Actually, come to think of it - I wonder if having the 'solo' mentality helped in the decision to get divorced ... yes, it's good to have a dependency on Jesus - for we all should keep pressing in to being broken for Him and Him alone, but he wants us to learn to love Him first that we may be changed in His extravagant love in order to live this life of loving others ... just a thought
I remember when we young kids sang this on the children/pre-teen's choir and our Pastor rebuked us and said that we don't need to be singing that song, and that we do need a mother, a father, a preacher, and a teacher ... we were mad at the time, but in later retrospect, Lord knows he was right on and I'm glad to have gotten that correction right on the spot in the middle of service ... might have been embarrassing, but look at the lesson I learned from it and how NONE of us forgot what was said

I remember when my mom used to play this song when I was a little girl and I still love it today! It's truly my testimony! Jesus is the only who'll always be there for you. Long as I got King Jesus I don't need nobody else!

I know its a struggle because i went through it for two yrs of crying and worry. your unemployment is finished but that is not the end. blessing will be coming your way soon when we continue to doubt not and trust God all the way. he is with us through this storm and we are not it alone. thats what i had to remember as well. i stood in the shower and i actually heard the holy spirit. God is an on time God and thats for you as well. stay in prayer. amen

@sassyluv124 ........I can testify to this..............i am a nurse and after medicare made a drastic cut it's been really hard to get a job.........i sent out so many pps and done a few interviews, still nothing, then last week i received two calls on the same day..i didn't know what to do.........i started shouting praises, because although i had NO doubts that HE was coming through for me, i wasn't expecting HIM to give me two jobs at once..........and both are full time jobs, GOD IS REAL!!!

Actually, come to think of it - I wonder if having the 'solo' mentality helped in the decision to get divorced ... yes, it's good to have a dependency on Jesus - for we all should keep pressing in to being broken for Him and Him alone, but he wants us to learn to love Him first that we may be changed in His extravagant love in order to live this life of loving others ... just a thought

I remember when we young kids sang this on the children/pre-teen's choir and our Pastor rebuked us and said that we don't need to be singing that song, and that we do need a mother, a father, a preacher, and a teacher ... we were mad at the time, but in later retrospect, Lord knows he was right on and I'm glad to have gotten that correction right on the spot in the middle of service ... might have been embarrassing, but look at the lesson I learned from it and how NONE of us forgot what was said

As fun as this song has always been for me, I don't think it's totally Biblical.. Too many Christians are isolating themselves because of being lied on, cheated, talked about, mistreated. But instead of actively living out forgiveness, they isolate themselves. The new trend is :it's just me and Jesus".But the New Testament format was community and to work it out with the brothers and sisters.
