@cisspcism - I probably had Mids around 6...and Treble around 7. I miss this amp. I traded it like an idiot. I do like the AFD100 but it has no clean channel.

@PinkyWontWork - no doubt! Some guy had Richie Sambora Strat that I needed to have...ironically I sold the Strat not long after. The AFD100 is working really well for me. It's really awesome.

@cisspcism - Yes, I ended up getting a Suhr Koko Boost in the end and that allowed me to turn down the gain and added a mid-boost tightness that I couldn't get with the amp alone.

@denmut - yo dude. it's bedroom level...this amp has a fx loop master volume that allows you to crank the amp at low volumes....

Well to each his own I guess, but for me it is overkill and to much distortion tends to cover up mistakes and makes a person more sloppy in the long run. Less is more if you ask me. I try to get most of my drive from my picking technique.

I don't think its compression. I think its you're amp EQ settings. Sounds like you like to scoop the mids also.

ahhh, turn the gain back to around 2-3 at maximum. That is why it is so muddy sounding. You will never find Rebs gain that high nor the presense. Presence should be around 2-3 max as well. I personally play my gains more around 12-1 and presence around the same for rhythms and a tad more for lead but never over on all my boutique amps. Watch my vid, the gain is at 4 on a line-6 piece of junk practice amp no pedals and plenty of overdrive.
