13 minutes ago I am confused between Sony HDR-XR550V, Canon VIXIA HF S21, Panasonic HD 700 HS. Dont know which one to buy. I want some thing solid great quality great features but simple to use. Money is not an issue if I'm getting top notch quality cam. Any one with expert advice out there which will be the best pick mentioned above

Because, when you're filming with this camera, chances are you're just using it for a soccer game or some home movies. And if the camera only shoots in one direction, why take sound from all directions? And when you DO need surround sound in a video, chances are you are a professional. So do it the right way in post production.

for example imagine your an armature film-maker in a forest and there's bird song around you and it sound amazing in surround that's when it would come in useful....holy crap long comment
