@repomayne I think Resident Evil would have died if they hadn't changed the franchise for part 4. I also miss the old, random camera-angle RE games. When RE 1 came out, it was like nothing I'd ever seen...and Code:Veronica will always rank high in my list of favorite games. That said...I REALLY loved 4, enjoyed 5, and I'm pretty excited about 6...but it does look too much like GOW, and I do hope they don't switch it completely to a cover-based action/shooter.

@fanofPantera Resident evil died at RE5 because of the big change. Sure RE4 was similar but at least it was somewhat scary. Capcom changed it into an action shooter because that's just what people are into now a days but it's just ridiculous. That's why you got other companies showing Capcom how to make a survival horror game. And actually yeah it looks really identical to Gears of war.

You want true survival horror, don't play Resident Evil. Play one of the zombie challenges in TimeSplitters and try to survive the level.

Think about it guys, the original RE games didn't have waves of enemies, just the occasional few zombies or mutants. The horror of the classic RE games is when something unexpected happens such as Nemesis busting through a wall or an area people think is safe than dogs come bursting through the windows. That's not survival.

@TheRandomSweed I HAVE played them and actually PREFER the originals. Why? Because the new ones are more level based 3rd person shooter games, the originals had adventure game elements such as exploration, puzzle solving, and unraveling mysteries.

And don't say, "it's not adventure, it's survival horror" as "horror" is a theme of graphics and sound. I have FPS games with a WW2 theme and made it horror just by changing graphics and sound, leaving gameplay style untampered.

Gameplay style looks more of Capcoms "Lost Planet" with Capcoms"resident evil" mixed. Squad based gameplay, resident evil 6, is this trailer which you have seen. Might be going back to the "resident evil 4 and 5" style gameplay. Leon faces zombies, Chris humans-zombies, New character? I know Ada has to be in here, she likes to stalk Leon -_^ lol

Nothing new to the canon that we don't already know, but this takes a new approach as we see through the eyes of those parties.

Honestly I applaud capcom for finally stepping into the real world with the live action sequences and fast paced gameplay, they are finally using elements from successful games such as deadspace, left for dead, and call of duty, which all rely on quick responses such as would be encountered in real life. I'm glad it broke away from the 3rd person static camera where you watched an enemy drag his way slowly towards you and you had 25 seconds to aim and shoot. Kudos capcom, RE6 will be the shit.
