@ghamma4r1 Horses for courses, but in general turbo diesels have more torque at lower revs. Less useless wheelspin, and more predictable power delivery. Also, if you're going on a trip outback, diesel is a MUCH safer fuel to carry with you than petrol.

prado is not a real landy,have same frame like lexus and 4 runner!!real landy now its 76,78 tropie,79 LC,also LC 79 have now air bags.best LC its LC HZJ105,have frame from 80 series.those LC have 4.2 diesel or v8 4.5l engine.LC 70 series have front rigid axle,same rear,plus leafs spring on back....prado dosnt have rigid, axle,or leaf spring.have smaller engine too.last thing here in canada mines use only 70 series,why they will use light duty prados?? i love prados too i wish i can get one.

But I didn't realise it, if you look, there are two different cars doing it, the first is the petrol with roof rack and rails, and the second is the diesel without the roof rack, only rails. at at 0.33 it is definitely a diesel 3.0 KZ-TE engine. no doubt.

You have to be a moron to say the Prado was crap, but I still think a Disco 4 beats the Prado. Driving a Prado on road is like like driving a tractor. Where as a Disco is a superb cruiser on the black stuff as well as the tough stuff too. And as far as a Disco 3 or 4 reliability is concerned, its not an issue. No more unreliable than a Ford Focus or Merc E Class. Chalk and cheese really.

Lets celebrate these cars exist, not shitty Prius's and the i'll informed green movement.
