The resources to make a soundtrack were way more limited, but, somehow those sountracks sounds better than nowaday's games, probably they were made with more inspiration...
Just listen to soundtracks like: Shinobi 3 , streets of rage..... pure greatness.
dude is it me or did the last boss in this game look like wwf superstar shawn michaels LOL i got up to the final boss and im like SHAWN MICHAELS!? why is he doing spinning back kicks and flips wtf!?
Dang, i was so glad when i beat that damn clown i ran down and told my mum and dad and brother. The only one who understood the importance of this great achievement was my brother.
The time people were not complaining about stupid graphics or even storyline. Everything was pure fun gameplay. All of these melodies make my eyes wet.
@sephirothmustdie You have a good point. Gamers just played for the sheer enjoyment. I remeber we would spend the whole weekend trying to beat games. Staying up all night, sore thumbs, switching players.... and if you were good you could beat most stuff in a couple of weeks.
This new stuff has so much in it it is like you have to sell your life and soul to master it all.
one of the sweetest basslines for any SNES game. The part from 0:40 to 0:53 would often come up into my head randomly, even ~15 years since I last played it. I just found this yesterday thinking about it... another childhood nostalgia satisfied. Thumbs up to the poster and Technos.
summer vacation, playing this on rainy nights with the sounds of crickets in the distance. Beating the shit out of the fat clown then realizing I only had one continue left. Sweet baby jesus i miss my childhood and the awesome games I grew up with
@MrAlexftw - Indeed man. I grew up in the 90s to amazing games like this. I too remember playing this with my brothers on SNES on afternoons, and beating the crap out of the bad guys. Nothing more satisfying than cleaning up the streets. Hell, these games taught my brothers and I to do what is righteous and good :D
Lol i remember playing this when i was 6. We'd always make us nicknames for em like lionhead, clowny, and suity. Damn i hated those suities... And that clown, OH! Same with the chinese butchers. Oh but i love the game. Still have my SNES and still play this game regularily. THere's nothing like beating up a bunch of lions and clowns and Arnold Schwarzenegger on the bridge. Dang that bridge too. Always killed me.
@JenkemSootyMcNigger Oh, don't worry, I will. As a matter of fact, I have put this game on my Christmas wish list so I would like to get this as a Christmas present for me as of next month. Because if I don't see that for Christmas, then when the new year comes, I will make it my personal mission to find it and obtain it for my SNES collection.
Like I said, I am planning to have it for Christmas since I let my family friend know and have her buy it for me at any website that has it.
I just got to have this game! I would love nothing more than to own Super Double Dragon now that I currently own a Super Nintendo. I can try finding it at second hand stores or other pawn shops for this classic. I have never played this game before, but I did play the first two Double Dragons for the old school Nintendo.
I want this game so bad, I just can't resist, and I want to own Double Dragon!
@Galaga135 yeah, coz before, the games meant something. like morals, honor, justice, and all the stuff that makes it humane and inspirational. nowadays, its instant gratification, dont get me wrong, i do play the new games today, but what im saying is that, its just not the same anymore.
@Galaga135 its so true man cuz now adays its all aobut how pretty and bloody it can get not about game play (except nintendo) or music (except nintendo, capcom or sega)
OMG yes! That fat clown was gay!! Everyone in the game was realistic except that fat gay clown. All he would do is roll like a blur in mid air. what the hell did that move even mean!? argghhh!
i think you may have mixed up the themes a bit. I'm pretty sure this should be the main theme, and what you listed as the mission 3 theme should play here.
The themes are in the right order, however the Japanese version has the themes in a different order and I don't know about the US version. I have the European version and this is the correct order.
@trucksoner You're right :) I had the U.S. version as a kid. I didn't know until watching the Japanese version last night on youtube that it's different that way, too!
No, this IS the mission 3 music. I know it sounds the same, but it was just made that way. I remember playing this mission as a kid and saying "Hey, isn't this the theme song".
A good Double Dragon fan will recognize this tune as the main theme. A true Double Dragon fan knows this is the main theme for the three previous games, but not for Super Double Dragon.
i apologize if i offended you, but i hadn't played the game in years when i posted that comment and had been listening to the japanese soundtrack, in which this IS the main theme.
on that note, a TRUE double dragon fan would know that this would have been the main theme in the finished version of the game if they hadn't rushed it.
No problem with me. I actually don't mind being corrected. I thought I was an excellent double dragon fan since I own the 3 on NES and Super Double Dragons on the SNES. Oh, and the 5th fighting version on the Genesis.
I must say, good job and thank you for that lesson! :)
Naw, he's right. This is the 5th mission on the SNES Super Double Dragon game.
It's just that it was a re-make of the main theme.
