  • Jeanie Shipes was Henry's daughter. We dated when I moved from Dublin, Ohio to Vernon for High School in 1990. Sweet girl and my first gf in Florida:)

  • Brilliant. What a terrific Storyteller!

  • R.I.P. Henry Shipes, Vernon will forever miss you.

  • Oh dear. I missed him! I just now saw the film for the first time and fel in love with Mr. Shipes...that man KNEW what he was talking about. I have rarely seen a more observant person in any field! R.I.P.

  • yeah he was quite a character, my mom worked at Vernon Middle School back in the early nineties, while Henry Shipes's daughter was there. On one particular day she forgot her gym shorts, and Mr. Shipes drove his lawnmower all the way from his house, across town, and up the wheelchair ramp to the office just to drop off those gym shorts lol

  • I love this movie too. And I want a sidekick called Snake.

  • "double gobble" SNAKE !!!

  • OMG I LOVE THAT! He left the "S" off the Snake too "NAKE"!!!!!

  • "double gobble" SNAKE !!!

  • "And that's all I yelped"

  • It is spot on! Washington County Rules.

  • I love this movie. When I was young I lived about 10 miles from the place depicted in Errol's documentary. This stuff is spot on in the characterization of 1970's/80's NW Florida.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I love this movie!
