  • A "Few Mods at "The Skunk Works", and Guess What, U then have a U-2. It's all been DE-Classified.. Great Shots All The Way!! ..

  • Fantastic video!! I loved the scramble scene with the pilots chute hanging on the pitot boom!

This is exactly what Kelly Johnson had in mind when he designed the Starfighter, no carrying bombs BS.

One pilot, one engine, super fast and high acceleration, kill everything that flies!!!

  • Wow, look at that landingspeed. Impressive plane, we had them as well in holland. I like the f 104, but obsolete very much yes.

  • Indeed, are Italian starfighters....Classic interceptor concept: High speed, climb, poor range, air to air against enemy airforce... But the concept, rather than the aircraft itself, is obsolete. Great video.

  • great video! what is the music track?

  • fantastic video , the best video to f104

  • i was born and grown up near an f.104's airport...this old kind of jet was colled "the flying coffin' due the too many pilot died couse of that jet felt to the ground too often.....

  • STUPENDO MAGNIFICO!!!!!

  • a GREAT Plane!!!

  • the flying "pencil" I love it!

  • generates lift in similar fashion to XB-70, vortex was there but not as bad due to thin wing

  • These are Italian Starfighters, not Norwegian ones. Too bad they're already withdrawn from service, it was such a great aircraft!

  • I crewed these birds. You don't pull those pins until the EOR. (end of runway) Don't want to jettison a drop tank, or pylon mounted ordinance near other planes! Doc

  • lol at 4.00 it starts taxiing out with the 'remove before flight' tags still on

  • because they taxied out of shelters and then they were checked by crewchiefs and weapons personnel near the runway holding position...only there ground personnel removed "Remove before Flight" things...

  • why do starfighters have anhedral wing profiling?

  • for better performance and lift. look at what TINY wings it has. it was a bitch to fly

  • 14 cool points to you for knowing what "anhedral profile" means!

I've met people working on their M.S. in aeronautical science that get anhedral and dihedral mixed up. KUDOS! oh yeah...Higher lift as it cups the high pressure air underneath. Instability was the price to pay...bitchy to fly. widowmaker jet so they say. Dihedral=stability.. but higher vortices off of wing tips causing drag. when you put a winglet on the wing tip (or fuel tank I suppose) you can reduce the vortex and drag.

  • very good

  • video strepitoso,E sempre emozionante vedere il 104 in azione.

  • I love this plane!!!

  • Amazingly high quality footage of the venerable F-104 Starfighter. The razor sharp leading edges of the wings were a sight to behold. At low power setting, the engine makes an strange sound. Nice to see the F-104 on the airshow circuit in the United States.
