Hello there thanks for this great posting i did everything from the instructions i did all the formatting from a VM running Mac Os Lion and i was able to boot from the USB with no problem but when it finishes the Mac OS Lion installation and asks me for a reboot and i reboot, it says boot manager is missing. It does not find the boot sector I have an Acer Aspire One Timeline X with a core i3 sandy bridge. 8GB ram SSD 64GB. Please let me know if the specs have anything to do with this.

the my hack worked fine, and i got the bios all set so it came up with the boot loader, and it picked the right drive, but when it went to boot from it, it just comes up with a white bar in the upper left and the rest of the screen is black, no installer, no nothing, i can't get it to do anything else without hard rebooting the computer. i made sure the bios data mode is set to ahci, and i even tried removing the gpu and using on board graphics and still no go....

It says the installation is complete, but when I try to boot it, its just a black screen with a little white thing blinking. What am I doing wrong?

so once you have installed lion on the memory stick, does it boot from there when you put it in the usb? and when you save documents and stuff, does it save on the hard drive or on the usb?

@spyshocker I'm not 100% sure but I think you can call Apple and they'll send you a USB with the Lion installer on it

@spyshocker if that's the case you can take a normal flash drive and download the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant. It will allow you to insert a flash drive, put the os on the drive and do a fresh install.

okay so i did everything you told me to do and i have a 1TB western digital external drive and when i did the myhack it deleted everything off of it and now i go to my windows computer to try and run the lion installer app i cant open my external hard drive because it deleted the software to show up on my computer. any help or suggestions??

Too bad OSX is very picky when it comes to hardware, and there are very little BIOS and kexts and whatnot compared to the amount of different hardware out there.

You really should include this though, that hardware limits OSX by a lot, or OSX makes itself limited or whatever. Takes a lot of fiddling and trying and fucking up to get everything to work right.
