@pontusberg Not sure about 2009, but for 2010 you can look for "27c3: Console Hacking" here on youtube, there's a three part video regarding console hacking in general and what has recently been done with the PS3.

The Wii Remote uses Bluetooth to connect to the console.

.....what do you think it uses to connect to the Wii itself? Bluetooth. I'm not kidding, look it up on Wikipedia if you don't believe me. Now, IIRC the little camera in the Wiimote is an infrared camera of sorts (that senses the infrared from the sensor bar).  Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

If it uses bluetooth, why doesnt it have the range of bluetooth? I never got that, I t does work better than the power glove...but can cut out and has poor range. I think they are almost there, but might be cutting costs now (like sensor strip instead of built in sensor) so they can charge less for it.

It's well known that it uses Bluetooth. If you have a Bluetooth dongle you can even pair a Wiimote with your computer. I don't know why you have problems with it (I've never had any though).

Its more of a range thing, I cant be outside and my PS3 controller will still work...but the Wii mote cuts out sometimes in the living room.

I've never had that happen to me. It could be the Wii is less tolerant of interference or something.

lol, well i know how the stack overflow works now, not to trivial tbh. but with the IOS "tree branching" they really fucked them self, waninkoko needed DIP module plugins which was in IOS36(?) to make the backup loader. idiots "fix" one thing break another.
