I found a very simple solution to the problem. Move to Costa Rica, have your CPP and OAP sent to Scotiabank there, and live a great life without excessive taxation and a cold climate. I bought property and a house for less than $90,000 My yearly property taxes are $250. (in Canada I was paying $400. per month). The health care is also much better in Costa Rica. What a dismal bunch. Really bothered me when John Tory addressed them with "...give us humane government, civilized behaviour at city hall...". How could he even say that when he backed down from taking on this responsibility. Instead he's left us, Toronto, with really two picks: Rob Ford or George Smiterman. Rob who is too simple and George who is too much the politician. What are we left with...bad choices that will deeply affect our city
you can not provide service with debt and deficits. Thats what no other candidate besides Ford understands. You can at first, because of tax or expansion of money (through debt) but over time, places pressure on the private sector and citizens who will spend less and invest less and therefore have less jobs....when we have inflation due to money expansion, . . government can give themselves raises....Rob ford 2008 was the only one to give back his raise...Smitherman voted himself a 35K raise..
The problem with this is is that you cannot continue to cut things and destroy things that have been already built by Toronto to create a better city. I understand where you are coming from. These people ( george smitherman) dont need the new raises. They are a waste, spending is out of control, but completely freezing it is not going to help, but slowing it down will. Rocco Rossi is the only candidate that understands this.The problem with Rob Ford is that he is isunpredictable
