I just purchased this bass and I'm working on a couple things with it. Did you have any issues with the humbucker being significantly quieter than the piezzo pickups. I have the potentiometer control in the back for the piezzos turned down but still they are so much louder than the humbucker. They sound great together in your video. Im hoping that the pickup isnt bad. I tried to raise it up because it is very far from the strings but there aren't springs to adjust the height. Any thoughts?
@eek384 Follow my "position instructions" Turn knobs and potentiometers counterwise clockwise to determine their exact job and directions. I think you turned something to the wrong way. But I assume that you all tried that steps. Than, your humbucker seems to be bad. I didn't have any issues with sound levels of them. This bass has 10 knob on it, be sure with them.
@offom Thanks for the reply, I have a schematic for all the potentiometers and dials. even with the piezzo volume potentiometer turned down on the back it is still louder than the humbucker that is turned up the whole way. So this is pushing towards the pickup is bad. Thanks again for the reply.
@eek384 Just turn piezo all the way down, does humbucker sound really weak ? We know that, it shouldn't be. Easy solution. It's not growling, ok thats true but it has volume at least. Please inform me about the problem&solution.
@offom The humbucker does work all by itself with the piezzos turned down. I tore it down last night, took the humbucker out, made some rubber shims to raise the pickup about 3/8 of an inch, so it is slightly closer to the pickup. I turned the individual piezzo volumes down and worked them each up so they were equal to the humbucker volume. Then I tweaked in the bass eq on the back for the piezzos and it sounds pretty good.
@offom the original foam that held the pickup from the body was smashed way down and was not holding the pickup close enough to the strings. With the new rubber it seems to be sounding 100% better. Thanks again for all the help. Again great video, you make that bass sound great.
Nice demo, I have the same bass by the way, could you please tell me what strings did you have, and how did you record (direct or w/ amp)?
Thanx.

Do you know the width of the neck's heel?

@Twatzaki101 I don't have this bass now but I can assure you that it was the thinner, narrower and most comfortable fingerboard I have ever seen.
