Good compilation of the Kincks history. You're rigth, the Knicks has done very bad transactions and picks but today they're in the rigth track. Now they have Amare and Dantoni as head coach and they are winning lots of games. The problem they have now are the Celtics and the Heats in the east conference. Someone who has mob connections needs to pay Dolan a visit and "INSIST" that it would be benificial to his "HEALTH" that he sell his ownership of MSG sports teams! The first ever professional sports event i ever went to was a Knick game at 8yrs old and have been a knick fan ever since. I watched almost every game on tv right up until they traded Ewing away for fucking peanuts. Dolan needs to be removed from his ownership of this team!

I appreciate your efforts for trying, but your history needs some improvement. No Knicks history is complete without the following:

1-'72-73 season

2-The Starks dunk vs the Bulls in '93

3-'94 Eastern Conference Finals (Game 7 especially)

4-The winning of the '99 Eastern Conference Championship at the Garden

Your "history" is good... but its bad propaganda to how the Knicks really got bad.

First off, some of those players you mentioned actually were good players... but Layden, and I repeat, Layden DID NOT sign Houston to that contract, that was Dave Checketts.

Secondly, the Marbury trade worked out for 1 season, didn't really work out the rest of the way.

Thankfully, it seems now the Knicks have turned a corner, and hopefully will return to prominence very soon.

Layden didn't get Baker, that move was entirely Thomas... and it did work out, but giving him a 2 year contract extension after it did was pointless.

dude i couldnt agree with you more about marbury. he is an amazing guard. the knicks never really gave him anyone to help out. except steve francis and eddy curry down low. the knicks will rain supreme again. i think they will get the trophy sometime. they basically need a roster make over.

Good Tribute, just a few mistakes, first...Patrick Ewing gave us 15 Great Seasons, we would have had a Championship if Mr. Riely who had his foot out the door and was already negotiating with Miami had made a simple substitution and sat John Starks down. Secondly while I blame Scott Laden for just about everything that has gone wrong in this terrible era, he did not draft Fredrick Weis...ED TAPSCOT the interim GM prior to the Scott Laden being hired made that choice..

Seriously, the Knicks of the Early 70's were the only good highlights in New York Knickerbockers History. In 1973, when Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics for the Eastern Conference, John Havlichek injured himself during that Series.

The following year, with a Healthy John Havlichek, the Celtics defeated the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Series, and after that defeated Kareem's Milwaukee Bucks in 7 Games, in the NBA Finals, with John Havlichek, as the NBA Playoff MVP.
