Rebuilding Communities: Local Economic Development

I wonder what you can call this sort of economic viewpoint, a focus on local, small businesses and sustainability. I consider myself more of an economic conservative usually because I think big government picking winners and losers in the economy through subsidies leads to corporate welfare and takes away the competitive edge of our nations small businesses who have traditionally made up around 80% of our job force. I also notice some liberalish people with these views though, being pro-local.
