The point of the message from the other video was that you are lucky to live in a home with air condition, electricity, a way to get home and to school, work, etc, and grocery stores that you can get your food from, plus the latest technology of t.v., phones, etc. The problem lies in the media who does nothing but show more greed, who has what, instead of showing who does not have anything.

i live in the richest county in the world, which is fairefield county, in ct, in usa.....i give 10% of my earnings to poor poeple, and i get alot of money from babysitting, good for you, i do many things to help people, too!

I think what you do is the biggest problem. because just giving MONEY, in my opinion, is only for lazy ass people, who think they are doing much of their lifes by just giving the kids money. i am not saying that money doesn't count, it does, but that doesn't mean you are immune from being a bad person :)

i am 11, what else can i do, my parents wont pay for plane tickets to africa, are you kidding me!!! we go once a year to Israel, help there with wars and visit bunks, we do alot more, but i cant change the idea my parents wont pay for one person's ticket....

you are funny. denmark's social welfare system is indeed commendable. and denmark is also among the most generous foreign aid contributors at 9% of GDP vs. 2% for the US. i never said otherwise. my point was that poverty exists in all countries, including denmark. you can argue the exact percentage. you can argue how poverty is defined. but you cannot argue that poverty does not exist in your country. you're pretty emotional for a dane ;)

do you understand what a percentage is? no there are not more poor children in denmark because there are fewer people in denmark. but as a percenge of population, child poverty is roughly the same. that was my only point. btw, denmark is one of my favorite countries. i do not lie. you are pc literate and can easily check the statisitics for yourself.

Wow. I completely agree with you. I moved to America from a third world country and saw so much difference here. Some people take for granted that technology here evolves much quicker than in other countries... Mcdonalds around the corner, electricity... I'm so glad that someone shares my viewpoint in these issues...

Having been to the poorest parts of the Philippines and having stayed with the people, they seem a lot happier than we are in a lot of regards.

yes! i love that! that's exactly why we shouldn't be unappreciative. because they ARE. they're happier with less. in theory, everyone should live more simply, but for now, getting everyone out of a dangerous level of famine/poverty etc is a good goal

I also reckon the satrical nature of the video gave it that edge. Cutting between scenes of affluent Australia and poverty stricken countries really worked well.

Yes, I agree with tastethepain28. Though, we don't have to live more simply. We just have to live more apreciativly, more open eyed, and care-free of who has the best stuff. But living a more simple life would kinda be more fun. That means more kids on the street I could play with. & I'm not 10. I'm goin into 8th gr. and I'd rather play outside with a complanion than sit at the computer all day.
