Mass Effect Last Level Part 3 or 5 on Hardcore Difficulty

I completed my first playthrough on normal and I started a new game with my old character. I had to change the difficulty to hardcore during the first mission (Eden Prime).

Will I still get the achievement for completing it on hardcore even though part of it was on normal?

how do you recommend getting money?? would you just sell items or what about getting omnigel to open the crates and stuff?
