This band was so awesome! One of my favorites...Then they decided to go to shit to try to sell a few records, and all of the post SParticus albums SUCKED!
Considering the costs involved in making their albums, I think the wish to sell albums is a very legitimate one. And they made some good stuff on the way.
triuvirat fue un gpo. de laboratorio...... pero sus rolas fueron xlnts!!!!!!!AKI UNA PRUEBA DEL PLAY BACK. me agradan desde su primer disco.."tales............."
showed how pure they were, but then it showed hollywood, way of selling out, and not caring about triumvirat phenomenal musical prowess, and groundbreaking musicianship, with the likes of curt cress, barry palmer,
I remember seeing them on tour with Fleetwood Mac during FM's "Heroes Are Hard To Find" tour. They played the entire Illusions On A Diuble Dimple album superfast in about a half hour, but didn't play anything from the Meditteranean Tales LP which was the only other album they had at the time.
Yes there was that incredible first tunes of Spartacus (Triumvirats best album according to me!) and also ELPs Trilogy that I had on a tape by mistaken taken from my cousines in 1976.. Me and my brother took it home at also discovered that the cousines camerades had put some Genesis tracks from A Trick of the Tail on other side. We where sold on this kind of music from that on! And here: The Hymn from Triumvirats album "Pompeii" is so nice! ;-)
Love the disco clothes. Wasn't Triumvirat kind of a wanna be ELP? I remember they had an album about Pompeii that was pretty heavy (cool). The drummer kicked ass on it Why this song? This is terrible!
I wore out my vinyl version of Spartacus and was really happy when it was released on CD. Same with Double Dimple. An amazing band that never got the regonition they deserved.
Hi has anyone found anything for illusions or Sparticus ?? When I was learning the drums I played these albums all day ..Sad that nothing was ever taped Live..HELP
And They are German as they come....at least the early band...70's We have a friend here in America with us that grew up with the band...Germany! Tons of great progrock bands from there...Remember Hauff Buncombe?
There is NOTHING like " Illuisions on a douple dimple" or " Sparticus" I grew up with this band...I still listen to the albums...Excellent! So glad to find them here...Thanks
triumvirat and novalis are the best progressive bands of germany, barry palmer after went to satin whale and finally with mike oldfield for the "discovery " album
The song is The Hymn, the last track from Pompeii. Ironic that they kept flashing the word DISCO onscreen (probably the name of the show?) on this clip, this has about as much to do with disco as Philip Glass.
On the plus side, Jürgen Fritz reins in his Keith Emerson fixation for a change, and Curt Cress lays down a confident beat. On the minus side, Barry Palmer sounds here like something has grabbed him by the jewels-- I don't recall him sounding so shaky on the album. And oh, that choir....
Yep - You have to have listened to (and understood) Pompeii many times to appreciate this. My voice could never even come close LOL! probable many takes...
