He need to learn to offload the ball more effectively and use his bulk (not calling him fat by any means but he's a got a powerful physique) to his advantage.
It's early days and he's still a raw young player, but I think Campbell's shown he has the ability to become a world class complete forward. His finishing is excellent, fantastic technique and skill, very good movement, a strong athlete, and something that probably goes unnoticed is how creative he can be. His awareness is very good, he can look up and make killer passes. He's got everything.
Decent performance, a few flashes of great ability but nothing special. He clearly has lots of potential though and I can see him being a good player for us.
@hunterp101 1. If you're not on the pitch you aren't a good player. 2. He isn't that good mate. He's not better than the others who are also not good enough. He is taking up a roster spot and wages and he has accomplished absolutely zero since he has been with Arsenal. Bendtner, Denilson, Diaby, Arshavin, Almunia, Fabianski, I could go on and on. The squad is littered with sub par players at the moment.
Arshavin played amazing for us, and his stats last season were still great. Arsene's going to offload Arshavin, but give him one season. Wenger knows what he's doing, and he's proven that time and time again. Bendtner wasn't even that bad. Denilson just never improved. Diaby is a talent, just injury prone. Almunia is the only one that Wenger should have definitely offloaded.
@hunterp101 Dunno why you're talking about Fabianski like that considering he was doing great for us before he got injured. He pulled off some great saves against Aston Villa, too. His lack of composure is expected for someone who hasn't played first-team football in a while.
@hunterp101 Diaby is a still a good player, he has been constantly blighted by injury. Denilson was a disappointment but at the end of the day we are talking about Joel Campbell not Denilson.
@zebbedi And so far neither has been good enough. The current squad is a disaster and the last thing it needs are more projects that Wenger will hold on to for far too long even though they are clearly not good enough.
@hunterp101 As I said, Diaby has been constantly injured so that's just unfortunate. People said the same thing about RVP and his injuries. I agree with you about Denilson, although I feel that he is a better midfielder than Arteta.
RVP, Fabregas, Flamini, Toure, Clichy, Cole, Wilshere, Sczcesny, Song... Our 'projects' have been pretty good over the years.
Some haven't worked out so well but the club is in good economic shape because of our approach.
