  • "God gave me this MS shit to save my life."--- Richard Pryor

One of my favorite quotes as I have MS as well.

  • THIS WAS AMAZING..

  • The most respected and well known comedian of all time and deserving of the title LEGENDARY also we cant forget about dick gregory :)

  • Thanks for uploading! Richard Pryor = THE man!

  • 9:07 hear it and feel it let that light burn bright x

  • 8:34 the truth will set us all free x

  • brilliantbrilliantbrilliant

  • Thanks mate! Well done! that was fantastic!!

  • Ooooooooh I shed a tear

  • look at that Jesse Jackson. I just want to cut his dick off!

  • not to big up my own country too much but the BBC always seems to make the best documentaries, have watched a lot of American ones as well and i think because an hour programme stateside tends to be shorter (because of their constant commercial breaks) some of them tend to miss the mark, as a Welsh kid growing up Richard i felt gave me an edge on humor that a lot of kids my age never had, Pryor,Hicks,Carlin,Bruce all great truth telling comics all gone but never forgotten

  • This brightened my day and was a gift to me. Thank you so much!!!

  • BRAVO! BRAVO! All six parts of this was very appropriate. And just seeing Sir Lenny with all those American Greats was an even greater treat!

It would've been even COOLER if Sir Lenny was with Eddie (or even Charlie) Murphy in this docko!

My thanks to you for posting this! I will watch again.

  • his daughter got his eyes, it is strange, the son look more like hootie and the blowfish

  • @cvhf650 lol his daughter looks just like him your right she had his jaw line any everything :P x

  • @mjluvx Rain has his face shape and skin tone. But his son looks just like him, nose and eyes. I think most are looking at skintone when they say his daughter looks more like him.

  • Richard Pryor was the best, hands down. I can't think of another that can even come close. Murphy is not even a close second

  • @cvhf650 I agree but eddie murphy is behind chris rock and he obviously studied richard to the t

  • @MegaSketty eddie murphy studied pryor, chris rock studied murphy. That's how this works

  • @Lonao Yeah maybe so not really on it as I am not that into but in my opinion eddie murphy is old hat chris rock rocks but richie pryor rules - oh and MY OPINION is MINE and its VALID before you come back with some comedy knowhow

  • @Lonao kind of narrow minded there dude, Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock drew from a massive amount of comedic talent that came before them, granted Pryor was probably the biggest influence on both of them but you make it sound as if they just blatantly set out to do Richards act which im sorry is just untrue

  • @lickstickly ofc it's untrue, luckily i never claimed such thing. I do some stan up myself too, i watch alot of comedians, on yotube, live etc. Learning from somebodys stand up-act doesnt mean you have to copy him.

  • @Lonao fair enough, do some open mike myself and if your gonna steal, steal from the best

  • @MegaSketty Chris Rock isn't nuthin to eddie murphy, oh and richard's daughter can get it. Who's wit me??

  • @MegaSketty Chris rock?CRIS ROCK? HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

    1.richard pryor

    2.eddie murphy

    3.dave chappell

    4.jim carey

    5.chris rock

  • @markeithmm89 Its my opinion ok made it months ago and I have moved on to other things I LOVE RICHARD PRYOR FOLLOWED BY CHRIS ROCK HELL FUCKING YES its my opinion and I love it dont reply as I will not change my mind and I am to be honest not interested

  • @markeithmm89 Please allow me MY opinion. This You Tube is so depressing. I stand by my personal preference. Allow. I allow yours.

  • Simply a great great man. A genius and master of his craft. He's the standard by which other stand ups should be judged, but I'm not sure there are any in the same league.

  • love dick gregory. what a beautiful way to end this

  • Thanks for posting this

  • Thank you for these postings. Rest In Peace, Mr. Pryor.

  • That was a profound jewell Dick Gregory dropped at the end. R.I.P. Richard Pryor the greatest comedian ever. I even noticed that not only was he the first to play all these different parts in one movie he had the one glove before Mike! L.O.L.

  • Great doco, Richard Pryor was a natural born comedian, in my eyes the best comedian that ever lived.

    R.I.P Rich.

  • That was a nice speech at the end.

  • excelent program thnx for posting this whole program, quality watch of a world class comiedian,R.I.P. RICHARD PRYOR!!!!!!

  • Truly the Greatest. There needs to a biopic about him. Get Steve Harvey to play him in later life

  • Thank you for upping this, I had best go watch that "Star Bar" sketch again. Magic :)

  • I was born in 78 and never really got the chance to experience this mans legacy and works but i ordered all his albums after viewing this and will try to see all of his movies. The greatest that ever did it!

  • rich PICKs E UP WHENEVER IM FEELING DOWN THE SPIRIT AND THE COURAGE MAKES MY LOVE LIFE GREAT POST

  • All six parts of this made for wonderful viewing, and gave a lot of insight to someone I grew up with, admired, and even for where some of my own humor is concerned--emulated. It was great to have seen this, and I want to thank any/all involved for putting it up here for all of us.

  • I saw Richard Pryor on an episode of a bad sitcom called Malcolm and Eddie (starring Eddie Griffin and some guy called Malcolm) just before he died, and it was really, really depressing. I got the feeling he was only on the programme because the two stars had wanted to pay tribute to him, because they had both taken their styles from him. He couldn't remember his lines, quite clearly. It might well have been the thing Paul Mooney mentions here, in fact. There might be a clip of it somewhere...

  • well eddie went on to become one of the best comics of our error so thats tribute enough.

  • Kudos and appreciation for posting this gift. Thank you, thank you!

  • To find humour int the (painful) truth is a very special and beautiful thing.

    One of God's own prototypes.

    RIP Richard

  • he was and still is The Best... RIP

  • Again, thanks for the upload. He'll be missed but live on in his films and audio recordings for generations to come.

  • great show. thanks for the upload & thanks to whoever found the missing parts.

  • my parents had the "He's a crazy nigger" album

my brothers and sister did the same thing listening and laughing without our parents knowing ...........or maybe they did know

Nonetheless Richard Pryor will live on forever

  • What a great special :) I like that they examined more of his comedy than spending TOO MUCH time dissecting his personal life. Made it more meaningful. Great post, thank you :)

  • Thank you so much for posting the documentry. You get major points. Thank you

  • This was a great documentary. Thanks for posting it!

  • thanks for the post ish

  • the original richy rich

  • Richard Pryor will always be a legend.

  • As Whoopie says, Richard Pryor....The Truth!! Best description of the most talented performer ever!! Big shout out to Ish for posting the series...sensational!

  • awesome, thank you for posting!!

  • couldnt of put better myself knoh ty for posting

  • I just watched the whole thing from part 1 to part 6, learned SO much about Pryor. You're a real class for posting this here, Ish0tJR <3

  • dick gregory put it so well

  • YOu know, I never usually get affected by the passing of someone famous but was genuinely upset when Richard died. I find it difficult to watch images of him suffering withthe MS and prefer to re-watch him in anything he did. Saw his first stand up video when just a kid and it is testament that his comedy could reach a white middle-class British kid every bit as much as the Afro-American audience that much of his material related to. That is comedy genius. So yeah, thanks for posting these :-)

  • Appreciate you posting this to share with us. You good people.

    We love you Richard

    Miss ya light, man.

  • Dick Gregory is so eloquent. He's just awesome.

  • wow..... i think the final comment was sooo true. i feel the same.

PRYOR IS A TRUE KING OF COMEDY!!!!

  • thanks "IshOtJR" for posting this

  • The name of the song at the end is Trouble man buy marvin gaye

  • Wow... the guy at 9:06 bears a striking resemblance to Teen Wolf.

  • i did not know that he suffered from MS.

  • Duh...

  • I had no idea pryor died in 2005.I liked him but i never realy followed much of what he did and i only saw "Live in concert" and "On the sunset strip" and thought he died in the 90's or somewhere around that time but after seing this documentry i want to see more of him.

  • his childhood messed him up

  • could sombody post the name of that groovey tune at the credits

  • I think its Curtis Mayfield

  • its marvin gaye, cant remember the name of the song though

  • The tune is "Trouble Man" by Marvin Gaye. It was a single and also the title track from the movie soundtrack of "Trouble Man".

  • Awesome

  • Well done "IshOtJR"

  • Richie was the best ever

  • ahh - pure genius, how good it is though we can look back and watch him.. ;)

  • thank you for sharing that Ish0tJR

Richard Pryor was simply the best

    J.

  • ; _ ;

  • Rest in Peace Legend!!!

While we have a "coke and a smile" and laugh our asses off!..

    You were the best!.

    Blessed.

  • Thank you so much for this tribute. Richard Pryor was comedy personified. I love what Dick Gregory had to say - "When I buy that candle is, yes, light it and enjoy the flame. I don't want to know what went into it, I don't want to know who made it, all I want to do is enjoy the flame and I know when I take this flame into a dark room, it lightens up the room. That's what Richard did to my spirit and to my soul." Miss you, Richard!

  • R.I.P. Richard, you were a mountain among men who brought joy and laughter where there was none. May your soul be blessed throughout eternity.

    Thanks for the post...

  • what dick gregory said is the shit....i got a tear down my face...lol

    R.I.P Richard

  • Thanks for the post.

  • So many people have copied his style.

  • yeah they have, imitation is the sincerest form of flatery. and his style, his story telling ability is one worthy of copying.

  • R.I.P Richard the world is a better place for having had you in it.

  • Wow, I'm bummed. I never knew he died...;)

Actually, It's true, he never died. You're watching him right now...

  • AMAZING. Thanks for posting this.

  • Great post. Great man.

  • o, ok my bad, sarichyboy. and yeah i agree abt pryor--the man had a genuinely good heart...a real rarity in a society of hatred.

  • what!? when i said psycho-racist, i was referring not to richard pryor but to some poster on youtube. the poster was making inflammatory remarks which were later removed. that's why you see my previous comments which seem out of context, but were actually responses to that poster. his comments were removed mine were not.

  • lol. yeah, i was aiming this comment toward some psycho-racist on here who has now been deleted. dude was way beyond "youtube argument therapy". =P

  • Fantastic. Thanks for posting this. Richard Pryor is one of my heroes. It is truly brave to put the biggest tragedies in your life, tell them to millions of people and make jokes about them.

  • Thanks

  • Thanks so much for the post. Excellent.

  • Thank you so so much

  • Richard Pryor is the best of the best, cheers for posting!

  • love richard,yo whats the name of the song at the credits

  • trouble man, marvin gaye.

  • ther will never be another Richard pryor.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing that, as far as i can see, this documentary doesn't mention the fantastic movie blue collar, which pisses over all the movies he did.

  • Trying to start arguments with strangers on YouTube is no type of therapy. GET HELP.

  • and PROUD of it!

  • NOBODY CARES
