How do indentify a train? and where did this take place?

By a scanner. You could get one at radioshack. this took place in Ridgefield Park, NJ between QR 5 and QR 7 on the CSX River Line

i thought it was in rocky mount north carolina because Q407 goes from rocky mount nc to waycross,GA
