  • I got to be in this as an extra, it was awesome!!!

  • I understand how the spears are activated when he steps on a pad, but what are they made of?

  • How'd they do the effect where the big guy beating on Indy is killed by the propellor of the plane?

  • @thatkrazyguyukno He drops through the floor(trap door) And the smoke covers him.

  • i got to meet this guy after the show!!!!!

  • This looks better than the movie! I wonder which part of the act Mr. Varbanov died? RIP Anislav.

  • Comment removed

  • I heard he was killed doing a tumble during the Cairo acrobat scene.

  • hey anyone notice how indys Right arm jacket side has gotten worn due to it being rubed against that huge boulder for so many years.

and the boulder is only rubber lol!

  • some of the indy's let the boulder actually ride thier shoulder. great affect, rough on the costumes :)

  • are they still doing this? is it at disneyland or disneyworld?

  • world at mgm studios but Correct me if im wrong but they might replace it with the ride but they also been talking about doing that for years :P

  • yes

  • nice day out,

    ;)

  • i had front row for the show and it was spectcular

  • i hate this! even thought hes a realllllly cute boy!

  • hahaha coinspin you mean Ray? He plays Indy and he's a really cool guy... Ray Eady... don't know if i spelled it right. He comes out every year to Apex HS to help with our marching band. You might also know him from that geico commercial with "all my new toys, oh and this sweet new protection plan i got for them" or something along those lines. He is even hosting a marching band camp this year during the summer. Awesome guy!

  • Ray Eddy

  • after i saw this show i just sat down until every1 else was gone then i saw the guy who was putting the idol back and he actually let me hold the idol!

  • I saw this when I was little in 1995. It was because of this show that I am a Indy Addict! ^-^

For some reason though I could have sworn that the plane at the end exploded. Of course I was only 5.

  • the plane didnt explode

  • Wait until AVGN sees it next!

  • i can forgive the costume but not that airplane........still looks like a fun job

  • Gearheads, why did it have to be gearheads?

  • This guy is doing an amazing show that he has to do multiple times a day every day... and your complaining that his costume is slightly off? seriously, get a life.

  • ya, really, you know how dangerous that stuff is, I mean, if he fell, he coud break his neck!

  • I worked at this show for 2 and a half months last november-january.. not as actor, but at the thater itself.. seating everyone and being sometimes the bad guy not letting people seat on the satircase and so.. It holds 2085 guests! hehe Acctually, at Christmas week we made some magic holding 2300 gusts at the 2 o'clock show. It was crazy! I missit though! Saw the show at least 100 times.. I love it!

  • I've seen this stunt show at last 8 or 9 times when i was around 4 to 13 years old. And every time I loved it. Indy is my hero. And a lot of people are bitching about his costume? He's got the whip and fedora, the epic score, and a giant freakin' boulder chasing him, what more do you want? If you think their costumes are cheap why don't YOU pony up the money for a quality costume? They do stunts in them anyway, why would you want to ruin something of such high quality?

  • griefcomics=I agree, Indy is my action hero, and to those who are complaining about the costume? Why don't you frekin talk to Speilberg about getting one of your own! So stop complaining! I know someone who pays GOOD MONEY to look just like Harrison's role of Indy. And lemme tell you, it's a LOT of money ppl. So Stop complaining!

  • In defense of drwynn - he does own a quality costume. He has 2 hats from AdventureBilt and Peters Brothers and he also has a Westead jacket, Morgan whip, autentic shirt from Todds costumes and everything else. So he did "pony up" already.

  • Ok.. I will agree that the costume is bad.( personally an Adventurebilt [which I own] would not be a terrible idea.. neither would a wested but..thats beside the point) but the acting and energy of the show is even worse. yes.. it has to be safe, but the seven times i`ve seen the show every action looks like " the same ole song and dance" for the stunt performer. THAT is my problem with the show..

  • Elwood...

Come see MY show. I perform 15 stunt shows a week as hard and as intensely as possible. I have been there since 1990. I perform with constant pain derived from 18 years of pounding.

  • Tell me to my face that my show lacks energy. Tell the 20 year veteran Indy, who is just as passionate as I am about our performance, that he plays safe. Tell the tumblers, who work in 99 degree heat with 90 per cent humidity, that it's the same old song and dance. Tell the kids that line up 20 deep to get autographs, that YOU can do a better job.

  • There are PLENTY of places to pick up a quality reproduction of the iconic Indiana Jones fedora and they can all be found online. In fact, one of them, AdventureBilt Hats, was chosen by Spielberg himself to produce the fedoras for the upcoming "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". Any hat-maker who specializes in reproducing the fedora (Peters Bros. in Texas, Adventurebilt Hats, etc.) could've provided authentic looking hats for the show.

  • Ok here's my take. I'm also a performer in this show. I'm not an Indy or a tumbler but I know what these costumes go through in ONE day. I give you tons of props for knowing your stuff as it regards to your career. BUT, you must have some business sense and have to realize that you CAN'T get an exact replica or something too close when you do 5 shows a day sometimes 7 shows a day 365 days a year. It just doesn't make business sense.

  • The costumes are worn thin ripped and torn during all the rough and tumble of a show, so maybe they don't always look their best. I know Epic BadGuy personally, and he would put the INdy's through a beating. It is just blatant that you don't know what you are talking about here. The original Marion costume wasn't authentic, but they changed that recently, at great cost, to try to make it so.

  • Yeah, you're right. I have no idea what I'm talking about. I've only beeen researching the costume and a dedicated Indy fan for going on 25 years now. I KNOW this costume from head to toe...I KNOW all the details...I know ALL of the information regarding the original costume manufacturers. I know the exact specs of the costume. When I saw the show...the costume didn't match up. It might have been altered since 2001...but when I saw the show in that year, the costume looked bad.

  • Also...perhaps I didn't articulate this clearly, but, I wasn't trying to debate "quality"...I was trying to debate authenticity. The hat, one of the most iconic parts of Indy's costume, is not authentic. The crown isn't tall enough, the brim dimensions are wrong, the pinch isn't tight enough...I could go on for a while, but I'll spare you the nerdy details.

  • Whatever. I'm done with this "debate"...I'm letting it go. As I said, I have nothing but tremendous respect for all the performers involved. I just wish the Indy costume was more authentic, that's all. I know of what I speak. You can believe me or not, it's your choice. No need to resort to insults, personal attacks, etc. I wish you all peace.

  • It's not a matter of believing you dude, it's that you're arguing with the people who worked on the show. I worked on it too. Those jackets are genuine leather. I teched the show, and handled the props. The jackets aren't cheap knock-offs. They are genuine leather and expensive. They go through a lot of wear and tear during a stunt show that is sometimes done in tremendously bad weather.

  • The whips were the responsibility of the Props coordinator and I worked with him frequently. The other price quoted is low, the ones that we would order would be on the order of over $600 and you have to make them last. Show after show after show. The shirts and pants for Indy are patched by team of costumers.

  • I'm not debating that the jackets aren't "genuine leather". I'm arguing that they look bad...they don't look authetic to the jackets Indy wore. They don't look like the original Westead leather jackets that Ford wore. The ones worn by the stunt guys in the show are either too big or missing vital details that make Indy's jacket look so unique. Now, they may have altered things recently...but, when I saw the show in 2001 the costume looked bad.

  • OK, OK! I AM the BAD GUY from this show, I HAVE been her at EPIC since 1990. None of us are ex-SWAT members. Teh costumes are made by Disney to the original specs. The whips are expensive and the real thing. The hats are produced in a cookie-cutter fashion, but what do you want? Weshould go to Lucas' house and steal the real one? C'mon! Nothing is cheap or cut rate there COMIC-BOOK Guy!

  • First of all...you assume I'm a "Comic Book Guy" because I know a ton about Indiana Jones. You assume wrong.

Second, the whips are close. The jackets are always WAY too big and have some details missing. Trust me.

I don't expect anyone to STEAL the actual hat. But, it is possible to get better looking replicas & not use the mass-produced crap. The mass-produced hats are "cut-rate", as are the jackets, pants, and some of the shirts I've seen used. Sorry. Truth hurts.

  • Maybe I was a little too harsh. Not "everything" is cut-rate, & the show is entertaining enough for most. Also, I give props to anyone involved because I know it takes talent, training, and a lot of hard work. But, it is possible for someone like me (who considers themselves an expert on Indiana Jones) to make critiques of certain elements of the show without people involved taking it "personally", which it seems some people have.

  • The worst part about the Disney stunt show is that they once again make a ton of cash by capitalizing on something brilliant and doing it "cheaply". What do I mean? The hat, jacket, bullwhip...everything is cut-rate, second-hand garbage. None of it is authentic. If I want to feel like I'm actually seeing Indiana Jones in action...he'd better damn well look JUST like him!

  • It's all quality stuff. Maybe not just like the original gear but you have to take into account the fact that it is a stunt show and those clothes have to take a big beating day in and day out. I agree, the pants aren't so hot. I had at least three or four sets of the costume when I worked there as Indy. The whip is far from cut-rate garbage, that's a $250 Australian whip, I would of loved to have taken one of those home. The show was the highlight of my life.

  • Dude, you may have worked there...and I'm not trying to "slight" you or the other brave actors who perform as Indiana in the show. What I AM saying is that no matter what you or anyone else says, the costume is CRAP. The hat is one of the mass-produced ones that doesn't have anywhere NEAR the right shape or blocking. The jacket is a cheap knock-off as well. Ok...maybe the whip is SOMEWHAT accurate...but, it's still not near the level of quality it should be.

  • Dude, you may have worked in the show, and I'll give you tremendous respect for that. But, the costume is still made up of cut-rate stuff. The hat is one of those mass-produced jobs that doesn't have even close to the correct shape or blocking of the original. The jacket is too big and also not correct. The whip may be CLOSE...but, it's still not accurate enough.

  • And before you go claim I don't know of what I speak. Believe me, I do. I've appeared as Indiana Jones multiple times. I have a screen-accurate costume that cost me well over $1000. Hat- $260 Jacket- $260. Bullwhip- made by the ACTUAL manufacturer of the ones in the first three films; David Morgan kangaroo hide 16-plait 10 foot Australian bullwhip, $500. THAT'S what you call a REAL bullwhip.

  • As far as the clothes "taking a beating"; the stuntmen in the films wear the same quality stuff that Harrison Ford does, and their outfits last through multiple takes and days of usage.

Disney could do it right if they wanted to pony up the cash to do so. But, they'd rather do it cut-rate and half-assed mediocre. They get no respect from me. Sorry.

  • If Disney gets no respect from you then I guess George Lucas doesn't either. He approves the shows content and has seen it several times. I think if someone is going to say something about it...it would be him.

  • Well, everyone knows that Lucas (even though I love his creations and consider him to be a brilliant storyteller) is sort of "waning" in his later years. Also, I wouldn't expect him to make a fuss. After all, if it's good enough for the masses and it's cost efficient, it's good enough for him.

I'm just saying that for an Indy purist and enthusiast like me, it's NOT good enough.

  • So I guess you need to complain about the mastermind behind this brilliant franchise also. Maybe write Disney and Lucas a letter or something. So where do you appear as Indy and how many times have you almost taken your eye out with that beautiful whip?

  • I've appeared as Indy at various past public functions for corporations. They'd have a "jungle" or "adventure" themed party and want someone to appear as the "beefcake" to smile at the ladies, hand out drinks or tickets, etc. Also, I've done a couple of parades and won several major costume contests in the outfit.

Haven't cut myself with the whip yet. I've used one since I was 7 and have had a lot of practice. Cheers!

  • Another poser and wannabee posting his "opinion!" We are seeding Hollywood with our performers. We do in a week in our show, what a over-achieving Hollywood stunt-guy does in a YEAR! Our alumni are the Cream of the Crop! We have several Tarus winners (awarded for Best Stunt or Stunt Performer in film) and a few that have become the top of their selected specialty! We ARE the real deal!

  • I wasn't criticizing the performers. And I'm not a "wanna-be". I have, mor will I ever have any intention of being a stunt performer. As I said, I have tremendous respect for the individuals involved in the show. It's just that a lot of the costume elements involved appear to not be authentic. And, like I said, I am an expert on the Indiana Jones costume. I've done years of research and I know of what I speak. You don't need to take my critique of the costume personally.

  • Cool, that sounds like a cool costume. Everyone has their passions. Out of curiosity, where have you made appearances as Indy?

  • well im not the greatest gymnast or anything special but to be in something like that would be great

  • From someone who has worked there, it is a LOT of hard work, and I only did Tech work and sweated my but off. The stunt performers really have to put in a hard day. You have to be 18 years old and have a strong gymnastics background, tumbling backflips...etc so practice now if you want to do it. With a 4th movie coming out this show should be around for quite a while. Check the disney auditions site for info

  • i would love to be the indiana jones stuntman for this show. but thats a great show.

  • yeah i hope i get the stuntman job too

  • wicked show, gota love disney, maybe one day ill be a stuntman in that show, i hope
