to be illegal.
You might want to download a special codec, BUT, one thing is that vegas support .m2ts files very well. My friend has a sony Hdr-Sr12 and i edited a video with vegas that was shot with his camera and it worked great.
As far as I know, in the LATEST update for the Adobe Media Encoder CS4 - it has support for m2t but I'm not sure if it will allow you to work with the files in Premiere Pro - not 100% sure on what I just said, but I remember reading something a couple of weeks ago.
I believe they also compress it, but I'm pretty sure they also offer a link to the ORIGINAL file you uploaded, so that could be a .mov or whatever you use - that would have 60fps.
hey if i increase the amount of frames per second will it make it better quality. the camera records at 60fps and i think 25 would be a bit of a waste.

From what I can see, youtube deleted my comment for some unknown reason.
M2TS is supported in the LATEST version of CS4 - you have to download the updates (at least, that's what I read)
As for HD movies for DVD, are you trying to play the DVD back on your TV, or just on a computer, because if you are trying to play it back on TV, DVD can't handle HD size.
ROFL! I have no idea, it was there when I installed it. I haven't got a quicktime, oddly enough.
I'm sure Adobe will be able to help you out if you give them a call. I'm really not sure about this. Try googling it as well, it's probably just a matter of downloading something.
I don't understand, when i create the sequence and then import the video into premiere the video keeps its dimensions the same, it doesn't fit the 16:9 ratio that i create from the general tab
thanks again man, great video too, i just have one question though, is 640x360 going to fill up the whole youtube screen? it should right since its still 16:9 ratio.
i think i lost my project, like when i try to open it now it tells me this "this project contained a sequence that could not be open, no sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type" do you by any chance know what i'm doing wrong??
yeah i tried to do that but google would just list me with a variety of things about adobe premiere because of the long sentence i put down, and i can't really shorten it because it just will only show other troubleshooting tips.
its ok bro, yeah i contacted them and they still haven't gotten back to me, but i think the problem is this ratio thing cause when i create a project using its default settings it can open later but when i try doing the settings you mentioned in the video i am unable to open it later.
Make sure you have 16:9 on the aspect ratio box selected.
If it is and you are still getting a weird aspect ratio, it's hard to tell, maybe try using the crop option (on the right, there is a little button for cropping) and crop about 32/33 of the top and bottom - I haven't tried this feature yet, but give it a shot anyway.
What Im saying is like the sequence setting is on 16:9 like I want it. But my clip/video might be something like 720x480 and thats not a 16:9 ratio. Is there anyway I can change that to a 16:9 ratio or just scale it to the sequence size.
Omg, I feel like such an idiot. Im new to all of this. What window is this stuff in? Do I have it turned off or what? I cant see any of what yur saying anywhere :P
@DanteMcSparda Do you want me to show you the boxes and discs? I bought the education edition, 1/3rd the price.

hey man...what is the different 16:10 and 16:9?
quality or display?
afiqhanifah 2 years ago
16:9 is widescreen, 16:10 is a little taller than widescreen.
16:9 / 16:10 is an aspect ratio, it gives a measurement of how wide and tall the image is going to be. Hope that helps :)

-______- I have the Adobe Master suite, but when i click okay or load poject it closes and asys send error report./
KorinPK 3 years ago
You know something, I had the SAME errors from them. I just reformatted my computer the other day, they seem to be all gone.
I have NO clue what the issue is.
Maybe you should try reinstalling windows (or whatever you are on) just make sure to backup your files onto another hard drive.
christheferal 3 years ago
Hey man, thanks for the swift reply!
KorinPK 3 years ago
no problems :)

Hey Chris - Excellent Videos - One question....
I have Premiere (same as yours) and I noticed on your General set-up screen you have Microsoft AVI as your Video Preview selection.
What codec do I get to have that on mine- all I have is Quicktime listed. In other words - How the hell did you get that as an option.
By the way, nice bit of "That's what she said!" humor. Most people will be like, "What the L is he talking about?" LOL.
Thanks in advance, MD
FrankKernMassControl 3 years ago
ROFL! I have no idea, it was there when I installed it. I haven't got a quicktime, oddly enough.
I'm sure Adobe will be able to help you out if you give them a call. I'm really not sure about this. Try googling it as well, it's probably just a matter of downloading something.
Are you using Mac or Windows? - Just curious.
Glad you enjoyed the video too btw :P
christheferal 3 years ago
LOL I downloaded it for free its awesome!

Premiere Pro?
It is a GREAT program!
christheferal 3 years ago
I don't understand, when i create the sequence and then import the video into premiere the video keeps its dimensions the same, it doesn't fit the 16:9 ratio that i create from the general tab
ICEx03 3 years ago
Have you tried scaling just the width in the effects controls tab? Make sure to un tick uniform scale.
christheferal 3 years ago
never mind bro i figured it out, i just put in 640 x 360 instead of 1280 x 720 and then the video perfectly fit lol, but thanks anyways man.
ICEx03 3 years ago
ah k, np, glad you got it working :)
christheferal 3 years ago
thanks again man, great video too, i just have one question though, is 640x360 going to fill up the whole youtube screen? it should right since its still 16:9 ratio.
ICEx03 3 years ago
yeah it should :)
4:3 - 640 x 480
16:9 - 640 x 360
christheferal 3 years ago
ok kool, thanks bro, I'm about to find out in a few anyways cause I'm putting up a new video.
ICEx03 3 years ago
nice, I'll check it out :)
christheferal 3 years ago
alright kool, sounds good :D
ICEx03 3 years ago
i think i lost my project, like when i try to open it now it tells me this "this project contained a sequence that could not be open, no sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type" do you by any chance know what i'm doing wrong??
ICEx03 3 years ago
I've never ever had that error message, maybe you can google it and see if somebody can find a solution. Sorry
christheferal 3 years ago
yeah i tried to do that but google would just list me with a variety of things about adobe premiere because of the long sentence i put down, and i can't really shorten it because it just will only show other troubleshooting tips.
ICEx03 3 years ago
I'm really sorry, I can't help with errors in the program as I don't know the coding behind it all, maybe you can contact Adobe?
christheferal 3 years ago
its ok bro, yeah i contacted them and they still haven't gotten back to me, but i think the problem is this ratio thing cause when i create a project using its default settings it can open later but when i try doing the settings you mentioned in the video i am unable to open it later.
ICEx03 3 years ago
can you please, please make a tutorial for premiere elements 7??? I don't have pro and I desperately want to do this!! thanks!
steriogram007 3 years ago
Alright, I'll try to get one up within the next week :)
christheferal 3 years ago
thank you soooo much you do not know how much this means to me!
steriogram007 3 years ago
By the way, I use a canon zr800 for my videos now, I hope this is not a conflict.
steriogram007 3 years ago
Say if I make it 640x360, but my video is not 16:9 ratio. How can I change the video to fit the 640x360 setting I picked?
bbobby14 3 years ago
Make sure you have 16:9 on the aspect ratio box selected.
If it is and you are still getting a weird aspect ratio, it's hard to tell, maybe try using the crop option (on the right, there is a little button for cropping) and crop about 32/33 of the top and bottom - I haven't tried this feature yet, but give it a shot anyway.
Let me know how it works out :)
christheferal 3 years ago
I don't wanna crop anything out tho..
What Im saying is like the sequence setting is on 16:9 like I want it. But my clip/video might be something like 720x480 and thats not a 16:9 ratio. Is there anyway I can change that to a 16:9 ratio or just scale it to the sequence size.
If you dont know what I mean just message back..
bbobby14 3 years ago
if you are converting a non 16:9 video to 16:9, one of two things will happen.
1 - you will have the video stretched
2 - you crop the video so that everything is in proportion, but you (possibly) loose some image quality and defiantly loose a lot of the picture.
Is this what you mean?
christheferal 3 years ago
Yes, I want the video stretched, but I do that by cropping? Is that what your saying?
bbobby14 3 years ago
Nope, if you want it stretched - just changing it to the 16:9 option with the res of 640x360 should work.
Make sure to tick "Stretch It" on the right hand side
christheferal 3 years ago
Yur gonna tell me how to do that lol.
Ty for the help btw
bbobby14 3 years ago
just choose 640 x 360, 16:9 and make sure stretch it is ticked - right above to the crop button on the right
christheferal 3 years ago
Lol, I'd hate to be a pain, cant find the crop tool. Sorry I usually use after effects for all this types of stuff
bbobby14 3 years ago
No problem, it's on the right of the bitrate setting for the video, just under the DirectShow Decode option.
On the right, you will find the Stretch It option.
Hope that helps :p
Just look at the directshow option then look down a bit, and to the right.
christheferal 3 years ago
Omg, I feel like such an idiot. Im new to all of this. What window is this stuff in? Do I have it turned off or what? I cant see any of what yur saying anywhere :P
bbobby14 3 years ago
I can't find the crop tool so therefor cant find what u said above
bbobby14 3 years ago
Oops, sorry, I'm the one to blame, ack.. I misread the title, I thought you were using SUPER, not Premiere Pro..
Sorry, rofl... I'm the idiot here :p
Okay, so, to stretch the video, have you created a widescreen project or just a 4:3 project? - either works for stretching
christheferal 3 years ago
Wow, Premiere seems quite a lot better than VideoStudio!
AccordionManiac 3 years ago
hells yeah! Got a truckload of tutorials on the way
