Honestly, I believe rappers can portray more emotion than rock-instrumentation to be honest. They have the clearance to talk more explicit subjects, more time to convey the words in a less musical focus and more on intellectual/meaningful feelings. In rock groups the song formation is more limited to a ABABCB (etc) format. idk, just my thoughts
