  • I'm brand new to Blender modeling in general. I'm using Blender 2.58 and this "multires" area is nowhere to be found. I've searched all over the net and all over Blender. Where can I find these multire settings that seem to just be right there, available for you? Thanks!

  • thanks for the great audio and clear screen!!!

  • Thank you so much for this. I had Blender before but gave up on it cause it was just ssooo confusing. Very easy tutorial especial since I'm brand spankin new to Blender and always wanted to try my hands on 3D modeling.

  • I think it's pronouced multi-res, but i cud be wrong. But thats besides the point, great tutorial bud! :P

  • For some reason the sculpt tool seems to fight me every step of the way when I am trying to make the torso.

  • "multi-rez" as in multiple resolutions, not "multears" :)

  • i got lost when i couldnt find apply multires. i have a different version of blender...

  • I can't find the multiers on my blender.

  • @tubfy Its under your modifiers, im guessing your using the 2.50 version

  • where the hell can i find this version? i have some new confusing one

  • How to use 'multires' and add levels in 2.5:

While in any mode, click the 'Modifier' button on your right just below the scene browser. It's in the row of buttons just beneath it. The button looks like a wrench. Click Add Modifier. Click on Multiresolution. In the modifier window click on Subdivide to add a level.

    /dance

  • @Lighthammer18 dude THANK YOU

  • @Lighthammer18 for some reason while in sculpt mode, at least, i cant use ctrl z to undo mistakes.

  • @Lighthammer18 in 2.5 to add multiers u have to go to object mode and on ur right in the second tool box click on the blue rench and then click on add modifier and then click on subdivision surface and then to change the level click on the view to change the level. and u must click apply in order to back to edit more or any other mode.

  • Where can I find this sculpt mode I've looked lots of things in the software but it's not there, what's the problem? D:

  • im stuck on how to add multires there is no option for that.

  • OMG! Does you Mother in Law have a chine like this?

  • You can't make models which are suitable for games with sculpting tool, right?

  • cool tutorial, with what you taught me here i have sculpted a hand (sort of)

  • Josh your a cool dude

  • 10 things i just want to say thank you for 1. not doing anything complicated, 2.for talking at a regullar pace, 3. for making this video to help others who dont know how to use blednder to sculpt and not trying to show off your skills, 4.-10. you are a great teacher!

  • Whenever I try to sculpt, the figure dissapears. then when I stop, it reappears again...

Why does my pc hate me?

  • Awesome video, but i have a question. At 1 minute 2 seconds there is a 'multires'? button with buttons at the bottom. Where can I find that, or how can I set up my tools to fit your set up? And when I click another type of button I see my number of faces increase, but my shape remains as a cube. How do I adjust that? Thank you kindly.

  • but this vid is 3 years old so the UI could of changed since then or your is custom set.

  • i cant find multires on my interface. the interface is different to the one you have set up.

  • Idiot it's multives not multires

  • @MrTriso your the idiot, look at the software.

It's multires not multives, wtf is a multive?

Dude are you like 10 or something? What's up with your videos, thanking peopel for being your friends? That's pathetic!

  • hey i did everything you did up to the point were you first started drawing on the sphere. i did everything thing you did but the only thing i can do is grab. when i try to do any of the others it does nothing. i have the brush circle and it moves when i click bu that damn circle stays the same in smug defiance. pleeeaaase help my somebody

  • I had this same problem too! im running a mac on 10.4.11. please help us!

  • @Schjoenning96

    It's all there.

  • Thank you so much for this. I was so lost on the other tutorials on the blender site. You just made it more simpler for me to understand. Thank you so much again for putting this up!

  • Oh god now I have a BURNING temptation to spam the crap out of the add level button. >.<

Good tutorial! I would be totally lost without you!

Your voice is so soothing. :D

  • Ok this might sound like a stupid question, but... how do you zoom into your object?

  • @SyKmGl Mouse wheel.

  • @Th4Pwnz0r

Ah, I see the problem. I don't have a mouse wheel because I'm using the laptop's inbuilt mouse :P. Will buy a mouse soon.

  • @SyKmGl There's probably another way to zoom in.

I just cant be bothered to find it. xD

  • @Th4Pwnz0r

There is: the '+' key (and '-' key to zoom out). However, I'm not merely interested in zooming in and out, but in manipulating the objects freely. So far all I can do is rotate, and move the objects along the three axes individually. But I can't grab the object and move it around, or look at it from different angles.

  • What version is this? The interface looks different.

  • @LupusFang It looks like 2.46

  • Sir, I must thank you for this video.

  • @ciaran3001 hold alt and the left button and move the mouse

  • @ciaran3001 hold the middle mouse button and drag hope this helps.nn
