  • my doc said take 0.5mg twice a day. is this the only type of med they have(meaning benzos) to help someone stabilize their mood or what?is this the best modern medecince has come up with?

  • I started taking Ativan about 3 years ago and when I started it was about 1 a day 1 milligram and now 3 years later I'm taking 4 pills a day 2 milligrams each I can't stop because when I do I feel like I'm losing my mind and my paranoia of people thinking bad about me keeps me afraid of not having a pill

  • The distinction that people need to learn to make is that between addiction and dependence. I don't find benzos addictive at all, but it doesn't matter how well you control your substance use, if you take benzos daily you will become dependent on them. Tolerance goes up, you take more, and more frequently if the half-life is short. It's some sneaky shit and if left unattended it will not stop until it has ruined your life. Please people be aware before you ingest.

  • I just took an Ativan and it makes me think that this guy is kinda funny. His facial expressions bring a smile to my face.

  • I find 8 mgs. and a 10% I.P.A. to be rather nice.

  • So many postings/videos about this med & similar meds. My exp: Anxiety is the result of feeling out of control; Depression is the result of feeling out of hope. Both may be assisted by the temporary, carefully guided use of ativan/Lorazepam (Anxiety) or remeron/Mirtazapine (Depression), but as videos indicate - NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE PROFOUND WITHDRAWAL AFFECTS WHEN TAPERING DOWN, using as emergency measure regular/small prescribed doses with follup. Nutrition, Exercise, Counseling helped me!

  • One more thing, how could anyone get addicted to something that is considered a downer? It doesn't make you happy. It doesn't make you laugh or feel good. It just stops you from worrying and dwelling on things that you can't change. I've been able to answer my phone and go outside for the first time in a long time without fear of having to talk to someone. Don't get me wrong, the fear is still there, it just isn't paralizing.

  • Hi! Just wanted to take the time to thank you for your view and opinion on this med. I just started it Monday for Anxiety .25 two times a day. It's really helped me a lot. But I will be very careful with it. You really seem kind of out of it. Maybe your still tired or you haven't had your coffee, but if this is how you talk when your taking it, you probably should cut back, way back and try to clear your head a bit. Could you make another video, when your thoughts are clearer? Thanks!

  • @carolynn420 What do you think heroin and alcohol are? They are both downers do you really think people get addicted to them and abuse them to feel sad and deppressed or happy and euphoric and worry free? Use logic you ignorant fucktard its a deppresant of the central nervous system not your mind

  • @MyLesPaulcopy doesn't matter. Take as prescribed and your still messed up wanting more.

  • swim has ativan n adderal. some nights swim consumes 3/5/10 mg of ativan. during the day swim even mixes ativan w/ his speed and gets a slurry voice and overall discomfort. swim is very sad, alone, and deteriorating. swim just wants to feel non-bad, bad is a normal feeling for swim. tramadol hasnt helped him much either. swim gets awful #2 from ativan. swim is making me sad now, cuz he doesnt want to hurt himself anymore.

  • you are absolutely right....and my doctor doesn't like to ever prescribe pain pills but he loves to prescribe benzos like ativan-zans-valium etc...which are also highly addictive.

  • Don't take this crap... EVER!

  • Yah skip one and you think your having a panic attack...no...it's a withdrawal sigh..so you take more... Its evil. it's bullcrap and a drug industry money maker...

  • i havent had any problem with it. been taking it for years.

  • @SGDeGalvez you will have problems when your doc stops writing that script for ya or retires and your new doc won't write it. You will see... it is the DEVIL

  • yall are lame get some lives

  • Man you're absolutely right about these, they're not needed at all.. I've had some bad withdrawals due to impulsivity and carelessness. Cutting back is so hard, even though they barely seem to work now. I honestly wish scientists could learn to modify opiates safely for anxiety sufferers.

  • Take it from another Ativan user, don't walk, RUN as fast as possible to escape ATIVAN-HELL! This powerful medication is highly ADDICTIVE, DANGEROUS & CAUSES COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT, MEMORY LOSS, WORSE ANXIETY, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, RAGE, ANGER, VIOLENT BEHAVIOR, DEPRESSION, JOB LOSS, WRECKED LIVES & ZERO QUALITY OF LIFE!

  • "THOSE WHO CRASH FROM IT AND HAVE FITS/SEIZURES. ARE PR-DISPOSED TO SEIZURES, AND DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH GABA IN THEIR BRAIN TO COMPENSATE - FOR THE ABSENCE OF XANAX.

FOR GOD SAKE... EVERYONE EAT REALLY WELL. TAKE RECOMMENDED SUPPLIMENTS FISH OIL ETC B12 + BIO-CHROMIUM = GABA IE. EGGS AND RED KIDNEY BEANS(AND TOMATO PASTE). IF THAT DONT WORK. CONSUME THE PRODUCT. IT'S AS CHEAP AS NOW ON EBAY.

    BUT eat....

  • @hughmcrae you can eat my ass!!!!!!!!

  • @johnsondkf Ativan is really just for panic level stress, and if you load up, you will crash and burn big time, bro. Atenolol is a beta blocker, which is a chrono/inotropic drug used to decrease the heart's need for oxygen as well as decreasing contractility, so your heart will "feel better", but that is it. It sounds like you have figured out what works for you, but definitely use ativan sparingly and only in times where you are having physiological symptoms due to stress (palpitations, etc.)

  • @johnsondkf Hey been awhile since videos! How is everything?

  • @hughmcrae shut up

  • HEY ATIVAN MAN - GET OFF THAT SHIT IT'S ALREADY FUCKED U UP.

BENZO'S ARE AN AID - OCCASSIONAL. THEY AIN'T FOOD.

YOUR RIGHT - DON'T TAKE BENZOS EVERY DAY, ESPECIALLY THAT ONE NOW!!! THESE PEOPLE WHO BAG (GIVE XANAX) A BAD REP IN THEIR POSTS EVERYWHERE.

F U PEOPLE. THAT DRUG IS A GABA MODULATOR NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS. (WHICH MEANS INCREASE OF LEVELS OF GABA AROUND NEURO SITES)

  • @hughmcrae Fuck you!!! Try listining to the fucking video, I know how to correctly use medicine you fucking doctor want to be.

  • @hughmcrae Some people need it. You are misinformed.

  • What r u on now?

  • Trazedone, buspar, celexa , lexapro, inderal , and a few others I can't think of.

  • @nixd0013 You really should see a specialist who dals with this everyday all day long, a psychiatrist. Took me 7 antidepressants before I saw one and he found the right med the first visit. Been on it since 10-2-10

  • @nixd0013 inderal is a beta blocker. Not a true anxiolytic, but it stops palpitations and can help migraines.

  • @RevolvingDoor22 it is also an anti depressant.

  • Family doctor. But I tried about 15 non benzos before he put me on Ativan. I don't tolerate anti depressants. And I don't wanna alter my mood all the time.

  • @nixd0013 Give me the list of meds you tried, Ive been there too.

  • Read 2 comments below.

  • And I'm great at my job. Management loves me. There is absolutely no reason for my panic attacks. I don't get it. But the Ativan helps.

  • I'm a printing press operator.

  • @nixd0013 Do you see a specialist or just a family doctor?

  • I use it only at work. And I work 3 - 4 days a week. I take two in a twelve hour shift because I had major panic attacks at work.

  • @nixd0013 What type of work?

  • @nixd0013 what do you do for work???

  • I'm taking Ativan for anger/panic/stress. I think Xanax XR / Alprazolam XR is better but my insurance wont currently cover it.

  • @kinesis420 Sweet, ativan is a purer cleaner form of xanax. Just take as prescribed and no more, and not even everyday just for panic. If your not having panic dont take any, they work better that way.

  • @johnsondkf I switched to Xanax, regular.. The doc only gve it for bedtime bud ativan was giving me bad side effectcs, paradoxical, like restless leg etc.

  • @kinesis420 weird...

  • @johnsondkf take as prescribed and you still build up tolerance. your body still craves more. The end.

  • @johnnynthng At what? Advice from someone who knows about these.

  • @thekurlzz Then you can do the black man handshake on my prick.

  • I'm trying Tryptophan soon.

  • It'll definitely build up in ya, half life is 9-16 hours

  • @SunnysBlunted You should eat my fuckin ass...

  • Comment removed

  • Im not though.

  • Been there....welcome to Hell. It's an EXTREMELY effective and reliable drug....but you really need to only use it for very short periods of time....and only absolutely as needed......easy to say...not so easy to follow. Know that you can overcome it...and reach out to doctors/clinics/others for support/assistance in getting off it and staying off. I wish there was a support group specifically dedicated to Benzo use/abuse.

  • @MyLesPaulcopy

agreed. you need to taper off. you become and unwitting addict even after a few weeks. it's a nightmare.

i've been using the Ashton Method w/the help of a new doctor. it's the only thing that has worked in 10, yes TEN years. :(

I am feeling like a normal person again and it's been only 4 weeks.

  • i just found a big ass bottle of this shit.. lmao.... and i got a gang of good weed.. i think u know what im bout to do.. but u gotta make sure not to pop too many vans!

  • @thekurlzz You should just blow me after...

  • I appreciate this video...Thanks

  • @Datgurlxoxo32 One out of 5000

  • @ratisnice Why?

  • @MyLesPaulcopy That hasnt been my experence.

  • You also don't absolutely have to eat foods with salt or other spice, or to live... hell you can go kill urself if ya want.uc my point.I need it.... and i been taking it along time and i have much more experience than ur meager 4 to my 10 or whatever.there's one major downside only(beside the rare siezure events)and thats when u quit em u will have more hardcore attacks than u did before... there a bit worse. So,with do respect, and ur point is fine... but if i didnt have a benzo in my life...sigh

  • @Usmcspartan420 Got no idea what this all means.

  • Ya, they are addicting as hell. Only take them when you are having a panic attack or troubles sleeping or whatever. Otherwise they just make you high and you'll get addicted... physically.

  • your right about everything you said except stopping cold turkey

that is the absolute dumbest thing to do in the entire world

some people would become sucidial going from peaceful ativan to cold turkey anxiety filled response

    ....good video tho

  • You're a really nice guy.

  • the point is to not take them to the point of feeling foggy, light-headed, sleepy etc. If you take a half, and than another half 15-20 minutes later you'll be relaxed and still highly alert and normal. And try taking them with food, your body needs energy when it's dealing with foreign chemicals (pills) And on top of all that exercise, sun, and healthy diet, you'll be flying high from how good you feel. Sometimes it takes more than one thing to get you back on track to feeling normal...

  • my mom takes ativan 2mg because if she dont she cant sleep atall and since she been on it her attitude changed she get headache muscle problems also their have been sometimes she treating to commit suicide for little problems that can be fix plese will like your help or advice

  • made total sscence. just got my spript...I'lll take her easy. Thanks for the advice

  • Just go smooth on em. 2-3 days or a week or so inbetween doses ,,,no shit!

  • hey man i just got these and i totally understand where you are comining from. Thanks. Gonna take her easy

  • you can't die from it, even if you took 80 ot more, its impossible.

  • Your doctor prescribes them to you?

  • Im dropping about 5-7 ativan or xanex a day, i feel like my brains fucking oatmeal.

  • Hey John. Have you been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder? You just may have one and really need meds.

  • hey johnsondkf you need to briefly research "Rebound Anxiety" and "SSRI Discontinuation Syndrome" because i think youre experiencing both.

  • I have had quintuple bypass surgery and watch my heart and cholesterol and my anxiety.

  • leave the shirt off

  • Hi..Johnsondkf.. did you ever feel agressive after taking Ativan ... please be careful .. I wish I could help you in some way.. you are such a gentle sould and sensitive.. you are a beautiful person and have so many beautiful things to see yet.. love Den

  • We have the same coffee cups!!! Surreal!

  • i came of the benzo's for a while last year and my brain was working faster and i had more memory , but as the cost of having panic and anxiety that i took them in the first place even though i came off them slowly.

  • I know some people that take ativan 4 times a day! i couldnt imagine taking them like that.

  • You would be soooo tired and foggy headed. Some people...

  • I took half of one ativan when I was in school. I don't remember it doing anything for me...I was stressed anyway. I took buspar before and that didn't do anything either. I would get frustrated and stop cold turkey which probably wasn't a good idea. Every person is different and responds differently. I'm going the cognitive-behavioral route. Be careful with the benzos. They are very powerful.

  • Yes they are!

  • i like the 'instant' sublingual ativan. i was prescribed some after experiencing my one-and-only ever panic attack, around two years ago. i get the occasional anxiety attack(on average, once a week) and if its really bad, i usually take some risperdal or Q for it, but i hate that stuff. i'd much rather keep a few of these on hand for those occasions.

  • Talk to me about the Q and the risperdal, what do they feel like and what do they do?

  • in my experience, the risperdal at low dose (0.5mg) will put a stop to an anxiety attack within the hour, and without causing sleepiness. whereas a small dose of quetiapine(say 25mg), while equally effective against the anxiety, is extremely sedating and can necessitate a nap as soon as it kicks in. i prefer the risperdal as a prn, because the side effects from Q can be horrid(sleep paralysis, worsened nightmares), especially at higher doses and its really too sedating for daytime use.
