Is this true? If it is I would like to see a poll of first time registered voters.

Another factor of the lower numbers for Obama and possibly for alternative candidates such and Nader and Barr is that many people who are supporting these candidates are younger voters who may not have landlines. The laws in place disallow pollsters from calling cell phones so you have a larger number of older and more likely republican people being sampled.

One poll follows the other is simply not true. All of the polls base their research independently. Take Democracy Corps for example (founded by James Carville, a liberal). No where on his site does he say he follows suit with Gallup. They do their own research.

Now, that is not to say your beef with Gallup is without merit but it is incorrect to be suggesting that how Gallup goes so do the rest of the polls. There is no evidence.
