Kerry was a good man struggled with drugs was a better wrestler with one foot than all those with both. Rip kerry. Benwadd was not fit to shine kerrys shoes!
@996artichoke You're the guy who calls all wrestling fans losers yet you watch and comment on wrestling vids constantly. You have nothing good to say about any wrestlers except Kerry?Sounds like somebody had a crush!!You are truly are one of the most pathetic ppl I've come across here on youtube. For your own sake I hope you lied about your age when creating your account.Because if you really are 49 and just go around posting childish comments, just pull a Von Erich killyourself do yourself a favor
You would think with that prosthetic foot of Kerry's he would have a limp or something. Anyone know did they make prosthetics for sports back then that would have put some spring in his step so it wouldn't be noticeable?
Kerry had a prosthetic foot, not a prosthetic leg and was in so much pain from it, that he became addicted to pain killers to get through the matches. It's probably how the cocaine got started too.
@jimdooby Actually the cocaine and other drugs started way before Kerry lost his foot. See Ric Flair's book. Before a match in 1985, they couldn't find Kerry. A few minutes before it was suposed to begin, they found Kerry passed out in his car.
This match was a disgrace! The WWF took a legend, changed his awesome nickname (Moder Day Warrior) to a retarded one (Texas Tornado), and made him a jobber. GOD i hate the WWF!
@HorrorFreak68 you hit the nail on the head, the Von Erich name was a franchise in itself, after all he grewup in the biz, and Kerry was blessed with more atleticism in his prothstitic foot than most had in there entire body, He was the real deal RIP Kerry
This was a stupid match u have taker and the legend Kerry and its over before it starts..vince ur a peice of shit and fuck all u who gonna take up for vince *applies "The Iron Claw" to vince
This match was str8t wack, no selling ass Texas Red,i mean the Punisher, no i meant Mark Callous, oh hell u guys call him the Undertaker. Look im not taking anything away from the so-called deadman, but defeating Kerry in like 1:30 the WWF Sucked. Bobby Heenan still was hilarious though.
watch the tombstone, Kerry wrap his left leg around his right so that the right leg doesn't come off. Then after the pin Kerry flips over but the right leg doesn't even move.
@prettybear765 Agreed it is amazing that he not only wrestled with a prosthetic leg, bu twas able to keep it hidden from quite a few guys for some time. But I don't think he had th eleg when he beat Flair for his short run with the NWA title. I think his accident came after that.
It does my heart good to see child be afraid of wrestling, this kid friendly crap they have now has utterly ruined wwf (forget wwe). Look Linda, you still lost in Connecticut, give us back real entertainment unless you care more about siphoning money from children's parents.
@soichenprinz you don't know paul bearer he was undtertaker's kayfabe parent's employee in the funeral home he left taker for kane cuz kane is his son n undertaker buried him in cement.note this is all fake.
Funny...in Mark Calloway's first match he wrestled as Texas Red and was squashed by Kerry Von Erich who was WCWA World champ. That was 1988. Three years later Mark is the 'Taker and Kerry does the job for him. Kery was a great professinal. I know the Dead Man appreciates that!!
@ZenPimps Yep, Kerry was a real pro, I know Taker had a lot of respect for him and The Von Erich family. I think every wrestlers from Texas have a lot of respect for the Von Erichs.
@ZenPimps You are right, the list of great wrestling legends from Texas is impressive: Terry and Dory Funk jr., Dusty Rhodes, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, The Von Erich Family, Dick Murdoch, Barry Windham, BlackJack Mulligan, Tully Blanchard, Stan Hansen, The Undertaker....and many more !!
@JonathanVonErich guess what your list is amazing and it truely is they are all great but guess who trained kerry von erick? his father fritz von erick.. but who trained fritz??? thats right STU HART so thank you the hart family is better :P haha lol
@janborrowitz how is watching wrestling perverted? dont get all high and mighty czech boy, the first prostitute ive ever seen was driving to the city or prague, and they had an entire line of them outside of the city.

More than 1 mil.people - men want to enjoy themselves..........
Most people don't know that Kerry lost a foot in a mtorcycle accident and he spent the last few yrs of his wrestling career with a prosthetic foot, including this match.
Yeah, he did. The poor guy lost it in a motorcycle accident back in 1984. I can't believe how well he wrestled with that though. The man was one of a kind and will never be duplicated.

I think he did something to piss off Vince. So his punishment was to "job" matches. Much like when HHH pissed him off in the MSG incident back in the late 90's. His punishment was to "job" matches too.
True, but at this stage in his life Kerry was addicted to pain killers and abused steroids. I guess WWF management didn't trust him enough to carry the ball so they slowly phased him out.
Well, Texas was not match for Taker from the beginning. Still, I liked how he gave it the old "college try." Naturally, the "evil guys" come with a "manager" who stays by ringside, making himself available for any cheating if needed. It is too funny.
I remember, it was after his motorcycle accident. He was lucky he wasn't killed. Kerry unfortunately met the same fate as his brother did. Such a sad story the Von Erich Family.
I remember watching this match as a kid. It was shocking because Tornado was one of the better wrestlers. This was when Undertaker really was a badass.
You have never called a fictional character a "badass" before? Yeah, I am sure you haven't. We know it's fake, so you are not pointing out anything new. People like you just need to shut up.

I remember hearing that kerry worked with one foot in the last part of his career, That explains the bad match
OZIASALLAH 2 years ago
Brutal Squash. Of course Taker should've won this match but Kerry deserved more than that.
davidvandayscousin 2 years ago
I think he did something to piss off Vince. So his punishment was to "job" matches. Much like when HHH pissed him off in the MSG incident back in the late 90's. His punishment was to "job" matches too.

of course it was a squash. von erich was lucky to make the "big time." he should've stuck with wrasslin' in the texas county fair!
HaywoodUdume 2 years ago
True, but at this stage in his life Kerry was addicted to pain killers and abused steroids. I guess WWF management didn't trust him enough to carry the ball so they slowly phased him out.

"Services are in about 3 seconds".

Bobby Heenan used the term " Last Ride " around the 4:25 mark. i wonder if that was the first time Undertaker and that term were connected?

Can you believe Vince?
Kerry's brother dies and he STILL does the job in under 5 minutes to The Undertaker.
Shouldn't be surprised, Bret Hart's brother Dean dies and he still gets pinned by Dibiase
KHayes666 2 years ago
Well, Texas was not match for Taker from the beginning. Still, I liked how he gave it the old "college try." Naturally, the "evil guys" come with a "manager" who stays by ringside, making himself available for any cheating if needed. It is too funny.
That announcer was gorgeous!

havn't watched this match yet, and no disrepect to vonerich. but im calling a taker win! :D

Von Erich was doing all this with one foot, you have to remember. In another life and without the drug use, his story would have been triumphant.
reivenlocke 2 years ago 2
I remember, it was after his motorcycle accident. He was lucky he wasn't killed. Kerry unfortunately met the same fate as his brother did. Such a sad story the Von Erich Family.

Sad to see Kerry Von Erich squashed like that... Vince never really knew how to use his talent.
Derrtyindian 2 years ago
If he would have stayed off coke and pills . Thats why they put the belt right back on perfect. He just stayed blasted all the time.
NWAfan 2 years ago
Yeah, it's weird given how big the Von Erichs were, and Kerry being the biggest, that Vince didn't do more with him.

I remember watching this match as a kid. It was shocking because Tornado was one of the better wrestlers. This was when Undertaker really was a badass.
edvhou812 2 years ago 2
he pretends to beat other men, whats so badass about that?
nath909 2 years ago
You have never called a fictional character a "badass" before? Yeah, I am sure you haven't. We know it's fake, so you are not pointing out anything new. People like you just need to shut up.
