  • Wasn't Timothy Spall was in this? I believe I rented this some time after seeing Stephen Rhea in The Crying Game (which I think Jim Broadbent was also in, it's been too long). Spall's character stole the show, IMO.

  • Yeh he was "Aubrey", I'll put a clip up when I get a chance. Funnily enough the restaurant scenes were filmed in Enfield where I live (bad for me).

  • @AlxFitz Ah pity you didn't start the scene just seconds earlier, where there is one of the greatest lines in film history. Patsy looking at the van says 'look, lightning striking a cup of tea'. Great that you have put this up though. It is a wonderful film.

  • @johnnyvicious2 Ha ha, yeah that was great, I'm not sure what happened there.

Patsy was the best character in the film I thought - "Ah, the old one armed guitar player eh?"

  • @AlxFitz Oh yeah, Patsy and his dodgy deals and pub banter: 'Danny Blanchflower, you know, he was the architect of the modern game'.

I also liked his comments on Arsenal winning the league, with a 'team of workhorses'. True to the Spurs spirit that football should be played in the right way, with skill, and providing entertainment. Mike Leigh even achieved that level of detail.
