  • nice to hear this again

also nice to see credit given to jocko and alan freed, both pioneers

  • Awesome. They don't do stuff like this anymore.

  • What a beautiful performance. Goosebumps and tears come to mind.

  • Ive listened to this song sporadically over the last 25 yrs or so,and I have just appreciated how well this song is put together and sang,DZ from the Bean

  • Probably one of the most beautiful tunes of the 50's.

  • OMG, I love this. So very nice and smooooth.whew!!! Ahh u mentioned Alan Freed, my favorite DJ, also friend. Thanks, love

  • Please, help me, i'm french-speaking, i look for the song "Never tell me goodbye" a slow. Peace and Merci

  • My 1st time hearing this great sound. Williw Winfield, and his Harptones is what Doo_Wop is all abouit, the greatest sounding music to one's ear.

  • Doesn't get any better than this.

  • Listening to this song gives me goose bumps. Saw a man break down and cry when he heard the Harptones sing this at a concert.

  • love this song Willie and the group are so smooth

  • It was pretty much the same in Philly. I'm not sure but the DJ was probably Jocko Henderson. On the street corner, "Sunday Kind of Love" was the one everyone sang but at parties we got the double dose. Question: The lead on "Memories of You" sounds as if it could be someone other than Willie Winfield although I thought he sang of all their leads. Would you know?

  • The legendary Jocko Henderson did play both sides of the record on his radio show in Philly. Although "Sunday Kind of Love" always was, and probably still is, the #1 doo wop song done by street-corner harmony groups of all ages.

Incidentally, Willy Winfield is the lead singer on "My Memories of You".

  • Willie Winfield was singing the lead on My Memories of You.

  • I always felt their release of this made the record have two "A" sides.

  • When the record was first released, Alan Freed used to play both sides just about every night.

  • Willie's intro and outro are the most beautiful!

  • One of my favorites. I heard this back around '93 when I was 12 and just loved it.

  • I'm glad you like it. It was the B side of the Harptones first and most famous hit "A Sunday Kind of Love", recorded way back in 1953. It's good to know that new generations are getting to hear and love this music.

  • Thanks. Harry Warner had also answered. When I was young, I never questioned it. But somehow, listening it to it recently, I thought he sounded different than on "Sunday Kind" and "I'll Never Tell." They were a supergroup.
