@etsvilik Is it very very expensive. My house is 12 years old and the floors are in great condition expect foe a few scratches here and there, and I am told they are hard wood floors so is IT possible to do it (medallions/designs) on HW floors as opposed to doing it on a brand new laminate floor/ My husband seems to think that the floors do not need replacing, but i would love some inlays/ Also, is it very expensive to have them refinished by a professional...that's what I heard. Thanks
@1blondflwr Compared to making complex inlays refinishing floors is rather easy and even a DIY job if you do research. The real difficulty is choosing finishes and maintaining it between your typical poly solvent based materials UV cured, and moisture cured choices which are more complex to handle. Water based Varathane at your local store is simple to use. Inlay flooring can be easy when using simple and elegant designs and dropping it in but complex cuts/colors are MUCH more difficult and art.
Amazing work, and if I may- mention that I believe you used every wipe/transition available to your video editing software- several times, which frankly distracts at best and detracts at worst, from the incredible prowess that you possess in your woodworking... Just sayin'...
@croakerchoker504 alot of them are big pieces of wood that are very expensive!! you can make alot of these with separate pieces of wood but it is very hard to do.
Must be nice to have a CNC machine, but i rather consider myself a real floorman and do all my custom work by skill of hand, No doubt these floors are amazing gets my vote for best cnc work of the year. keep it real.....Rode Bros. since 1930
@olskoolbmxer I understand not everyone appreciates CNC work, but on a lot of large jobs such as these, the leadtimes to do so by hand would be impractical in today's world. Customers want their product as fast as possible and yet want to maintain the quality. To do so requires some methods which incorporate automation.
@olskoolbmxer .. ya, this is the modern world.. you can't do stuff like this by hand anymore.. for 1, the customer won't wait that long and 2, you won't live long enough to finish the thing.. save the hand work for your girl's jewelry box

Can these be done on a hard wood floor that is already installed?

@1blondflwr Most medallions and borders can be installed into existing floors.
