Real board track racer do not use the pedals to start. On real racer pedals were fixed and bikes were started by pushers while driver was seated on the bike .
because it was the best way to start a bike on that time(they didnt had eletric start or kick start)(i think) and a racing bike needs to be light(bateries where to heavy and big on that time!

I guess the top speed of that bike is around 120 km/h (75 mph not 100 or 150).
