  • Towards the end.. I feel like it's Breeders type stuff.

  • I would call this Post-Modern Rock.

  • The drummer is undeniably the musical incarnate of Jesus.

  • any one know the deal with the hi-hat? it sound lovely

  • @77777337 two rides set up like a high-hat

  • that drummer is working with nothing! he has such a stripped down set and yet KILLS it. thats really impressive--go banana!

  • i love deerhoof dont get me wrong but after a while her voice gives me a ms. swan vibe and i get sort of pissed off.

  • soo good

  • Well that was worth stumbling upon...

  • is this made with pixilation technique?

  • Juan's got cool nieghbors

  • deerhoof is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Each member has their own backdrop

  • This is absolutely amazing.

  • These guys make experimental rock sounds fun! :D

  • Go Deerhoof!

  • that drummer is a gohard

  • The broken english lyrics are so cash

  • I saw these guys live last night. They were incredible. So much energy. So fun.

  • He sounds so much better with a piccolo snare.

  • Juan must be a pretty cool dude.

  • Beware zie Milky Pirate.

  • Psychedelic baby water taffy.

    Mop.

    Me fuff. Hi !

  • better than the album version by like 10 times

  • who dared disliked! RWR! MILKMAN!

  • the bass player is the only one holding on to the song

  • Genius

  • that bass looks crazy

  • I gotta say. I enjoy the live version of this song more so than the album version. Its easier to hear the drums.

  • The first person to criticize the bass lines got 3 thumbs up. Perhaps. But the level of creativity in this band just cooks awesome things out of its parts, whatever the parts are. Greg is the DNA I think.

  • Love deerhoof for what they are, but imagine with a...beefier, groovier bassist. Can't blame me for thinking it.

  • @FruitLeatherYT I hear what you're saying but I think it's the unique combination of each of these musicians that gives Deerhoof it's sound. If they had a groovier bassist they'd be another experimental free jazz band I think.

With Satomi they are a weird skewed punk/pop/experimental band. And that's cool with me!

  • Amazing.. a lot of sound from the drums even though the kit is so small!

  • I wish they were exactly like they are

  • WHY?

  • I wish they had more interesting basslines.

  • What's up with the dead white tiger's head on the wall? Your ignorance completely offsets your talent.

  • @jgresh14 ever consider that it's a replica, peta crusader?

  • @jgresh14

are you kidding? it's fake, they used to use it on tour.

  • @jgresh14 I don't think it's real, two of them are vegetarians.

  • @jgresh14 YOUR ignorance completely complements your stupidity.

  • Hey! You got your Police in my Cibo Mato!

  • listen with a good pair of headphones

  • @jumpkenny and appreciate the awful sound quality?!

  • drum nerds, does anyone know why his snare sounds so good? what kind of snare is that?

  • @corypulabowers could be several different factors: what kind of heads he uses, what kind of wood the drum is made from, how he tunes it, etc.

  • I really love the incredibly minimal drumkit. Proves that more is less.

  • sadly low frame rate on this one.

  • @secluded I have never seen or heard them better.

  • best band ever

  • This is epic. Drummer is my hero.

  • does anybody else here a sly and the family stone rif in here?

  • Yeah, I love this too, I'm the other half of the views :)

  • This is jazz for punk rock. Fucking godly. I bet they play this shit at the bottom of the Ocean. While your spirit lies in a sunken ship, you listen to this.

  • @WC7495 Perfectly described right there. They're so dope :D

  • @WC7495 umm are you baked???

  • @goblinob Probably - about 2 years ago.

  • experimental

    nice

  • I think if she would play a fretless bass that she would be an incredible woman to me

  • I think half of the 268 views on this vid are me. lol. Love these guys...so damned refreshing. It's like a piece of candy for the soul. =p

Juan's Basement definitely captured them at their best. Great stuff!

  • @secluded They were at their best when Chris Cohen was still in the band :(

Not that this isn't a great rendition. I also saw them play this when they were three and it was great then too.

  • @yerbluesj0hn

I agree at some level, but Ed is a perfect fit for the band as well. John can hold his own really well though. ps, if you're a fan of Chris Cohen or Deerhoof, you should check out Chris's new band Curtains.

  • @maxsample I've heard two Curtains albums, the most recent one and Flybys. I like Green Water :)

  • @yerbluesj0hn Dieterich and Rodriguez have pretty telepathic interplay though. They've also played together in Colossamite and Gorge Trio so they've learned to work together really well.
