It's true about being true to yourself and your animal (I have a giant dog). Sometimes being true is baby talking, sometimes it's showing discontent, sometimes it's being enthusiastic about a behavior. Still I have to control myself and not allow myself to get carried away by my emotions, negative or positive. This, my dog wouldn't understand. I think that's what you mean.
