  • Wow this is very dangerous NOT for the jumpers at all but for the Pilots and Jump master there..bet you checked those static lines BIG TIME to make DAMN SURE absolutely they don't reach the TAIL PROP ..I was just thing about that the main rotor and tail rotor ??? they hooked up it;s bye bye chopper.

  • I'm doing a Blackhawk jump the 16th. Now I'm pretty excited.

  • jrtc at fort polk has an sf team stationed there to serve as observer/controllers for any spec ops unit that comes through on rotation. they jump all the time in order to stay current just like any other airborne unit. in all likelihood, these guys are sf and belond to SOTD

  • Damn this must be much scarier than just walking out of a C17 haha.

  • @MsgtRowan420497 It's my favorite platform to jump. Seriously, UH-60's are a blast.

  • t 10 just for the kids lol good job

  • Zero hesitation. Hooah.

  • your ODA should all get a pretzel decal on their helmet. did the 160th do the flying for you guys?

  • Thanks for posting this. I was browsing through jump videos and halfway through this one I made the connection once I saw the date - This was my cherry jump (hence the cherry helmet).

For all you people arguing about who and where, this was SOT-D and some straps jumping DeRidder DZ, not Geronimo.

  • @USAFJTAC23 yeah i was wondering about that, since i saw the JRTC Ops Group patch on some of the guys... i was wondering if this was one of our jumps since i was in 1/509 in 2007... and nice helmet haha :)

  • i agree safrty is non existant here. bragg is different.

  • i guess we dont check for tow jumpers anymore

  • Gotta love Polk... I actually miss that place sometimes... Great video. Outstanding!

  • feet out? never heard that before.

  • Its obviously SF (arguers below), they always do the 'fun' jumps just to keep current with pay. In the eighty-deuce there's no such thing as a fun jump. Once in a blue moon you might get a UH-60 jump with an MC1-1B parachute that gently brings you to the ground, but 99% of the time you're jumping fixed-wing aircraft in the middle of the night wearing 125 lbs of gear with a T-10C chute that slams you on the ground. SF is far too precious and delicate to conduct night, combat equip mass tac jumps.

  • @brinderofdeath: Hey man, if they are going to ignore/disbelieve the comment made by the guy who FILMED the video (8 months ago, I stated that it was an SF unit), it's not worth trying to argue.

And spencej1129 is right, it was SF jump, but not all the jumpers were SF.

  • Ya'll obviously need to learn a little more about the military and patches on uniforms before you stark making ignorant comments. You can clearly see the special forces patch on one of the guys at the beginning. Its an arrowhead with a sword and three lightning bolts. Don't believe me? Look it up

  • Hmm... Never saw a "SOUND OFF FOR EQUIPMENT CHECK" command responded to like that (2:24). I jumped a Blackhawk last week, and we verbally confirmed our "Good to Go!" status. Interesting!

  • @ProwlerBass: I've done helo jumps with a verbal "SOUND OFF FOR EQUIPMENT CHECK" and the thumbs up. In my humble opinion (14 years jumping), I prefer the thumbs up on the back of the helmet. With the doors open and the JM wearing a headset, a verbal check isn't very smart. And the JM grabbing the thumb is good feedback so the jumper kows his static line has been checked.

  • @slick556: That's kinda what I thought too. Cheers!!!

  • coollll i wish i could be one of then.

  • what is that yellow rope he is pulling on at 4:24

  • Static line. Thats what pulls the parachute out of that big bag you see them wearing on their back :)

  • the guy in bdu's was from the airforce......they look like they from ranger bat......

  • Even support units who deploy with sf get those patches. Anyways, anyone who jumps should know that two or three units could be represented in one lift. USASOC let's you jump with sunglassses.

  • who cares which unit they are with. they got to jump out of a frickin helicoptor okay!!?? I never had that oppurtunity in 4 years at Bragg with the 3/325 AIR. hell yeah. we rocked alot of planes and a few Chinooks, but never even heard of anyone jumpin out of a BLACKHAWK?

  • Just because he has a SF patch doesn't mean he has his long tab, he could just be come 88m attached to one. Also, everyone in the army wears ACU's, it's clearly a cherry ACH, and you're only not allowed to wear sunglasses on jumps during airborne school. I'm not sure how you concluded that they are SF based off those facts.

  • Well I happen to know that half the jumpers were wearinglng long tabs. Seriusly guys, it's my F'ing video. It's a SF unit.

  • The last one to jump was in the Air Force. He was an Airman. How you idiots get Special Forces is beyond me.

  • Well, the ACU's, spray painted helmets, and cool guy sunglasses during a jump all indicate SF. Of course the long tabs and SF combat patches kinda give it away. Seriously, good catch on the air force guy, most people miss that.

  • Probably one of the USAF STS ppl...

  • 0:10 clearly shows a combat sf patch

  • I'm offended you think Airforce doesnt have SF

  • Why? The Air Force doesn't have Special Forces. Only the Army has Special Forces. Other services have special operations units/personnel who are just as high-speed and elite as SF, but they are not called SF.

  • @ebelingb , I believe a lot of Special Forces A teams operating in Afghanistan have one Airforce Combat Controler (CCT) on the team......nothing rare or unusual. Yes, this is SF with a CCT.

  • Real Deal

  • These Soldiers are either Observer/Controllers from JRTC or Geronimo from 1/509th, Fort Polk; they are both airborne units. If you look at their left shoulder you will see the JRTC patch. I also know this because I made my BAR jump the day this was recorded, August 31, 2007; the day that I was introduced to the disaster known as Geronimo DZ!!.

  • Yeah, with fucking rebar sticking out of the ground. LOL

  • Their helmets are dead give away!No ABN regular wears a helmet that way,or RANGER.

  • Shut up you stupid moron

  • They had SF badges on their right shoulders.

Greenies.Look at the starboard side group...

  • green beretS?

  • not green berets . These look like they are going thru PLDC Platoon Leadership development course. PLDC is for NCO's

  • Get some knowledge of ARMY units...And how they look, before posting...Each unit looks different.
