  • Con't from below..... Oops, now that I think about it, I believe you have a big kick ass Miller mig machine I thought I saw in another one of your videos.

  • Awesome video!!!! Thank you!!!! I'm surprised you don't have a 120v mig welder like the BITCHEN Lincoln 140C model. Makes beautiful welds on the types of metal you use without breaking the bank. Just another tool in the tool box, next to that HF stick welder you have.

  • Freddy, I know I've said this in the past but here it comes again: You are bad ass!! Great/helpful video buddy. I am not an artist, and I dont have an artful brain, but I would like to try my hand at some......scrap/recycled/art....stuff... and you make the vid's that are just great. Immediate functional information. I hope you have a good year buddy.

  • For the jig saw and grinder, go to a pawn shop, and get used pro grade ones. They will last much longer, and cost much less.

  • You inspire me to wield ! Soon to be my new hobby while attending college!

  • @Jonemike99 That's great. It's so much fun and you can make anything you can imagine. Thanks for the comment.

  • Awesome man, thanks so much for putting this together, this was a great tutorial! Great demonstrations/explanations, right to the point, very informative. Excellent!

  • good job dude!

  • where did you get those 1/4 inch rods?

  • dude the archer peice u made was sick mad props

  • wait for a sale at harbor freight and you can get a 90 amp mig welder for 130 with all shipping and tax included (to NJ atleast..)

  • Hobby? This guy's good! i especially liked the archer. I'd love to see pictures of that Centaur when he's finished. Thank you for all the tips! Any thing for e-bay?

  • Nice video - to cut torch costs I use propane with propane tips. I also cut welding costs by using inexpensive all purpose p5 rods.

  • Like alphadog said, to the point. thanks for you work putting this video together. Its was very helpful....

  • Have you always been an artist? i cant draw at all but would love to learn how to do some stuff like this that archer is freaking amazing

  • Concise and to the point. Although I use a Miller (big window) Elite and it's great (I'm a welder-fitter as my profession). But I couldnt' agree more about the $10 grinders and $100 grinders - I use Mastercraft $25 grinders and drop/throw/bang them around and they work just as good as a $99 DeWalt.

  • I use that one as well. It's great now that I found where to buy cheap batteries. It says not for overhead welding in it's book. I put tape on the bottom lip and it seems to keep it from melting from the spatter falling down. It has been going strong for several years and I have gone through a couple of cheap ones in that time. It's a good helmet.

  • @alphadog1x i have the master craft grinder too it is really good

  • @alphadog1x i have the master craft grinder too it is really good i want the torch set but my parents dont let me get it ( oh well i dont anywhere to keep it i dont have a shop gotta work outside )

  • I want to get into welding, and I want to weld Parts for my truck (brush guards, roof racks etc) and are these all good tools to use even for this stuff?

  • good job man. I know a couple guys who do this.

  • Nice work. You get the maximum use out of the minimal tools...sign of a good craftsman.

  • Just what I was looking for, thanks for posting.

  • Thanks, I am going to post more soon, so subscribe if you want to see them.

  • very good film... ; )

  • do you make any money making cool sculptures like this? or is it purely a hobby for you?

  • It's just a hobby. these things take so long to make I would have to sell them for a small fortune to make any money.

  • dude i love my miller speed glass (wide) i got some old school glass too, but anyway great video i am planing on getting into welding art as soon as my wife OK's my budget on material (damn ring). and you forgot to mention that the tanks for fuel gas are not the cheapest.

Keep up the art looks sweet i would pay for that stuff!

  • Thanks, I really just use a 0 and 1 tip and one set of tanks seems to last for quite a while.

  • hey dude were do u get ya scrap metal from

  • I don't know where you could get some in Australia just look up recyling yards and call them and ask if they resell scrap or if they know who does.

  • Cool Deal! Nice metal art projects.

    Take Care,

    John

  • these are great videos thanks so much for posting and keep up the good work

  • Great video.. I'm really thinking about taking a course at Tulsa Welding School here... really good editing bro.. :)

  • thanks. I just started making videos a couple of weeks ago and its great fun. you should take a class in welding but get the setup I sugguest because you can always upgrade as needed and this whole rig costs the same as a namebrand helmet.

  • I made the same mistake buying the Victor torch set, not knowing the Harbor Freight set used the victor welding and cutting tips.

Some of the HF welding supplies & tools I have been happy with: most of there hammers, angle grinders, 6013 welding rods that leave nice beads and are easy to chip slag off (they don't penetrate deep as 6011 or 7018 rods), there high end sockets, and most of the welding vice-grip style clamps. Don't get me wrong, they have there share of duds too.

  • the do have duds thats for sure. maybe I could make a video of things not to get there. the only thing is if something dosn't work they will take it back no questions asked so i dont have anything to show in the video if I do make one. I guess thats a good thing.

  • I got to say I love the 7018 its like butter.

  • Very good video on how to start out welding without spending a lot of money!
