Why was the screen blue in the beginning before he got into the house?

@caitlinjane92 Because it was shot in daylight and tinted blue to make it look like night. Early silent films hadn't the technology to shoot in the dark. Hope this helps. BTW - it's still very funny!

I'd seen clips of Chaplin before, but this is the first time I have watched him in a full movie. He is a genius! That bit with the rug and the door alone had me in stitches

I love this, I remember that wen I first saw it laughed so much my mam luked worried, lol. My favourite part in the movie is wen he tries to lure the stuffed cat towards him coz he thinks its real. (4:55) :D
