Nice vid, I'm a big fan of speed runs but gave them up. I run 1/8 GTP style with Tekin electronics, smooth as silk but you gotta watch your temp. Can you find a better road to run on? I kept expecting you, your rc, your camera man or your Toyota to get hit! Not to mention losing sight of it over that crest. Run at the right location and really open that baby up!
4:30 was awesome!!! Rustler was like a cat!! How did you use a 1/8 scale motor to fit a 1/10 car? I have a Bandit vxl and read that the stock drivetrain is the same as the rustler vxl. Is it possible to do the same set-up? Battery pack fitting might be a bitch, but maybe possible.
@kiker7sboyfriend Its actually geared as low as you can go.....for all of his trying to hide his gears you can clearly see at 5:07 hes running a 1:1 gear ratio (Which I think is why he ended up posting what gears he was running in his description). He cant gear it any lower than that. If he raised his gear ratio he would loose top speed and it would wheelie that much easier.

Im likeing your set up I have recently bought a rustler vxl and I'm going to get the biggest and best battery for it and gearing I am going to change the motor what set up will I need. what is the best battery to get and the best motor and every thing else to get the top speeds out of the rustler vxl. Hey I've been looking into getting back into the r/c world and wasn't able to choose between a short course truck or stadium truck. I would like to thank you and every one else (speedy, hockeydude, mustang, and gio) you all have inspired my decision on the rustler vxl (gf is getting me for Xmas). I'm no stranger to speed and recently I've had to get rid of my big power VW build because of schooling. I'll be bashing mostly this winter. I'll be watching you all closely.
@XboxGtBrandonLapp ur math is WRONG KID 1/4 doesn't always mean 1/4 speed. His throttle curve is obviously not setup that way. Go get build a rustler like this and tell me how easy it is to get it going fast and be semi controllable. This guys legit and you are a tool who doesnt understand basic esc/radio programing.
@XboxGtBrandonLapp just cause its quarter throttle at 106 doesnt mean it does 400, my rustler does 50 quarter throttle but it doesnt go 200 mph. it does 70+.

@draven3907 I've ran both tekin and castle in my rustler.IMO castle has the rx8/t8 smoked.I just stumbled onto these vids I have been working with my rustler for a while.Funny never having seen or heard of draven or MrTmustang or whoever and my setup is nearly identical.but mine is all aluminum the chassis is carbon.weird lol.

@TeamHighGear I am not a big fan of Draven's ego approach but if you want to truly settle the argument, face off in a drag race. Dial your car in and represent or turn up with your own radar gun and take speed readings yourself. If your not interested in doing any of those things keep your opinions off his page and keep doing your own thing. I can make my car look like it hit 200MPH, Be for real, I have used the castle setup and its decent but half the power of the RX8 setup, Its not my fault if you can't afford it. We were using police radar and now we have speed trac. pics up the vehicle within 30ft when passing it. Get real FAKE

Can you pm me the gears you have. I plan on attending the ISC with a rustler powered by a mamba monster in the open wheel category. I hope that the rustler falls under that category. then i can smash the record that is almost 2 years old.
another thing you need to do is do a little with aerodynamics. an undercarriage wing shape ( this will also help to cool the motor, which is seemingly underpowered for the task at hand, or it wouldn't be getting so hot) and a vertical stabilization fin as well as some other slipstreaming ( paticularly for the tires, as they make their own wind and interfere with forward motion)

Im likeing your set up I have recently bought a rustler vxl and I'm going to get the biggest and best battery for it and gearing I am going to change the motor what set up will I need. what is the best battery to get and the best motor and every thing else to get the top speeds out of the rustler vxl. whats up draven im haveing trouble my rustler keeps pulling to the left when i hit the trigger hard from a stand still it wont go in a striaght line i checked the servo and lined every thing up with the gyro and steering trim but still do it do you think i might have to much weight on the front ?

Hey I've been looking into getting back into the r/c world and wasn't able to choose between a short course truck or stadium truck. I would like to thank you and every one else (speedy, hockeydude, mustang, and gio) you all have inspired my decision on the rustler vxl (gf is getting me for Xmas). I'm no stranger to speed and recently I've had to get rid of my big power VW build because of schooling. I'll be bashing mostly this winter. I'll be watching you all closely.

Go get build a rustler like this and tell me how easy it is to get it going fast and be semi controllable. This guys legit and you are a tool who doesnt understand basic esc/radio programing.

@draven3907 I've ran both tekin and castle in my rustler.IMO castle has the rx8/t8 smoked.I just stumbled onto these vids I have been working with my rustler for a while.Funny never having seen or heard of draven or MrTmustang or whoever and my setup is nearly identical.but mine is all aluminum the chassis is carbon.weird lol.

Dial your car in and represent or turn up with your own radar gun and take speed readings yourself. If your not interested in doing any of those things keep your opinions off his page and keep doing your own thing. I can make my car look like it hit 200MPH, Be for real, I have used the castle setup and its decent but half the power of the RX8 setup, Its not my fault if you can't afford it. Thats why they call it a Hobby. Castles are nice Racers, but if you want to step it up run some real power. Anyone can hack there GPS. We were using police radar and now we have speed trac. pics up the vehicle within 30ft when passing it. Get real FAKE

Looks like 1 to 1 on the gears so all the ratio is in the trans, 2200kv times 25 volts with 6s = 55,000 rpm, just do the math.

another thing you need to do is do a little with aerodynamics. an undercarriage wing shape ( this will also help to cool the motor, which is seemingly underpowered for the task at hand, or it wouldn't be getting so hot) and a vertical stabilization fin as well as some other slipstreaming ( paticularly for the tires, as they make their own wind and interfere with forward motion)
