It is cool that you can play Sauron but I think they should have made him a lot more powerful, on Heroic the Gondorian Captains and Ents are hard to kill and do a lot of damage to you.
Also since Sauron makes an appearance here it would be cooler if the Orcs of Mordor were besieging The Shire instead of Sarumans Uruk-Hai.

No, 1 SAuron CAN`T kill 1000 Gandalfs..... it was forbidden by the Ainur that Gandalf and SAuron fight against each other. Gandalf and SAuron are exactly same powerful. At last Gandalf the White was so powerful, that no Weapon could have killed him.
the idea of the game is to role-play.. which is nicer than the strategy game,, and much more realistic.. to be inside the movie and not above.. that sucks
@Equinigger Hi! Saruman was not a Maiar, I think Gandalf and Sauron were only Maiar in LOTR, and they are in opposite side. Saruman was only an Istari, but I don't know whether he is a man or something else.

Lol Sauron is so weak in here... A disappoint. In The Battle for Middle-earth II, he is so strong, so that he need only two or more hits to finish Gandalf...

You won't find anyone more dangerous in all of Middle Earth unless you are brought before the Dark Lord himself." Those aren't the exact words, but they're pretty close.

In the books the Nazgul fled from Gandalf in utter fear of his power. Not just at Pelennor Fields but he also took on all Nine (though presumably only 6) Nazgul at Weathertop and won before drawing them away from the trail of Frodo.
He also strove with Sauron's mind and drew his Eye away from Frodo, allowing him to escape.

For me this was soo, annoying, because i was going for the achievement where you kill gandalf as sauron, so i spawned right next to the bridge. So I run on to the bridge to be carried off by an eagle, it took 4 seconds for sauron to die -.-
Unfortunitly, no. To the best of my knowledge, you can only play as Sauron in Weathertop and the Shire in the main campain, and in Mt. Doom in instant action.

Sauron, as powerful & cool as he is, sucks to be him.
He's so slow & all he can do is whip that mace of his around.
Also, he's way too slow compared to Gandalf. I died playing as Sauron because I fell in the water & the lame things the developers created for him

@Equinigger Hi! Saruman was not a Maiar, I think Gandalf and Sauron were only Maiar in LOTR, and they are in opposite side. Saruman was only an Istari, but I don't know whether he is a man or something else.

He's almost as strong as Sauron. He says so himself to Gimli in I believe the second book. He says something along the lines of "Dangerous? I am very dangerous. You won't find anyone more dangerous in all of Middle Earth unless you are brought before the Dark Lord himself." Those aren't the exact words, but they're pretty close.

Sauron was the most powerful Maia and the leader of the Maia order, but when he forged the One Ring he became even more powerful then Morgoth the most powerful Vala, but without the ring he is much weaker... and Gandalf got great powers from Eru Ilúvatar the creator god when he returned from Moria

@butacrunk In the book, this never happens. Gandalf holds the Witch King off before he retreats to face the Riders.
In the books the Nazgul fled from Gandalf in utter fear of his power. Not just at Pelennor Fields but he also took on all Nine (though presumably only 6) Nazgul at Weathertop and won before drawing them away from the trail of Frodo.
He also strove with Sauron's mind and drew his Eye away from Frodo, allowing him to escape.

The Valar are the Gods of the Tolkein's world and they had no fear of Sauron.
He is strong, but the Valar the ultimate embodiment of Light and Good. Saruman and Morgoth both hated and feared Varda, Queen of the Stars, especially.

For me this was soo, annoying, because i was going for the achievement where you kill gandalf as sauron, so i spawned right next to the bridge. So I run on to the bridge to be carried off by an eagle, it took 4 seconds for sauron to die -.-

Unfortunitly, no. To the best of my knowledge, you can only play as Sauron in Weathertop and the Shire in the main campain, and in Mt. Doom in instant action.
