Great video. Just checking to see if you like the tile in the kitchen? My wife and I are wondering about it being too hard a surface. Is it a problem for standing on it for longer periods of time, like concrete would be? We have no idea, so just asking for your advice. Many thanks.
what a retarted fucking question ! its like asking if the grass is green and the sky is blue ! fucking to hard to stand on ROFLMFAO ! maybe lay some grass in your kitchen , buy a cow to keep it short and a chicken to lay a few a eggs for breakfast :)
love the gloves tile master. Call me when your tile and grout crack! I'll take care of it. Great effort though!! You tried and that's all that matters. Great effort, no disrespect intended!
Tile is one thing that should be left to the pros. Really there isn't that many pros out there, that really have the skills to lay a perfect floor. Odds are you will have to pay top dollar to find them. This job doesn't look bad, at least they used underlayment, which is very important.
Jen and I ? Did Jen actually do any work or did she just stand there holding the camera and constantly say how tired she was ? If that was me I know where I'd shove that camera.
Your tile is gonna crack, you should not be sitting on it. You always work your way out dont put weight on tiles until they are set, at least 24 hours!!!!!
@forwardace tile still looks great after nearly 3 years. no problems what so ever. You wouldn't want heavy traffic in the first 24 hrs - but it's pretty hard not to step on one here and there during installation.
knucklehead, you can't put weight on the tile for twenty four hours. you are sitting on the tile you just put down. post a video of how it all cracks up and falls apart.
That's BS. If you use Hardy Backer Board you can walk on the tile in 10 minutes. I can't tell if he installed the underlayment because she keeps showing me the microwave but if not you could walk on it 4-6 hours. A lot of these videos on here people really don't know what there doing but this guy did a damn good job. Installing it diagonally is 10 times harder. It gets real tricky going around the walls but there a special tool that allows you to mark and cut a piece in under 20 seconds.
I hate to be "that guy"... but if you ever have to replace the dishwasher, it's going to be a royal pain, considering you laid tile across the front of the opening. Be prepared to take the countertop off or bust out some tiles.
well, I removed the bottom plate and laid the first and put it back when we were done, so if the dishwasher ever need replaced, I'll just pull the bottom plate back off, and twist the adjustable feet up about an inch, and it should slide out!
@kdurham98 had to remove the dishwasher to make some repairs. No counter top removal or tile busting required....simply twisted the adjustable feet up and slid it out.....FWIW
Haha...that poor bastard had no help from his better half! Join the crowd pal. The floor looks great-it would have went fast if she was, at the least, handing the tile....too funny
I love this! Totally gets the wife perspective and of note, the great sense of humor required when doing home improvement projects. Thanks for the heads up. My husband wants to do our own tile too. 30 hours! Wow!
Awesome job under harsh conditions. Bravo.

@rovingdesertfox we haven't noticed a difference from before, but then again we don't stand on it all day long or anything. We love the floor.

oww, and i think if you are going to do this , you should use knee pads. helps out alot , unless ur going to sit indian style and lay tile.

Oh yes, that's just what you need when you're busy tiling - a gossipy wife poking a camera over your shoulder every five minutes. :P
Good contribution with the coffe pot btw; you really did your fair share.
Looks like a really nice finish. Well done!
