I sprained my back trying to do a frontflip on a trampoline and I landed right on my neck. It happened twice in one year, and both times I heard like a squishing sound. I felt pain for like 5 weeks and then it was gone. It hasnt happened again but it deffinitly scared me.
thats sad. My bf is also paralyzed neck down, he broke it on a trampolin trying to do a flip when he was 14, He judged his jump wrong and landed on his neck. ans also still can't walk. he did gain movement hin hes right arm, and he uses a arm brace for the other
I like cliff jumping. Anything from 10 to 80 feet. Jumping from heights is no problem. How ever I do grab scuba gear to check out the landing area. If it's not at least 15 feet deep I won't jump anything above 20 feet. That dock is about 4 feet off the water, most diving boards are 2 o 3 feet off the water and most high dives are 10 to 12 feet off the water.
I've dived into my four foot pool before, but off the second step of the ladder. Whenever I dive (even in the deep lake) I dive at an angle, not headfirst.
I agree. I have tried swimming laps in a pool, deep to shallow and back, but when I got to the shallow end, and tried to do the swimmers thing where they do the front flip and then swim back, I hit my head on the bottom of the pool pretty hard. I can't imagine something like what he went though.
Oh. Now by the way that lady was an idiot!!!!! It's because of the following quotes that made her sound dumb: A."I just thought he would see how long he could hold his breath" was a bad quote B. "I thought perhaps he just had a cramp because the water was so cold",and C. "My thing was to just get him out of the water, get him out of the water". YEESH LADY!!!! THINK BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING TOTALLY STUPID!!!
OMG "I just thought he had a cramp" and I am only a minute into the video. She must win the world record for dumb statements in a short period of time. Cant wait to hear what comes out of her mouth next.
This woman must be the dumbest person alive. First the dumb comment about waiting for the water to warm up (I thought I would let that one slide) then the comment about the guy mushrooming in the water "I just thought he would see how long he could hold his breath", "I thought what's he doing that for." Far out!!! Dont want her around when I have an accident.

One of my best friends was paralyzed from the neck down.
She's been in a wheelchair since she was 12. She was crossing the street when a drunk driver roared through the crosswalk, throwing her 30 feet.
She's been trying to walk without success since it happened.

Still: you should check the depth BEFORE you jump!

Who dives without putting their arms infront of their head? Both of my arms go in first, incase i do hit the bottom of something
Aero32 3 years ago 3
Same thing here.
lilyandjack 3 years ago
He actually did put both arms out in front of his head. I doubt he kept them there when he went into the water though.
