I want to Eire once. It rains constantly and is very cold. It is full of black people and no-one works. Everyone is constantly drunk on Guiness and all they eat is Irish stew. They believe in Leprachauns and worship the Pope. They continually look to the past and are very sentimental. They speak English, play English sports and watch English TV. They dress only in green and are very lazy. They all have deep-set eyes and ginger hair. I am never going back.
ruthlesace..I agree it is disappointing, music like this is part of a vibrant culture, and it's hard to understand what other countries glean from it; maybe it's because they don't have the history, passion for their roots, or just don't write great songs. Long live Eire! (from an Aussie)
wow, i look at the posts to talk bout this great song and am dissapointed that of the twelve languages i can understand i dont even know what these are
@banjoist17@banjoist17 Nei, það er satt! Vá, ég tek ofan af fyrir þér! Ég ætlaði einmitt að kaupa mér írska flautu á miðvikudaginn en því miður voru þær allar uppseldar. Verð bara að tékka í tónlistarversluninni á laugarveginum. Þau eru með allt!
its "wish in me hearth it was Sunday" and not MY. "my" is only used by American and certain part or the modern english society. Modern doesn't necessarily mean good...
@TheSparrows22 There we go thanks oddly enough the other day on Pandora Flogging Molly's version came up I'd forgot that I posted this question but I love this version

Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very small sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “awhitesoul2012” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.
Thanks.

@banjoist17 Japp! Sama hér! Í hvert skipti sem að maður segir að írsk tónlist sé í uppáhaldi fær maður alltaf sama lúkkið... haha!

@banjoist17 Haha! Ekkert mál! Gaman að hitta fleiri íslendinga! Icelandic Irishmen at heart, unite!

@banjoist17 Já, það heitir léttur yfir jólin. Það byrjar svona: "Hann Jón okkar granni er jólasveinn víst, þó Jón sé ei glaðlyndur oft..." ;)

The ORIGINAL poem/song says Seth Davey, who was a real person. The tale is a true one. The Irish Rovers changed the lyrics a bit for their version.

Thanks for recording this song for us but the lyrics are wrong in only one place. It's SAD Davey and not Seth Davey. :-)
