@scarra18 Typical inbred Cork Culchie farmer rednecked Fianna Fáiler. I can't believe the idiocy of the people in this country especially Cork, Michael Martin topping the polls. The Zeitgeist Movement (TZM) has been showing that we have the ability to generate energy, food, housing, health and education for everyone in the world, while, at the same time, we are able to ELIMINATE OUR ECONOMICAL, SOCIAL & ECOLOGICAL CRISIS along with corruption, poverty, abuse of power, unemployment, social stratification, and other factors that hinder the life and sustainability of the planet and its inhabitants. To know more about it, watch: "Zeitgeist Addendum" - It is on youtube
Thank god they have 14 seats this time! I think the Irish are finally waking up! I have given shinners my vote for the past 18 years and I do hope now that they hold a decent number there will some major improvements! In regards to the amount of Immigrants in this country sucking us dry, and the impending queen of engerland ("Lizzy's) trip over to our financially smashed little country in May! Pearse your a great man! Good to have you on board!
Pearse shoots from the hip. No bollocks. Just straight talking, in defence of ordinary working men and women. Brilliant speech. Well done, Pearse. You do County Donegal and Ireland proud.
Oh dear - Fianna Failed and suffered massive "Electile Dysfunction" - what a fucking tragedy !!. I was hoping for total annihilation but serious humiliation will just have to do. No more Ahernx2, Cowen, Coughlan, Hanafin, Haughey, Lenihan, Dempsey, Andrews, Roche etc.
A big thank you to the good people of Donegal who finally binned that rotting vegetable Coughlan !.
Well done to Pearse and Padraig - great results lads !!.
I see all the TD s leaving at the start , hopefully tomorrow most of them will have to listen , shows complete lack of respect for elected members of the Dail ,
really good speach watched all of it, few things i disagree with tho but it was good to c passion and mostly sense, AND hes right they are predator loans
sinn fein could win up to 16 seats on friday and even more ,the ULA said 6 seats for them would be great but I see them winning more ,so we will have a good opposition in parliament to keep the next government in line so they dont slip up like the previous clowns in Fianna failures and the green tree huggers .
haha, Im not a Sinn Feinn supporter, but I love the way he has a go at Coughlan, then says the exact same thing using her "proper title" when corrected!!
He is a fanatastic and brutally honest speaker. i dont care if they are 'up the ra', we need extremist in these dark times to shift the fatcats out and make the country right again.just like mick collins and devalera did :)
@Rocstardust10 yep spot on ! were letting people into the dail that let these crooks away with everything and its time to vote people in to keep the next government in line because your certainly not going to get that in fianna failures or green tree huggers . The likes of Pearse Doherty ,Joe Higgins,Gerry Adams and others is what is needed in the next parliament because they speak for the people ,they are straight talking and say it as it is instead of the fancy language used in last gov
sinn feins policies, lack any creditibily, they seem to have been drawn up by primary school children, however primary school kids probably would get the maths right!
@scarra18 “sinn feins policies, lack any creditibily...” Presumably, you believe that the economic policies of the political elites – Fianna Fail and Fine Gael – have credibility, even though it was their policies that destroyed Ireland’s economy, making our country the laughing stock of Europe. Perhaps you’re on drugs or something? Get well soon.
@scarra18 wtf are u smokin.....do we keep the woderful polices that has us in the shite in goverment...if u had a valid argument for change why didt u step forward and do something... this guy i dont know who he is.....but hes the kinna man i want upfront backin my ireland and tellin the imf to fuck off....
More inpressive than Gerry Adams, but then that wouldn't be hard. But Sinn Fein is destined to remain a minority party - little more than a fringe movement. When it repudiates its past and ties with the Provisional IRA with its history of sectarian and terrorist murder campaigns it may be welcomed and absorbed into the Labour party - and the latter is also fated not to become the biggest of the political parties.
One thing to point out about our 'bailout' from Europe. The money for this only came into existence as soon as our gov signed the promise to pay. The promise to pay simply became a bookkeeping entry within the banking network. New money was created just like magic from the creation of the new debt. Now if Cowen had asked for the loan to be given in gold or silver then big problem! Of course that would never and did not happen. Fiat money as we know it is utter fraud. See Money as Debt.
As an interim step towards seeking debt free currency where the control of the money flow in our nation is held within a direct democratic government, we can actually use the fraudulent 'fractional reserve banking' system to our advantage by creating a state owned bank based on the Bank of North Dakota. The state of North Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate in the US. This bank plays a huge part in the money flow of its state. Control of the flow of money is the pivotal point.
One new legislative action alone can be enacted and carried out which will have an unprecedented effect on our nation. That step is to take away the power of private banks to create money. That power should only be reserved for the nation and through its elected government. But we also need a 'direct democracy' not and elected totalitariat and also new laws to solidify ethics, transparency and accountability and also to protect our debt free currency.
honestly fianna fail fucked us over big time and they will never get my vote......Fine Gael are the exact same bull shit that fianna fail go on with both partys are stuck up posh snobs who dont care about the people of ireland ....In my opinion Sinn Fein forget their past are the only party that will fight for us and do as much as they can to improve the standard of ireland ......so i would wel prefer a group of tds like this man who talks common sense
I respect your choice to have a government and don't wish you any harm for that choice. If you want even 100% of your wages going to government to provide you everything you want thats even fine with me. I don't want a government, i want to interact with others voluntarily, do you grant me the same respect?
I am absolutely terrified of these economically illiterate terrorists getting anywhere near government. Yeas Fianna Fail have been terrible for Ireland, but these guys would be incomparably worse.
fianna fail fuckedd the country up leading up to 80's .. in come fine gael harsh cuts but basically they lead us to the celtic tiger .. just before the boom everyone decideds we want fianna fail .. what do they do , come back in and fuck us over again .. fine gael and sinn fein 1and2
@kerryman89 no if they got into power ,, can you honestly see killings as a result .. i dont.. and if they did clearly and quite obviously they would be lost forever.. sin fein protects those who need it , not those who can afford it
we need people like pearse and joe higgins in the opposition in the next parliament to keep these crowd coming in, in line .what we dont need is the same old crowd from fianna failures and the green tree huggers taking up seats in the parliament so they can mouth on about what needs to be done when they were they ones who got us into this mess . we need people that can connect with the ordinary people and fight for them and you have that in pearse and joe and many others.
he will be the future leader ,very good speech and pearse is the type of person that can understand the pain that the ordinary man ,woman and child are under in this country due to the fianna fail gangsters and their green tree hugging counterparts have caused and have imposed for future generations .id also like to point out the ignorance of the fianna failures in this video ,snearing and interfering a man who has said what we have all wanted to tell them traitors !
I'd love to see Sinn fein as the next leaders of this country, but sadly once again we're going to be down trodden upon by FG and their band of european arse licking ministers. Robbing more from the poor and working class, handing it over to to the imf and to the European parliment that uses the irish proclimation as toilet paper.
We've lost our country, our freedom, our jobs and our future. we're a faceless eu state now. Thankyou to those in FF and FG and the people who support these parties.
everything he said was all correct, taking money from the poor/middle class when they are struggling to survive but they dont care, all their care about is themselves as they are overpaid and will be getting an oversized pension while the middle class people are losing more money. Vòtàil Sinn Fèin they will fix the country not in the next turn. Imagine if some of the great Irish republican leaders came back and seen the state of country they offereed their lives for, the would surly be ashamed
wow hey guys ... im an american and the way he was talking was sincere... i didnt really know what was going on and i feel for you .... i hope thing turn out ok and i hope hope them fucks quiet trying to screw you guys.. .i got ya back 100%
@LordSkullCrusher Pearse Dorothy is completely innocent and deserves a chance to make a change, he cares a lot more then the old scum we have down south!
This is a well argued brilliant passionate speech. This young newly elected Representative spoke in the clear no nonsense terms language of the ordinary person. Makes a refreshing change. Maith an fear Pearse. You got my First Preference and you will get it again come the general election!
Vote Sinn fein..Nice to hear a little passion....Anybody with a brain would vote Sinn Fein..Forget the rest, there all a shower of clannish fuckers and detest Sinn Fein..There biggest fear is the fact that they know Sinn Fein are growing stronger..So let those other worthless pricks walk out of the Dail..Spread the word all you Sinn Fein Folk ....Lets make this party grow and then have a mad party ourselves after..Fuck Cowen the Swamp Monster.
A newly elected TD who knows what public pain is, who realises the disgust at the acts that have been carried out in our country, and a younger generation of elected representative who won't fall for the sweetness unlike others. A fitting and applausable speech depicting our anguish. Thank You Deputy Doherty.
@AnnoyingBeast I thought the very same myself, my family and I were sitting watching this and we were so annoyed that they all got up to leave when he started to talk. We all decided in that moment to vote Sinn Fein
by jeakers SF will wipe the smile off Mary and Brian's faces yet, the cheek of them to sit and smile and sneer while someone takes a stand for the real people of Ireland! the only ones talking sense at the moment are SF!
Ireland is crying out for a new proud leader to emerge and lead the country out of the economic and political disaster and restore some dignity. Pearse Doherty is a great speechmaker and certainly connects with the public with his message. Not sure he can garner broad-based support but he is a refreshing and encouraging change to the mediocre and corrupt parasites that Irish politics has continually thrown up.
@LordSkullCrusher The reason Ireland can't sell bonds is because the International Markets don't have any faith in policies pursued by the current Irish government. A growing number of economists at home and abroad share Sinn Fein's view that it is wrong to saddle the country Ireland with the debts of rogue private banks. The ECB-IMF-EU plan won't fix the economy. Ireland can pay its own way if it not burdened with corrupt bank debts. Markets will respond positively to that scenario.
@LordSkullCrusher Dont talk shite ye prick!! There isnt a political party in Ireland that hasnt its roots in militant republicanism, blame the British presence ye twat, not the irish rebels!!
@phoenix1916 Sinn Fein were the polical arm of the IRA who killed protestants for being protestants aka GENOCIDE (regardless of what the UVF done, who are also scum, it doesn't change the fact people iconnected with Sinn Fein took part in this slaughter), while the people who engaged in the civil war are gone, the people who took part in the troubles are not and are still present at the head of Sinn Fein
@MrPain331 LOl ur a prick, the people like Bobby Sands who took a stand against British imperialism and aggression in the North are of the same ilk as Pearce Connolly and Tone...The Greens are damned and rightly so for presiding over the downfall of our country..good riddance to bad rubbish!!
@phoenix1916 So you support the Omagh bombing? Sinn Fein have played a part in protecting the killers who commited the atrocity and have protected other killers of innocent, they took a stand as like Fianna Fail, the IRA simply couldn't give up the power of fear they had over communities in the North. and as for honesty from Sinn Fein? don't get me started, they can't even be honest about where they buried the innocent people they killed
The public servants are the problem they are by and large the thick as planks they are supported by their friends in the trade union movement who are the greatest load of fumblers in the greasy till imaginable. It is a pity any party has to suck up to the public sector and unions because THEY ARE THE PROBLEM I look forward to seeing professors and lecturers on the dole beside the people they put there. Sinn Fein won't do that but FF/Greens and Labour/FG will there is no doubt about that.
No, Assange is Australian young skull crusher. I didn't say the correspondance was fabricated by the british. What i did comment on was the timing of such stories making headlines, sorry if i wasn't clear on that. The Northern Bank is old news and so are the allegations of who was responsible.
Well Firstly, I don't speak for Sinn Fein, but it's time parties were about the people and not personalities. Sinn Fein is not the Gerry Adams party, for that reason I believe he is being moved out of Belfast. The Child abuse issue stinks no doubt about it.
The Irish and British media are used as propaganda weapons by their governments, funny how these stories are released to blacken Sinn Fein on the same week that Doherty lambasted the Irish government. This is exactly the
Pearse should leave that useless party Sinn Fein and start up a party himself as he is going no where with them. He will be very luckly to get voted in again.
Gerry Adams for President great joke gets a life!!And as for voting for Sinn Fein Pearse Doherty is a great speaker but I would never vote for Sinn Fein again any hope we have of getting out of this mess Sinn Fein won’t do it. I was a member of that useless party once until I got sense.
Excellent speech by Pearse Doherty. He has hit the nail on the head with everything he has said in this speech. These gombeen men should be ashamed. Shame, Shame ,Shame. Hopefully the day of the Gombeen men in Irish politics is coming to an end. The Charlie Haughey's Bertie Aherns, Jackie Helay Rae's. Who are the gangsters in Ireland???
Tá an fear seo fíor mhaith ar an abhar go bhfuil se ag labhairt ó'n a chroí, rud nach bhfuil coitianta ar an aimsir seo, go h-áirithe i measc polaiteorí. Go raibhmaith agat a Phiarais, tá mé ag teacht leat. Beir bua!!!
@ndjm00 Bottom line here, the self serving shower of corrupt wasters you seem to trust are the ones who caused the disaster with their complicity in the greedy feeding frenzy in the banking sector. The founders of The Republic and those who gave their lives had little experience but give me passion, belief and love of country any time. Sinn fein can and will learn.I hope they learn their own lessons and dont become corrupted by what is clearly a broken system
@bighughesy1 '' Bottom line here, the self serving shower of corrupt wasters you seem to trust ...''
I agree they were partly responsible for the problem. I am not a supporter of their party. I do support their recovery plan ...as nobody else has put forward anything as viable ...particularly Sinn Fein. ...and self serving??? Hardly! If they were self serving they would be pandering to the public for votes like Sinn Fein are and making terrible decisions which would make the problem ...cont
worse. They are currently making policies which most people in this Country hate and are crucifying them for in the Polls. This inevitably means they are going to be hit overtly hard in the coming elections. How on Earth is that self serving? Thing is ...the policies they are implementing have to be made ...despite ignorent public opinion, as it is in the National Interest in the long term.
''The founders of The Republic and those who gave ...cont
their lives had little experience but give me passion, belief and love of country any time.''
Passion, belief and love of Country are all admirable qualities ...but if you don't have a backbone when it comes to solving our countries current problems ...those qualities are ultimately useless ...even dangerous as they can blinker a government from making the tough decisions that have to be made.
''I hope they learn their own lessons and dont become corrupted by what is ...cont
They haven't even entered the classroom yet. Their economic recovery plan is incoherent, unworkable and impossible to implement. It is purely designed to win votes ...but they know they cannot deliver. Its an impossibility... Keep all public sector jobs? Don't cut social welfare? Tell the EU/IMF to bugger off? They are a joke!
@ndjm00 Like I said they will no doubt make mistakes and indeed I dont agree with some of their anaylsis and some of their proposals however your logic is that the same old guard of poliicians from the same old parties should be allowed to get the country out of this mess using the same economic advisers and expertise that got us into this bloody shite?? And you think they are a joke. Oh and how dare SF look for votes,I mean theres no way real politicians would act like that!Keep takin the pills
@ndjm00 Are you kidding me? You are defending Fianna Fàil? Your basis for this defense is that they had to come up with this particular budget. No one is under any illusion, including Sinn Fèin, that a tough budget is necessary. The problem is, that such a tough budget is as a DIRECT result of a decade of Fianna Fàil incompetence and corruption and greed and cronyism. And not only that, they are protecting themselves in the budget. No fucking pay cuts for TD'S, what a fucking joke
@patrickedmund Our ''I have read their recovery plan, whats so incoherent and unworkable about it.''
Our Public Sector bill currently costs just over 50 billion per annum to maintain. We are currently recieving 31 billion in tax receipts (annum). This means we need 19 billion to keep our public sector going. Sinn Feins recovery policies include telling the Bondmarket, the EU and the IMF to bugger off as apparently this Country does not need their money to close ...cont
the 19 billion euro gap. Indeed Sinn Feins Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin has publicly stated in the Dail that his parties recovery plan would not cut a single job in the public sector nor would it reduce the average public sector salary ...nor would it make any cuts to social welfare. It has also been proven time and time again throughout history that a Country cannot overtly tax its way ...cont
out of recession. Do you know how heavily this Nation would have to be taxed in order to get this magical 19 billion that is required? So how does Mr Ó Caoláin intend to close this gap? What has his party made workable in their policies to even attempt this impossible feat? Do you honestly believe that cutting the fat cats salaries at the top of the public sector (ministers et al) will even make a signifigant dent in this Countries 19 billion euro deficit? FAT CHANCE! Although I welcome ...cont
such cuts ...I really do! ...They will serve no significant impact to our 19 billion deficit. At most these cuts will throw a few 100 million at a 19,000 million euro problem. You also state:
''Are you kidding me? You are defending Fianna Fàil? Your basis for this defense is that they had to come up with this particular budget.''
I am not a defender of Fianna Fail. I am a realist however and a strong advocate of reason. Sinn Feins ...cont
recovery plans are ridiculous and appeal to the ignorence of a hard up and angry public for cheap votes. The only reason Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin has made such ridiculous promises is because he knows his party won't be in power to implement them. It might win him a few seats though ...and thats all he cares about. I am fully open to changing my mind about Fianna Fails budget/4 year plan ...should another party present a viable one ...and that is something Sinn Fein have yet to even ...cont
''The problem is, that such a tough budget is as a DIRECT result of a decade of Fianna Fàil incompetence and corruption and greed and cronyism.''
I agree, but at the same time all the blame cannot be laid at their doorstep. This Country voted for them on numerous occasions ...and the same ignorance that gave them power ...is the same ignorence that is now pandering to Sinn Feins ridiculous magic bandage plan. Thing is, whether you like it or not; Fianna Fail ...cont
are now making the tough decisions that have to be made. Its destroying their party in the Polls but they do it anyways because they realise it is what the Country needs irrespective of what it does to their seat holdings in the Dail.
''And not only that, they are protecting themselves in the budget. No fucking pay cuts for TD'S, what a fucking joke''
...agreed ...the lack of cuts in TD's salaries was a huge disappointment. This may have been stategic on their part though ...cont
as they knew it was the only way they could get the back benchers to vote on a budget that is direly needed to get this economy back on its feet. When the coalition enters the Dail in late Spring 2011 it will be interesting to see if they make the salary cuts they've been talking about as the current opposition. ...and I will wager now that Sinn Fein will not be part of that Coalition. They need to get real before even been considered. They are currently a joke...
@ndjm00 I hear what you are saying. But Pearse's dissection of the budget in his speech, really brings home the consequences of Fianna Fàils leadership. It doesn't matter to me how viable the budget is, or if it is the most effective one possible. Fianna Fàil have forfeited their right to be trusted. Fianna Fàil must not be re-elected as they have damaged the country in a way that is baffling in its enormity. The only movement I support, at the moment, is the removal of Fianna Fàil from office.
@patrickedmund '' It doesn't matter to me how viable the budget is, or if it is the most effective one possible.''
The viability of our economy is the only thing that matters now. This is sink or swim time, and it seems Sinn Fein would be happy to have us sink in order to win a few seats ...which is ... I'll let you decide...
''Fianna Fàil have forfeited their right to be trusted. Fianna Fàil must not be re-elected as they have damaged the country in a way ...cont
that is baffling in its enormity. The only movement I support, at the moment, is the removal of Fianna Fàil from office.''
...agreed ...but it scares me to think who they will be replaced with. There is ignorence and ineptitude in every corner of our Dail. If I had my way I would desolve the Dail and remove every single seat from every sitting TD. Bright, proud, educated young people should be ...cont
sitting in those seats. Not old farts who have political axes to grind ...irrespective of the damage they may cause ...and this includes Pearce Doherty. The man has passion ...but sadly, he is blinded by it.
@ndm00 He reminds me of the rest of the students that were raving about how we had to vote yes to Lsbon,They have all the answers and no practical Experience and love to listen to their Daddies who are exactly the same as the rest of the parasites that have been living off the sweat of another mans brow for years, The day of the parasiteis over, time for them to break a nail and actually earn a living. We are no longer willing to carry them. Vote Sinn Féin all the way !!!! WELL DONE TO ICELAND
if i was the government id be ashamed of themselves..... michael collins and all our heroes would be turning in their graves:( they died for ireland. the first chance the government get they sell us out to Europe...... For what??????? To pocket their own pockets and pass on the blame.... pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!
pearse great speech if only they were more like you, willing to stand up and defend the rights of the people of ireland.
Power controls reality, it defines reality by rationalization. Hence this Government, comfortable with too much power are defining reality in their context by rationalizing their ideas and beliefs, not that of the common people. This Speech by pearse is fresh and of the street, it is void of power influence, it is stand alone and is raw reality, determination and truth. A kick up the backside for a parliament living in wonderland.
Well done pearse. . Especially the quote from Mise Eiré. .very strange that I was listening to that song on youtube and paused it to watch this. Makes me think just how Brian Cowen has sold us all down the river!! Very sad times
Love that part when he speaks about pearses poem,a true patriot and Gerry adams natural successor

AmhranaiAlainn 1 year ago
As an interim step towards seeking debt free currency where the control of the money flow in our nation is held within a direct democratic government, we can actually use the fraudulent 'fractional reserve banking' system to our advantage by creating a state owned bank based on the Bank of North Dakota. The state of North Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate in the US. This bank plays a huge part in the money flow of its state. Control of the flow of money is the pivotal point.
AmhranaiAlainn 1 year ago
One new legislative action alone can be enacted and carried out which will have an unprecedented effect on our nation. That step is to take away the power of private banks to create money. That power should only be reserved for the nation and through its elected government. But we also need a 'direct democracy' not and elected totalitariat and also new laws to solidify ethics, transparency and accountability and also to protect our debt free currency.
Watch: Money as Debt & open your eyes

@LordSkullCrusher The reason Ireland can't sell bonds is because the International Markets don't have any faith in policies pursued by the current Irish government. A growing number of economists at home and abroad share Sinn Fein's view that it is wrong to saddle the country Ireland with the debts of rogue private banks. The ECB-IMF-EU plan won't fix the economy. Ireland can pay its own way if it not burdened with corrupt bank debts. Markets will respond positively to that scenario.

@ndjm00 I have read their recovery plan, whats so incoherent and unworkable about it. Please explain your statements
patrickedmund 1 year ago
@patrickedmund Our ''I have read their recovery plan, whats so incoherent and unworkable about it.''
Our Public Sector bill currently costs just over 50 billion per annum to maintain. We are currently recieving 31 billion in tax receipts (annum). This means we need 19 billion to keep our public sector going. Sinn Feins recovery policies include telling the Bondmarket, the EU and the IMF to bugger off as apparently this Country does not need their money to close ...cont
ndjm00 1 year ago
the 19 billion euro gap.

FAT CHANCE! Although I welcome ...cont
ndjm00 1 year ago
such cuts ...I really do! ...They will serve no significant impact to our 19 billion deficit.

I am fully open to changing my mind about Fianna Fails budget/4 year plan ...should another party present a viable one ...and that is something Sinn Fein have yet to even ...cont
ndjm00 1 year ago
attempt to do.
Thing is, whether you like it or not; Fianna Fail ...cont
ndjm00 1 year ago
are now making the tough decisions that have to be made.
This may have been stategic on their part though ...cont
ndjm00 1 year ago
as they knew it was the only way they could get the back benchers to vote on a budget that is direly needed to get this economy back on its feet. When the coalition enters the Dail in late Spring 2011 it will be interesting to see if they make the salary cuts they've been talking about as the current opposition. ...and I will wager now that Sinn Fein will not be part of that Coalition. They need to get real before even been considered. They are currently a joke...
ndjm00 1 year ago
@ndjm00 I hear what you are saying. But Pearse's dissection of the budget in his speech, really brings home the consequences of Fianna Fàils leadership. It doesn't matter to me how viable the budget is, or if it is the most effective one possible. Fianna Fàil have forfeited their right to be trusted. Fianna Fàil must not be re-elected as they have damaged the country in a way that is baffling in its enormity. The only movement I support, at the moment, is the removal of Fianna Fàil from office.
