a friend of mine back home had a badass orange crx with all neon green under hood wiring and mods...it was truly one of a kind in that area....actually was only 1 of 2 in like 75 mile radius from what i have seen
I think it would be hard to find a completely original and completly stock CRX SI, most of them are all ruined now due to the kids that race them and put bigger motors in them
I'd be curious as to what he would say for the mid 80s rear drive corolla's commonly known as the ae86. Like mine, that I love despite the 'ricer stigma they now have. Sure, not cheap now and perhaps the hype is going down or at least settling in but I can see it becoming a legit collector car in the future. Also good to see older Japanese cars getting more and more attention as of late, rx3's, old celica's and corolla's, 510's ect other then just the 240z's which we knew would be a collector.
i love all the cars he just mentioned, all the Z's are fucking SICK n i like all the old school japenes car too...... better than any lambo or ferrari in my book :)
@rebeldriver5 agree, even today they have the right look and with a twin turbo they are even faster then the new zeds, to this day they are still my favorite Japanese car.
i GOT A FRESHLY PAINTED WHITE 1990 CRX Si all original parts interior and exterior (no-bodykit) Only mods are: lowered, 16inch.rims, ZC engine, exhaust, hearders intake! So just might hold-on to my X! Unless someone want to give me my starting price of 60,000! lol
i'm happy old Japanese cars are actually increasing in value. i bought my 1986 toyota corolla GTS RWD for $750 from the original owner in 2003. Now i'm constantly getting offer for $3000, i'm sure the increase in vale has something to do with popularity of drifting
You're forgetting about the 3000GT VR-4's. If you can find a unmodified low mileage VR-4 Hardtop convertible expect to pay atleast 30k for one. Especially if you can find a 99 model. The Celica GT-4 All-trac unmodified low mileage, could take in 30-40k easily. They only imported 89 of them I believe. The Skylines already go for about 70-100k. Find a R32 V-Spec, or R33 V-SpecII Nur and youll be paying Atleast 150k.
I did forget the celica, we got 3 different models, st165, st185, st205, 2 popup headlight versions and 1 bubble eye version.
all 3 are very rare.
vr4 was rare and expensive also, but it doesn't have as big of a following it seems like.
as for the skylines, we didn't get them here so i didn't include that, but you can go to canada and get a r32 for less than $20k, some less than $15k, you must have a good plan for getting back across the border tho,
Well I have a VR-4 and a 92 at that and I paid 15k for it. There are also the 99 hardtops and I have seen more than one top 40k if it's original, low mileage and unmolested. There's enough people interested in them to keep them highly valued. For a legit 99 you'll be paying alot because they are rare, and a hardtop vert. there were literally about 100 of them made for that year. I used to want a ST185 but I couldnt find one, those cars are sick. The old Honda S600's are really expensive too.
Yeah, they can make power not saying they cant, Just not as big of a following. which may make them worth more in the long run.
did we get a s600 here in the states? didn't know. the old fairlady convertible we got i know, and that was a cool little car, very tiny tho, about like a mg. fairlady with sr20 swap would be very nice.
Price is determined by Demand/supply. The more demand the lower the price because you can make up the figures in quantity. That is why RX-7's Supra's and 3000GT's sell so high and Civic's don't, because the demand for Civics are so high. The lower the supply means the higher the demand, which means the rarer it is the more expensive it is. Ex: most people have completey forgotten or never heard of a GT-4, but they still sell for high prices, because they are rare not because of their following.
On Autotrader, there is a guy selling a '91 NSX with 32k for $17,100. He's likely crazy because there are several with twice the miles and 10 grand more. Would you rather drive a NSX or a Rabbit?
It's clean, see for yourself. Link won't fit here, so look for search 91 to 91 NSX anywhere. There's only one page, and it's easily to spot, red for $17,100 USD. If I had the money, I'd buy it, use as my daily and sell it for a profit if I ever got bored with it.
as long as they keep making rear and 4 wheel drive performance cars i dont care about crx's or anything with front drive, they handle like shit, and power distrobution is fair at best.

93-98 supra's esp turbo. untouched, unmoded.
nsx's any year.
fd3 RX7's.
maybe tt 300z's, and the 80's single turboII
old supercharged MR2's are very rare even today.
And ofcourse my favorite 91-95 or 99 if japan,
MR2 turbo, around 20k sold here in the states
atleast half are wrecked, due to ppl not driving a mid engined car before. half of the 10k left are moded. so 5k OR LESS are remaining untouched.
3yrs ago, mint yellow turbo 4k miles on ebay went for near $20k, NO JOKE!

Great info, superb show guys :)
i predict a horrible increase in Buick Grand Nationals
if you don't know what i mean watch the F&F 4 trailer :(
f&f is the reason why a 13 year old toyota is worth $25-$30k
darkz2k3 3 years ago
my favorite post-muscle car.
kneelio321 3 years ago
a good grand national is already worth up to $45k.... a GNX, even more. Great cars though.
Garage419 3 years ago
if that is the case look for regals turning into turbo regals, GN, and GNX clones.
plus i would really love to see buick bring back even a concept of the Grand National, maybe on the Zeta platform from GM
