Go to a doctor for a compressed spine and they will prescribe you muscle relaxants. Go to a good chiropractor and you'll get an uncompressed spine. These examples are my first hand experiences. Your arguments, are exactly the same as Pen and tellers. We've already heard them watching their show.
I have gone to the chiropractor before, when my neck actually did hurt. And they actually did make my neck feel better. However, I also noticed the bullshit papers around the office telling me how adjustments can make my children not need immunizations, keep me from getting the flu, and a whole lot of other garbage that I knew was utterly fake. I didn't go for that junk, I just went for my sore neck.
Reflexology is nonsense, but stress and anxiety do weaken the immune system. This happens if you aren't getting the amount of sleep your body needs to recover from the work it does during the day. But this has nothing to do with reflexology or anything like it.
Alternative healing is in direct competition with the pharmaceutical industrys remedial treatments like muscle relaxants and pain killers. If the pharmaceutical Industry sends Doctors on golf trips you can safely bet both kidneys that they will sponsor Pen, Teller and anyone else who can successfully promote over the counter drugs.
I've received immediate and long term relief from pinched nerves, backaches and sports injuries from Chiropractors. These injuries did not fix themselves.
This has nothing to do with valid eastern medicine (by valid, I mean scientifically proven successful)
These are just hack practices, like a lot of the new age crap which is purely based on "mental masturbation" claims with no scientific evidence backing up what it preaches. Money hungry people aren't just in the big industries...
I've been using a chiropractor since I was 10 for my frequent headaches. I'm 15, and it works, at least for me. HOWEVER, I only go once every 2 months, and it is not a full-out cure.
@HillChris1234 it does work, actually. They even say themselves that it does seem to work for problems with the spine, and that's where my headaches come from. So actually, it does. Also, about the whole "doctor" thing, THEY'RE THE ONE THAT SENT ME THERE. So, kiss my ass and actually listen to them.
@iLOVEpicklesBRO28 Consider this, that woman" studying" to be a reflexologist is a registered nurse. That means she at least has some kind of knowledge of real medicine, but was still unable to notice how bullshit reflexology is. If she can make that kind of mistake in judgement, there isn't much to stop a doctor from doing the same.
why not just do light yoga and stretching in the morning instead of getting yanked about so roughly?
I'm never going to a chiropractic 'doctor' again.

@celardweller The trick is *finding* the good chiropractor. Notice that in the episode, quack chiropractic claims are debunked *by a chiropractor*.

In all fairness $55 for an hour long foot massage is not the worst deal in history.....

@puertoricofree This is true, if it's a good one - and if they didn't tell you bullshit about it.

@shrikechan I disagree - I'm sick less than anyone I know, and I get the least sleep of anyone I know (5-5.5 hours a night)

@celardweller everyone would agree with you that pinched nerves, bad backs and muscular problems can be helped through chiropractors. not cancer!

@iLOVEpicklesBRO28 Placebo. And, once every 2 months... someone's ripping you off. Go to a real doctor and find a real cure.
