  • wtf is up with James Lipton? Couldn't they get someone better?

  • A good show...except for James Lipton...He is like Drew Carey on Whose Line Is It Anyway? LOL

  • he's obviously never seen english people during a football match haha

  • i love you hugh!

  • brass skull and bones?...

  • I can't full screen it randomly :/

  • I find the intro is very entertaining, that's basically the creme of James Lipton 14 days research...

  • He totally reminds me of Drop Dead Fred at times. lol And it isn't the accent, something about his mannerisms or something.....

  • wtf is he talking about english ppl being quiet? we are known as the loudest people in the world!

  • Man, this show was roughly edited.

  • Oh, James Lipton, will you ever age?

  • it throws me off listening to him out of character...i would love to see/hear him play house with the british accent

  • 5:16 XD

  • I like "the crap". Hugh if you ever read this, you're one of the coolest guy ever lived and you CROWN is your humbleness, God bless you and keep you. I just downloaded your book and I'll read it (it was a pirate copy but I live in a third world Country so I'll buy one ass soon as I can). You'll always have a friend in me. Respect.

  • OMG it's the guy who appeared on 'In the actors studio' a few years ago. Hugh Laurie! he's met Stephen Fry and Emma Thompson! OMG ! He once had a meal with John Sessions!

  • 2:08 to spare yourself from an additional 26 seconds of crap

  • i love assholish introductions! call me 812 697 0753

  • Is that the guy from Stuart Little??? I LOVE him!

  • it's weird not seeing him walk with a cane

  • I LOOOOVE this guy! What year was this taped? :)

  • I just... want to skip... the crap.

  • @jasper2008ify

yes i think he was Jasper

  • Hugh Laurie <3

  • what makes me sick americans didn't know hugh laurie before House M.D

  • @aniallator83: Lol. He was in the live adaptation of "100 and 1 Dalmations".

  • @Thedoctor19000 and not many americans still didnt know him

  • @aniallator83 he wasn't shown here to the general public too much, whats to be sick about?

  • @aniallator83 Is stuart little better?

  • this program is amazing... the intro music. Makes me thing that films and actors in particular are all a bunch of gifted and wonderful liers all for the sake of bringing some truth.

  • Are the audience told to cheer manically on cue? I can't imagine there are many Americans who have watched A Bit of Fry and Laurie or Jeeves and Wooster

  • @MrSyrett The audience is primarily made up of students who study actors, film, and television, isn't it? It stands to reason that they'd be more familiar with his work than others in America might.

  • @MrSyrett you do know that the 100% of the audience are film/theater students (writers, actors, future directors) of New School or Pace University so im sure many will laugh if they know what's going on. and laughing on cue doesn't hurt either..its a gracious laugh..than talk show host audiences.

  • James Lipton's shows are perfect sycophancy by definition.

  • @Blake788 Surely, you mean cacophany. The man says one-liners and names as if they are questions within themselves. Talk about free association on steriods...

  • nobody compares to James Lipton

  • the day james lipton dies will be a very very sad day indeed

  • wow this is just like in saturday night live hahahahahah!

  • James Lipton will never die. He will out live Larry King

  • That American accent is really well done

  • 1:42 to actually skip the crap

  • @blueribbonrabbitry

    Hugh's career is NOT crap!

  • @blueribbonrabbitry not crap, a wonderful part of every Inside the ACtor's studio, really.

  • I know lot 55 year old men that looks older than Lipton.

    What that guy is eating?

  • press 3

  • Awesome guy.. Shame nobody knows that he's English...

  • @seagoonproductions

Once people hear him talk in interviews it's a dead give away.

Can't see how "nobody" realises his nationality...

  • @ExtremeBogom yeah but in england he's a extremely well known from jeeves, blackadder and other stuff but i heard that his show 'house' is really popular in america but everyone who sees it thinks he's american.

  • @seagoonproductions

Well of course they will, that's logical.

Still doesn't mean "nobody" knows he's English. That's blown way out of proportion.

Again, as soon as they see him being interviewed they realise that's not the case.

  • @seagoonproductions i tell you another actor thats just like Hugh Laurie his name is Mark Addy he's another british actor that makes you think hes american because he can speck it really well ..he played on a sitcom called still standing that was really big here in america and still is ..so i guess some british actors can full us and makes us believe they are america because they can act just like they was america ..its just good acting

  • @TheSteelersrock1010 i once had to do an exercise for my drama gcse when i spent the whole day with an american accent! oh, and mark addy still does loads of stuff in england!

  • It's the first time on my life I see he smiling!

  • James Lipton is really 84! But he's look so young!

  • fuck off is he 84. if hes 84 then my dad is david beckham

  • Why is the audience laughing at things that aren't funny? I don't get it...

  • I know there is a lot of House fans out there. But in my opinion both Laurie and Fry where best in Jeeves & Wooster. And ofc Laurie was brilliant together with Atkinson and Robinson in the last episode of series 4 of Blackadder

  • i have been watching hugh laurie interviews for about 30 minutes now and interested in all of them through the end. i think my add meds are kicking in

  • This guy's incredible on a lot of levels. I wish I'd get that kind of introduction. Though it would probably be at a Moosehead Lodge meeting.

  • Did they cut a lot in the interview, or is this the worse interviewer ever?

  • What do they say at 1:53 when he shakes Lipton's hand?

  • @00s00m NM, I figured it out.

  • For those debating who is deserving of appearing on the show, that is up to James Lipton. There have been over 60 Academy Award winning actors who have appeared, as well as Brooke Shields, Daniel Radcliffe, Conan O'Brien and Charlie Sheen. Lipton's book, 'Inside Inside' (2007) might shed some light on this process for you. Meanwhile, the first minute or two of this clip provides some of the reasons Mr. Lipton invited Mr. Laurie to appear on the show.

  • @StarMangledAstronaut hugh laurie is a good actor regardless of bad shows. poorly writ shows are not the fault of the actors. it would be similar to saying johnny depp is a bad actor cuz he was in that horrendous movie 'Nine Gates'.

  • @SatanIsYourGodNow666 the difference is that Johnny Depp has had a bunch of popular, well recieved projects.Hes been a solid actor with a great reputation for about 20 years. This guy hasnt.Part of a double act, career went downhill a bit, then makes it with a US TV show.He is excellent in House but thats just one good performance. I mean his most popular film is Stuart Little for gods sake, he just doesnt have the career that most other ITAS patrons have.

  • @StarMangledAstronaut honestly i don't think u have even the slightest bit of a taste for brit comedy. just because u don't like something doesn't mean it's bad by every1 else's standards. next time do us a favor and just shut up. and btw ITAS is about actors who have made a career for themselves so hugh laurie fits that category unlike other crappy actors

  • @SatanIsYourGodNow666 No, I do like British comedy. Blackadder is one of the funniest shows ever. BUT he isnt a funny part of it. if ITAS is just about any actor that has made a career, why not have Matthew McConaughey or Jean-Claude Van Damme? They suck, lets get them on! I always thought this show was about hand picking really quality actors who have made a difference in how they apply their craft. Turns out I was wrong. But I guess ur right, if I cant be positive I should shut up so I will. :)

  • OMG I never knew that was him in 101 Dalmatians! @_@

  • A huge croud that somehow sounds like a recording

  • oh HUGH YOU ARE AMAZING <3

  • Another amazing Gemini!!!

  • 6:29 - so cute, ain;t she?

  • who are the 6 ppl that dislike james hugh calum laurie what dweebs

  • 0:39 to skip the crap

  • @HampusHjertstrom THANK YOU!!!

  • @HampusHjertstrom thank you!! :)

  • H.O.U.S.E wooohoooo

  • Ohhh, that picture at around 1:13 with Hugh Laurie and Alan Rickman in Sense and Sensibility...they're both beautiful men! :D I can't resist a man in Victorian era clothing!!

  • @MiniJumboPancakes That would be Regency era clothing.

  • @RossiniSoprano

Oh, is it? I see. Well, then, I can't resist a man in Regency era clothing! ;D

  • @MiniJumboPancakes I feel rather the same way myself! :-)

  • Hugh Laurie just radiates epicness.....

  • @yogmanee1812

Just looked it up. Born in 192-fucking-6. Holy shit!

  • laurie is an amazing comedian, you don't even notice he is being funny you just laugh doesn't even look like he is being funny ... his Emmy acceptance speeches are amazing

  • Yeah, Jesus Christ, James Lipton looks 30 year younger than he is.

  • Hugh Laurie <3

  • Okay is it just me or is Sally jesse ralphal in the aud. look @2:17 and tell me what you think please.

  • Oh wow. The first time that Hugh felt he did something significant enough to earn his parents' positive recognition was when he was 9. This is incredibly depressing :[

  • lol... hes born in 1951....

  • 10-year-old James Lipton looked exactly like 84-year-old James Lipton...O.O

  • he is his best in comedy check out blackadder series 3 and 4, rowan atkinson (mr bean) in it aswell superbly funny

  • @ETSUBobias don't forget the sketches he has done with stephen fry.

  • He is a great actor

  • its weird to see him walking without a cane

  • doooh! I can practically see that 9 year old Hugh see his parents and his eyes sparkle! ! *u*

  • james liptons 84????? i thought he was at least 90

  • @topcat2726 from what i heard he's 107.

  • who cares how he looks, hes really sharp for an 84 year old!!

  • I know all the talk is about James Lipton's age, but I find it mind-boggling that the same guy that played the dad from Stuart Little also played Dr. House. Great actor.

  • James Lipton is gonna die at 150 looking not a day over 70.

  • @funkyhoboman What! James Lipton will never die, he is way to legendary even for god

  • @funkyhoboman unless its finall lupus

  • @funkyhoboman Couldn't agree more. Or over 50, even!

  • @funkyhoboman

    .

ppl like him never did day's work in their life , of course his body is preserved... he never used it.

  • wow... who knew one man could be so talented?!

  • FISTING!

  • i need to read the gun seller :D

  • Hugh Laurie has got to be one of the most diverse actors ever. He's played a cop, doctor, puppy thief, etc. etc. etc. He's amazing!

  • he asking all the obvious wikipedia questions.

  • This pesenter is a joke. Has no interviewer skills, unless this has been cut... Or if he is meant to be a quasi-enthusiastic comic.

  • @CascadePage, the thing with this is that its not ment to be an interview. more like educational collection of questions tailored to make the person in question talk so that the students learn stuff.

  • Are these on DVD I'd love to have this series

  • Wow I'm surprised by how well Black Adder is apparently known there. Maybe there's a lot of Hugh fans specifically.

  • When you grow up, you have to come to terms with this: When you look back at your child self, which of your two versions is the real one; the 10-year-old you, or you right now?

I've been thinking about this for too long, and he's just put it into words. Sorry about the paraphrasing but I was just trying to condense it.

  • he might be that 84, on tv people do get airbrushed and lighting can take years off you.

    55? nah older that that.

  • Seeing this for the first time, I hope he doesn't ask him about the american accent!

  • Can someone tell me the name of the music in the intro and endings of this programme: Inside the Actor's Studio?

  • @freeri87 Inside the Actor's Studio Suite, by Angelo Badalamenti--who also, by the way, composed the music for most of David Lynch's films as well as Twin Peaks.

  • HOW THE FUCK IS JAMES LIPTON 84? he looks 55 at the most! wow

  • @cinematicobsession HE IS???? you just amazed me. I don't usually comment on other people's comments. but wow.

  • @cinematicobsession HOLY SHIT!

  • @cinematicobsession I've been wondering that too - it's like "holy shit, if that's what 84 looks like, I can't wait".

  • @cinematicobsession WTF! He's 84??? wow!

  • @cinematicobsession Wow, he really is 84....holy crap!

  • @Flash33181 Seems 84 is the new 50, just wait til a few years, 100 will be the new 40!

  • @cinematicobsession The longer you laugh the longer you live!

  • @cinematicobsession Makeup. Lots and lots of studio makeup.

  • @cinematicobsession you should see the painting in his attic

  • @capomatrice Anyone who doesn't catch on to what you mean should not be able to find true enjoyment in this show.

  • @cinematicobsession

He is a vampire. He sups on the flesh of infants.

  • @cinematicobsession

It's from all that Lipton Ice-Tea with antioxidants

  • @cinematicobsession he's a vampire...duh

  • @cinematicobsession Omg that is so insane. Yay for James!

  • @cinematicobsession unbelievable :o

  • @cinematicobsession Makeup.... But yeah, he still looks pretty damn good for his age.

  • @cinematicobsession I think they call it plastic surgery

  • @cinematicobsession really???

  • The world's dullest interviewer.

  • 6 people got lupus

  • gay asian at 2:00

  • These intro credits make me laugh so hard, I had no idea why.

  • When I was introduced to House I never knew that Hugh Laurie is British and you know he sounds lovely with his accent. But he is totally amazing as House with the American accent.

  • @orlandobabe same here.

  • Will they ever do one on Lipton?

  • @nausinora they have, you should look it up, dave chapelle hosts. :D :D I think it's all on youtube.

  • It`s so weird that there are people who are only 40 but look like their 60 and then there are people who are 70 or 80 and don't look older than 50 as ivenstorm said.

  • i had no idea that so many americans knew about jeeves and wooster and black adder!!! Didn't think it would be America's cup of tea for some reason....

  • @funnyhuuny90 There's a lot of things about us lots of folks don't know. ;-)

  • @funnyhuuny90 America's like anywhere else; different people have different tastes. People who like British comedy happen to have GOOD taste.

  • The ten year old James Lipton or the hmph tsha... XD

  • Comment removed

  • @ilikehousetruestory actually, he is 83. check it yourself - wiki or imdb

  • His parents seem to bee kinda douchebags :/

  • @Cletus575 It's ok, cause they're both dead now... lol

  • there is something about hugh laurie to me that is so incredibly attractive, not only physically, he's gorgeous, but in his character. i cant really put my finger on it though. but he is such a great, and fascinating guy. intriguing i guess.

  • What year was this?

  • He was born in 1959.

    He is 51 years old.

  • Excellent absolutley excellent

  • @Sickofu100 he must be single too!!!

  • even james lipton is thinking 'bugger me, he's tall!!!'

  • @funnyhuuny90 well, he interviewed conan o'brien and his taller

  • Why do americans always laught at anything a celebrity says. I know Hugh Laurie has made good comedy, but not everything he says is hilarious.

  • @Cenot4ph Yes, because all Americans laugh at everything a celebrity says.

For fuck's sake, make some sense. Don't you know what a live TV audience is supposed to do?

  • @headphonic8 This isn't any live TV audience though, they're students..well most of them are students.

  • @DontBotherTETRiS Still, it's for a TV show. Being silent probably isn't going to go across well. Besides, I bet a bunch of people there are giddy to see him because they're fans. If I saw him, I know I'd be smiling.

  • @Cenot4ph Because we like to have fun. We aren't as stuckup and stuffy as you are.

  • @mrdkaff Yes you are quite the personality yourself, calling me stuckup and stuffy..

  • DAMM HE´S TALL!!

  • worst shhow on tv
