I remember when Crucial Conflict came to the Apollo back in 96. These cats crushed NYC (my hometown). Hip-hop heads understand where I am coming from. This was at a time when if you weren't a NY artist - no one in NY was checking for you. Crucial handled their business and were one of the few artists not from NY or LA that got radio play on HOT97. They paid MORE than their share of dues. I respect Lupe for showing tribute to a group out of the Chi that helped pave a way for him in hip-hop.
